Montgomery County Department of Liquor Control

If you need to purchase liquor, this is the place to go. Montgomery county controls liquor sales so whenever you purchase from them directly you are, in a sense, skipping an additional middle man, hence muxh better pricing than in a private liquor store.

Good selection of liquor, not so much on wine or beer. Good prices, also they will special order hard to find products for you.

This is not a review. Can somebody please tell me why Montgomery County has these liquor control system that you can not purchase alcohol from grocery stores, gas stations, convenient stores? This is such an inconvenience to have to drive to a Montgomery County Liquor store. Who’s idea was this? It does not make any sense at all. I am glad I am not a permanent resident of Montgomery County because these laws are a pathetic excuse for whatever intentions that this county has. And those damned shopping bag tax? Total bullshit. It’s just a fraud scam that this county is using to make money. It’s not to save the environment. Come on Montgomery County. I wasn’t born yesterday. I know what sneaky schemes your up to. I’m gonna move out of this stinking county and state this fall anyways so I don’t have to worry about your corruptness.

I love MoCo liquor stores. Constant sales on top shelf vodkas. VA’s ABC can’t match ‘em. That’s why you see small bar owners from accross the borfer come here stock their shelves.
Beware, that all these stores close at 9pm, so stuck up early.

What mad genius put the liquor store next to the library and the high school? Regardless, to those of you unfamiliar with Montgomery County, liquor is only sold by the government in special stores such as this one. Privately owned stores can only sell beer and wine, and even that type of license is difficult to get.
On the up side for customers, we have one of the lowest per-​gallon taxes on liquor in the entire nation, and the county stores, such as this one offer very low prices.
They can and will have sales on expensive, top shelf items that no privately owned liquor store would ever match.
My suggestion is to lose your brand loyalty and adopt a ‘best deal’ mentality. I’ve really branched out and tried a lot of different types of Scotch, Irish Whiskey, Canadian Whiskey, Sour Mash Whiskey, Rye, and Bourbon as a result, 1L bottles of Crown Royal Black for $ 30 and 1.75L bottles of Jameson’s for $ 38 are two of the most consistent good deals I have found.
On a special note, during the holidays, these stores will sell fancy gift packages for the SAME LOW PRICE as the regular bottles. That means if you have drinkers on your gift list, you can get them Jagermeister Shot Glasses, Glenlivet Rocks glasses, Milagro margarita kits, and much much more for just the base cost of the bottle. My coworker flipped out when I got her an Amaretto coffee mug gift pack.
