CYM Coffee

I’ve been coming here for a while. The staff is always friendly. The coffee is wonderful and a huge selection. I’ve had the snickers cappuccino which is very tasty. I had their French press coffee which is the smoothest freshest coffee ever. Lunch at the CYM café in back is fantastic as well.

Been in this town for years and by far my favorite coffee place. Super tasty specialty coffee served by laid back, friendly people that work at a place with a chill ambiance.
The Good

— Adorable outside cat Abbey that looks like Grumpy cat’s mom, I think she’s 19 years old now!
The Bad (would give 4.5 stars but worth rounding up)
— Small pastry variety but tasty
— Wi-​Fi can get slow if busy (somewhat expected)
— Beer is relatively expensive and small variety
— Limited parking, especially during events

This is a jewel of a little coffee shop. Excellent coffees, friendly and casual barristas, lots of cozy indoor space and plenty of outdoor spots. Aside from a few bakery goods it doesn’t have much to offer by way of food, but it’s located on a little compound of organic places — with a sister shop next door serving excellent sammies and other savories. Love the loyalty card program. When you need a proper espresso, a comfy place to sit, and a broadband wireless connection, this place hits the mark.

I love coming here when I want to study outside because they have a large seating area with big tables and many outlets. Sundays are their most crowded days so if you want to sit on the porch, make sure to come early!
They have a large selection of drinks to choose from, including a ton of signature lattes with cool additions. The chai pumpkin latte is my favorite in the fall.
They often have locally sourced coffee, too. My one complaint is that the inside is very warm and sunny (which is great) but this is not great for the milk that sits out all day. I have had several experiences where it seemed like my stomach didn’t agree with the milk that I had added to my coffee, and I think that is the reason.
I wouldn’t say that the coffee is amazing, but it is definitely better than Starbucks and other chains.
There is always an ice cream shop next door with amazing ice cream, as well as CYMply Fresh Café. If you plan on getting something from either of these, keep in mind that they close at 4.
Overall, a perfect place for studying due to its open yet cozy seating and very friendly staff.

Great coffee. Awesome pastries. Service is friendly and efficient. Love the atmosphere but gets pretty busy and unless the weather is nice enough to allow us to sit outside we sometimes have to take our goodies to go.

amazing. everything about this coffee shop is amazing. I got the salted caramel mocha latte and it’s delicious. we got three coffees and two quiches and the price was only $ 20. the art and atmosphere is really great

CYM is my favorite place to go when the wether gets cooler. The porch has plenty of seating and a few outlets if you need to study. I love how comforting CYM is. It’s like studying at your cool Grandma’s house. They have added a lot more seating to combat how popular it has become, but I would still suggest coming fairly early if you would like a seat.
The drinks are delicious and the baristas are true artists. They are great at what they do. It’s a nice surprise to pick up my coffee from the counter with a little monkey in my foamed milk. I really love the Chunky Monkey latte for my treat yoself days and the Killer Bee for when I really want to be productive. Their menu is huuuuuuge! The drinks have gotten a lot pricier, but they are worth it! If you get 10 stamps on your punch card, you can get ANY drink for free, so it’s a win!
If you get bored of studying, there is a café, gift shop, nursery, and ice cream parlor next door. Plenty of places for you to take a study break! It is a great one stop shop.

Over the past few years at home a local coffee shop has been pulling me away from my regular Starbucks. So I’ve been open to trying new local shops around. Opened Unilocal.this was one of the first places to pop up. Super cute place looks like a little house. It’s in a little plaza. Also really cute

I’ve found my new coffee shop when visiting Gainesville

On my visit to Gainesville to catch up with an old friend, we decided to stop in this local shop for coffee after our unsuccessful shopping trip at the nearby mall and didn’t want to wait in the line at the Starbucks inside the mall. My friend knows I prefer to support local businesses and she hadn’t tried this coffeeshop before. I pulled out my Unilocal app and saw this was very close to the mall and had several great reviews. We were actually very pleased with making this choice as they had fantastic employees and menu. I was in the mood for some exotic hot tea while she had the chai. The building is set up inside of a quaint little house with great tables and nooks for studying inside and also a wrap around porch outside.
As soon as we placed our order at the front, we quickly made a new friend who overheard our conversation. We all decided to take our drinks outside and had a long conversation with our new friend who also had brought in his friend to the table. This isn’t the kind of experience you’d get a corporate shop like Starbucks.
I was humbled by that evening and really liked my experience that I decided to tell my mother to meet up with me there the next day as she lives an hour north of the area. It was the perfect meet up spot without feeling rushed to go somewhere else. I grabbed a mocha (without cream, I know I have my quirks, but need my chocolate!) and my mom had a basic cold tea. We sat there for 10 minutes before realizing that there’s a sister restaurant on the far left of the building. We decided to check it out for our lunch.
Would I come back? DEFINITELY! My best friend who lives in this area totally loved this experience and she’s happy to have found a new cool spot that she can grab her tea and meet up with her other friends instead of corporate Starbucks!

Coffee place was small and the coffee was not good. Tasted watered down. Why go there when Starbucks is 1 mile away.

Great coffee, cool vibe, and friendly service. In a town full of excellent coffee options it can be easy to miss this one. Tucked off of Newberry Rd by the Cymplify market, I drove past it for months before stopping by. There is plenty of indoor our outdoor seating. Walk next door to check out Cymplify while you are there.

Such a cute café! I ordered the zebra cold (white chocolate/​dark chocolate coffee) and it was delicious! The people that work there give off a friend-​ish vibe, rather than making it feel like they just want your money and push you off to the side for the next customer. The style of the café is very homey, and that’s what the employees treat you.

This place is amazing. I will come again. Next time with the hubby. Tonight they had a fund raiser event.

Great selection of hot and iced coffee. I had the hot salted caramel latte. Not bitter, not too sweet; just right. Service was friendly and informative. We showed up not realizing there would be a food truck rally on premise in the market area immediately behind the coffee shop. Lots of activity, lots of people. Plenty of parking in surrounding designated lots. We hear they do the food trucks the first Friday of every month.

I always love to visit local coffee shops whenever I’m in a new area. Found this gem and really enjoy the coffee and ambiance. It’s an old country house feel with lots of seating inside and outside.
The staff was very courteous and made my latte with love. Always appreciate the attention to detail! Will definitely come back whenever I’m in the area!

The coffee and service are among the best in town but the election is awesome for a business meeting or a place to study and Fridays nights you can check out local food trucks.

This by far has had the best ‘coffee shop’ vibe in Gainesville. Coffee, tea, and hot chocolate and then wine and beer and live music for later in the night. Its a good combo; just wish the quality of the food had been better. Staff were very friendly and relaxed.

Offer refillable cups of tasty brews: $ 1.50 to start and .50¢ per refill after (and yes, you can bring your own mug and get one «for the road»)
CYM Coffee Co. provides a relaxed, inviting atmosphere similar to that of a home away from home. The barista who took care of my orders was both polite and knowledgeable in regards to the coffee beans, the coffee extraction methods, as well as the subtle nuances found in comparing these two aspects of a great brew.
