I love coming here for sushi for several reasons(never been to hibachi, just the regular part) besides that it is in our neighborhood. –it’s quiet and a great place to talk with your party members. –service is always very good and never a wait –food is always great(I’ve had many tries) and presented well and chefs will modify whatever you want. I would like to see a menu with some better saki’s on it.

Good sushi and hibachi. Fast service, fair prices. Not as good as Ichiban, but a good restaurant.

Let me start by saying the only reason it’s not 5 stars. It’s only because there soup is not as good as Yamato. Other than that EVERYTHING was as good or better. Did not have to wait an hour to get seated. Service was good and fast. Went here for the wife’s birthday you get a free fried cheesecake dessert. We will be back.

Gross. I came here to eat hibachi and it was nothing to rave about. On the bright side, the wait was non-existent. However, the rice left a bad taste in my mouth, the steak was mediocre, and the service was average. Maybe if I had stuck with the sitting room area, I would have enjoyed it more, but I doubt it.

We have been to many hibachi steakhouses in South Florida and Orlando and this was the worst by far. The most disappointing item was the ginger salad, which was almost inedible. The ginger dressing was watery and flavorless. We will not be returning.

During my time training in Gainesville, my classmates and I would sometimes come to Samurai because they have a good lunch deal on hibachi, and when we got tired of eating fast food all the time lol. The lunch price for hibachi is around 9 – 11 bucks depending on what protein you choose or if you do a combo. I always got the steak and scallops combo. Each time I get it, both are always cooked to perfection. Usually I’d get 4 – 5 fresh pieces of scallops, and the steak is cooked to my liking of medium rare. Depending on what chef is cooking for us that day, it depends if we got more or less food, but generally we all got plenty of fried rice and grilled veggies on our plates. I would always get a double of the yum yum sauce, that stuff is like crack! LOL. But there was so much food that I always took half of my food home for dinner. The hibachi chefs are pretty entertaining and friendly. I made the mistake of one time sitting at the end of the hibachi table, so I pretty much was the chef’s «guinea pig» lol. Time is sometimes a factor if you only have an hour or so for lunch, as they sometimes wait to see if more people come in for hibachi lunch. Since the restaurant is located in a plaza, parking can be a bit tricky since the lot is tight. For the amount of food you’d get for the price is the reason why we would come here so often. Also, because the food tasted so good. Lol.

I love this place, especially since Yamato is so hard to get in to anymore, given its become the ‘spot’ for teens and ‘first dates.’ The only issue I have is with the salad being so runny. My lettuce was actually floating o_O… Great food though!

Under staffed left dirty dishes at the bar and table across from us for way too long. Plate was also a liile dirty. Food is good and typical for a tempanyak.

I suppose I could give this place another try, preferably right after payday. I wasn’t thrilled and found it to be expensive beyond it’s value. The food was not bad. I had seafood udon soup, which though tasty and voluminous could not possibly justify the $ 14 it cost. I won’t comment on the sushi, because I would be out of my depth. I can’t conceive ever paying the list price for sushi anywhere, yet it remains popular. I’m missing something. I made what was probably a mistake, and didn’t take in the hibachi show. Table service was lacking, but the show looked fun from the next room over. The cooking show madness would probably have justified the considerable cost. If you’re going here, you should probably do the common table show thing.

Always good food and always the BEST service I have ever experienced! Best sushi/hibachi place I’ve ever been to! Worth it!

We decided not to do the samurai chef cooks in front of you table show, and instead opted for sitting down in the dinnering room and ordering sushi and meals off the menu. Service really was average at best. Not that is was bad, but it wasn’t good either. We ordered a lot of sushi. Taste and quality were fine. The prices were on the higher side, not by much $ 1 or $ 2 per roll for what you can get elsewhere in town. Verdict on the sushi, we wouldn’t go here alone for the sushi given other places in town that offer better service, ambiance and sushi prices per roll. The miso soup was good. The entrees we ordered were ok, nothing great. We will be back, and next time try the samurai hibachi table experience just to give them a second chance. All in all, I wouldn’t give this a place a ‘must try’ rating by any means.

Probably one of the best hibachi grills out there! Its better than Benihana of Fort Lauderdale. Great portion size with the usual teriyaki flavor and the fun show the chefs put up.

Nothing special. We had the sushi and sashimi special and tried talking over and under the shrieking from the hibachi room next door. The sashimi tasted fresh enough, but was cut in ½″ chunks, thicker than I’m used to seeing. The sushi rice had no particular flavor, as though they’d omitted the bit of tossing it w/sugar & rice vinegar etc that makes it special. But the service was friendly and, as I say, the fish tasted fresh. So for a quick meal, it’ll be okay for a second try.

It was good in the past but today, the chef over cook chicken & burn veggies. The taste still good especially rice, noodles, salad, & mizo soup.

This is an amazing hibachi restaurant and the owner take great pride in serving fresh great tasting food with amazing service. We frequent this restaurant for business lunches and after having two different chefs prepare our food we have never had anything less than a perfect experience. The hibachi is great and be sure to try the sushi rolls also. I plan on coming back and just trying sushi sometime soon but is hard because the hibachi food and service is so good.

You can go ahead and assume that they’re going to get your take out order wrong. Even though it’s all tied up, you’ll want to go through it all and make sure everything you ordered is there. Especially when you live far away from the restaurant.

This place is a little tricky to find. It’s in a plaza near a Publix and an AT&T store, but it’s on the side of the building facing 39th. Once you find it, though, it’s quite a treat. HIbachi dinners are around $ 20/person and the portion sizes are large. It comes with soup, salad, rice AND noodles, veggies, and meat. The performance is also decent, as far as hibachi goes. The restaurant is clean, neat, and spacious, but they don’t play any music which is a little awkward when you’ve got communal seating around the hibachi grills. Regardless, it’s a great date night place with good food for a good price.

Went for dinner last night with friends visiting from out of town. We had a variety of food including udon soups, stir fry dishes, and sushi. Everything was delicious, portions were huge, and service was awesome. I would definitely recommend this place!

Friendly service, fair price with generous portion. It is clean and safe choice for family. If you are looking for authentic Japanese, might want to find something else. Otherwise, I still recommend it.
