The service is a little slow, but the pizza and salads are delicious! The small is the perfect size. The only downfall is you often have to wait for a table because they are so crowded, but hopefully that dies down after the«newness» wears off.

The menu offers two sizes that look like a personal pizza. Taste was bland but the toppings offered was generous . We came home and put a pizza in the oven and enjoyed it more.

In my opinion, customer service plays a MAJOR Role. It gives a customer a good or bad view and mood for the restaurant. I think that is something MOD Pizza lacks. I came to MOD after hearing the endless praise my brother gave this place. When I entered, the line was at the door. It took about a good 35 minutes to reach the menu and another five minutes for someone to take my order. I was a bit overwhelmed about the menu. There were a lot of options! I feel that if the paper menus were to be near the door rather than right under the menu board, I would have given this place three stars. People were blocking the board which made it hard to read the board from a distance. When I reached the assembly line, I was clueless on what to order. I didn’t know if I wanted a Create Your Own(CYO) or if I wanted a suggested menu item. I decided on doing a CYO. The employees in the line were not that nice when you talked to them and most of them were very inattentive. I found myself having to repeat what I said. It basically ended in me having to take my cooked finished pizza back and them having to add the missing ingredient. When they made the correct pizza, it was actually pretty good. The pizza is what brought my review to two stars. I would recommend that when you get a drink to stick to the sodas. None of the teas or lemonade were good. Would I recommend this place? On a day that isn’t crowded, sure. On a day when it is crowded, probably not. I would only recommend this place to someone who could overlook non existent customer service.

Went to MOD for the first time this past weekend. I’m originally from NYC and can be pretty critical about pizza. I have to say I surprised by the quality of the food. Fresh ingredients, well-prepared and really tasty. I also have to say that the manager, Ryan, and the rest of the staff were awesome. Looking forward to going back!

The name of the game here is speed. Where else can you get a custom pizza made in about 5 minutes? As for the pizza itself, yes, it tastes like a tombstone from the grocery store that was heated up. The pies we tried had too much cheese and too little toppings as well. However, I don’t think this place is trying to win any culinary awards for its pizza quality. Lets call it like it is. This place serves fast food, and it is junk food. But it is quick and relatively tasty.

Updated — went today for lunch with a friend. It was good :) ordered a mini for myself and with a drink it was a super cheap, yet filing meal. My last review’s complaint about not having the topping list available while you wait in line was fixed– they had a box of paper menus and it was full this time. I guess someone forgot to fill it last time. Overall, good meal and fun to design your own pizza! We enjoyed MOD last night. We had attempted to try it out a week or so ago, but it was packed and there was no seating available. So we tried again, but a little earlier in the day this time. We made the right choice on time of day(5pm) as there was seating this time! My biggest complaint is that they don’t have a list of all ingredients available while you’re waiting in line. They do have a menu of already designed pizzas, but if they do have a topping menu, they weren’t available the night we went. The ordering process may have gone quicker if we had a list of possible toppings before stepping up to order. But what we wound up having was very good and enjoyable. The pizzas were affordable– and it was nice to have a less expensive option for the younger or smaller appetites in our party since one of our girls eats with an adult palate, but has a kid sized stomach. The drinks were good, the husband and one of the kids tried the lemonades, which were strong but yummy. We’ll definitely go back and are looking forward to making up different pizza recipes!

Great flavors and fun. Cool atmosphere and great service from the staff. Really enjoyed picking the topping for my ‘mod’ and it tasted great. We tried pizza, salad and garlic sticks and all were very enjoyable.

This is a great place to get a quick pizza that’s just delicious. The atmosphere is just right and the service is pretty good. I’ve only gone here once, so I’ll review more when I go there again.

Great pizza and the staff are fantastic, it might appear like fast food, but it’s brick oven goodness, the roasted garlic is a must!!!

I don’t know how this could possibly be considered NY style pizza. Very bland and very thin, hard crust. More of a hang out for high schoolers.

Great new addition to the Gainesville area! Create your own pizza for $ 7.87 with unlimited toppings and it’s ready in 5 minutes! Blackberry lemonade is amazing and they have beer and wine. The staff is very friendly and seem to enjoy being there.

Never again… Ordered from mod about a week ago and it was decent pizza, good for the area. Ordered tonight, I created my own. White sauce, arugula and balsamic fig glaze. There was no white sauce on it. Literally like 4 arugula leaves and no balsamic fig. Not for nothing but who in their right mind makes the pizza they gave me and doesn’t think, hmmmmm this looks like an odd pizza«am I forgetting something» or everything! So annoyed!!! I basically paid for a pice of naan!

I had no idea this place was open in Gainesville, but I was surprised in a good way. Someone suggested we go there to eat, and I was curious. The best analogy I can make(not sure if others did too) is that it is Chipotle for pizza(sans ecoli, sorry, Chipotle). Since this place is new, I am sure the one thing that made me cranky will be worked out: the service is so. freaking. slow. We came in on a Wednesday around 5:30 for dinner, and there were 2 – 3 people ahead of us, but it was a good 10 min before we even got to place our order. In the typical«this is new» shuffle, I was grateful to turn around and see a line for days, and that I was no longer in it. Once the staff gets exceptionally good and quick, the line issue should go away. The food itself was very good. The pizza crust has sort of a naan/pita texture and taste, which is a welcome departure from the over-floured taste of normal pizza. The toppings(endless amounts) were fresh and tasted great as well. I wasn’t brave enough(and the time crunch was contributing to being late somewhere so we took food to go) to create my own but I definitely plan to come back and try some things out. I did grab a mini caesar, and the dressing was thick but not too salty, and the size was generous for a «mini.» I will most certainly return again soon and hope that I remember to grab some of that wine ONTAP, oh yes, ONTAP, folks. Woot!

New favorite place in town! Honestly, this place is AMAZING. Came in on a Saturday at about 12. Was quite busy but the short line moved quickly and we were able to find a table easily. This place is similar to how you would order at Chipotle or Subway, where you go through a type of assembly line, tell them the size and menu you item you want and you can customize it however you wish. We got the mod size(11 inch pizza) of the Kasey and the Caspian. Incredibly cheap as it was only $ 20 and change for the two pizzas and two drinks. They have beer on tap(didn’t try it) and house made iced tea and lemonade. As well as Coke products. All good stuff. Food was ready incredibly fast, they were calling our names very frequently. Both pizzas were very yummy. The crust was great. I personally wasn’t a huge fan of the Kasey, topped with olive oil, Brussels sprouts, bacon, gorgonzola, red onion, balsamic fig glaze. Very unique and pretty yummy but the glaze was rather too sweet for me. But I will still certainly come back to try more. With plenty of options ranging from standard pizza to gourmet the unique options create endless possibilities, being also incredibly cheap, and incredibly fast. Certainly worth checking out.

The reviews were right. Quick tasty and you build it the way you want. We tried four different pizzas and shared. Everything was well prepared and the ingredients were fresh. Staff was pleasant and happy to show us how it worked since it was our first visit. They had almost too many staff but I’m sure that was to ensure a great quick experience for what is sure to be a lot of first time customers. Very wise thinking of the management because that first impression is critical. Custom thin crust pizza in less than 5 minutes!!! We will be back.

I went here the day it opened. It was pretty good. I will be back again later on. I liked the concept of the pace. The food was pretty good as well.

Love this NY style pizza. If you’re going to use names, pronounce it correctly. Don’t overcook… ever. Provide a procedure for who is to answer the phone when it needs answering. If you have more than 6 phoned-in orders that need to be cooked at one time, don’t keep your in-line patrons waiting while you make all 12. Serve the line and make 1 – 2, then serve the line again.

Pizzas were tasty, with thin crust. Went on opening night so crowd was constant. Initially it seemed pizzas were taking a bit long to be ready, but four minutes or so after we ordered, pizzas were ready. Had lots of people working. Owner was on hand and was assisting in clearing tables to get people seats. Only two«complaints» — 1) need sweetners for ice tea drinkers. None on rack where drinks, napkins were, nor at cash registers; 2) somehow(wish I knew how) keep folks who haven’t ordered from grabbing seats and waiting for the family member who ordered to arrive. It messes up the seating for everyone else.

Addicted already. From fantastic staff — so friendly and helpful! — to incredible selection and quality of ingredients, we’ll be here often. Absolutely love the crust: light and great flavor. Love how you can choose how many, which, and how much of various fresh toppings. The«mod» size is just right for one, occasionally with a slice left for later. So ample. Loved the Dominic(held the onions, added artichoke). Others got three-pepper with chicken, and a pepperoni with fresh mushrooms and olives. Loved the mini size — perfect for kids or for a snack. Thinking we’ll come for multiple pies one day and divide them all up so we can get a taste of everything. Fountain drinks are wonderfully different from the usual: blackberry lemonade, yum! Great addition to the neighborhood! Glad Mod is here.
