Cook Out

This place opened up recently and I finally decided to give this place a try.
I went with my grandfather and it was packed for lunchtime when we got there. Everyone was crowding around the counter waiting for their food. I gotta say it was a longer wait then usual for a fast food restaurant. But, it’s a GOOD wait.
Turns out they actually take frozen raw patties (or dogs — HOT dogs I mean, sicko…) out of the freezer and throw it right onto the grill! That’s awesome. So it’s a good wait, I reckon.
So we got our food later on, and our cheeseburgers were so good! You could see the grill marks and it tasted like a freshly grilled burger. And the fries tasted so good. My grandfather got a shake with his meal and he said it was fantastic.
Now there’s a reason why I refrained from giving this establishment its fifth star was the service. The service didn’t really try to keep the place clean. People had to constantly ask the employees to wipe dirty tables (even if they were dirty for a while).
But overall, this place is awesome. I, personally, would go back again. I recommend this to anyone who has a lower budget that wants some freshly grilled burgers, hot dogs, and shakes.

These people are in WAY over their heads. Dont go at Lunch time if you want good service. They seriously are well over their heads.

Worst customer service I have ever had. I went there with my 3 grand daughters age 8 – 13. We had just done a half day of shopping and they wanted to go in and sit down to eat. Okay no problem. I went in and there was no line (bonus! I thought). I stood there for over 5 minutes watching someone come out the door at the end of the counter, someone else filling toppings for their shakes and 2 other people standing by the drive thru. We talked loudly to get their attention and nothing. We walked out and went to the drive thru instead since there were 2 people there and they seemed to be laughing and having a good time. Thought I would remind them when we got to the window that they have indoor service too. Well that was a bigger disaster. I had to repeat each order at least twice and they still got it wrong. I got to the window and she told me it was one price and then another. Then when we were half way home we discovered woohoo! no forks for the slaw that each of us had gotten. I guess we were lucky we got straws and napkins. I will not be returning here. After more than 30 years in various customer service positions I do not tolerate crappy customer service.

Ehh, this one is difficult. First off, food has always been fantastic, however, you don’t always get what you order. Yesterday (at the drive through) I ordered a cheeseburger with double hush puppies and a coke… Got home and discovered I’d gotten a burger with no cheese, double French fries, and a diet coke. It was all good, but still, not what I ordered.

I have been on more than one occasion and always feel kinda rushed to order. I did like their double cheeseburger but the sides are underwhelming. I tried the fries and rings. Not bad for the price you pay.

This place is never consistent. They either mess the order up entirely or simply «forget» to give you the rest of your food. This isn’t normally a big deal to me but this is not the first, second, or even the third time it’s happened. Probably won’t go back.

I am so tired of having my order wrong and getting overcooked chicken tenders directly on the styrofoam melting it. If you’re brave enough to go here check your food before leaving the drive through window…

Understand that three stars for a fast food chain from me is saying something as I do not frequent fast food ‘restaurants’ as a rule and would give them all carte blanche one star. So for fast food these guys are okay. It’s still fast food, but seems to be a step up from the norm. Plus a fast food place with ambience is a surprise, with outdoor seating a nice touch in good weather. The employees actually are pleasant, and our order was filled quickly. Like that I can get quesadillas as I don’t like burgers.

The food is usually always good but they have a group of playful teenagers working here. Everyone knows when it comes to preparing food for peoples consumption it is no joke. At the window I just see them hopping around and laughing. I think to myself «No big deal, just kids having a good time.» Well when me and my friend get home she starts eating her burger then she pulls a really really long hair out of her mouth. After that she threw away her food and said never again. Now I avoid this place when the kids are working.

I love cookout! The tray is such a money saver and you get a lot of food! Love the quesadillas and burgers and chicken fingers! Staff is usually friendly

Burgers and Fries were so so good. Fast and friendly service. Nice place, somewhat small but very clean! Will be back for sure!

Traveling with my dog, I decided to give cookout a try. I ordered the chicken strip meal. Having tried Purina Dog chow as a child (yes I admit it) I have to say the coating on this chicken tasted suspiciously familiar. It was an extremely thick coating as was the coating on my onion rings. At least the onion rings were actual onions and not chopped onions., but all of the breading made the meal fairly inedible to mez

You get what you pay for, not a bargain — awful seating, small burgers, mini wrap, did have good fries.

Not as good as my previous reviews of the Cook Outs in Augusta.
Had a double burger out west style. It was dry but still had fresh onion with lots of crunch when you bite them.
The fries seemed to be older and fried to much. Seemed like they were the leftovers from the bottom of the bag. I forgot to ask for Cajun seasoning which is provided upon request. I suggest doing this since it is good and I believe you’ll get fresh fries.

Pretty good Cookout. They are pretty quick and the food is always pretty good.

Wow! What a deal and great food! 5 of us ate and had milkshakes for 31.00. Unbelievable! Highly, highly recommend! Fast and friendly!

Ate here for the first time ¹⁰⁄₀₁. The menu was a little confusing. The restaurant is small with both indoor and outdoor seating, as well as drive-​thru. The place was packed with people walking back and forth looking for seating. The line moved quickly and we felt rushed to order. Still, we purchased food and drinks for 6 people for $ 32. Had we realized about the «cookout tray» menu option, it would have been closer to $ 27. All of the kids thoroughly enjoyed their meals. My husband and I both enjoyed our burgers. They were meatier with better flavor than other burgers of the same genre. The fries were well seasoned. The milkshakes rivaled Sonic’s. We will definitely be going back. The trainers from North Carolina were present, and the staff was friendly and welcoming.

I have been eating at the Cookout off of Jesse Jewel shortly after they opened, and was glad to hear Cookout decided to open up a second location in Oakwood. I decided to try this location out the other day.
The food here was a good as I have had at any other Cookout location. I love their burgers, hush puppies, BLTs, and milkshakes.
Since this location recently opened, there are some obvious issues with employee training and service. My experience was not horrible, I just think this location needs a little more time to develop their employees.

I tried this for the first time today after having multiple friends tell me about it. It’s basically all American food with the option for quesadilla’s. The prices and the atmosphere made it a 4 star. Outdoor seating, walk up outdoor to go order option, with a drive through as a 3^rd option for ordering. It was packed but the lines moved quick and the food was prepared quickly.
As burger joints are charging more and more it’s refreshing to see two meals for around $ 10 with two sides and a drink for each.
I do recommend especially on a nice day when you can enjoy the sunshine and a burger.
Really enjoyed the slaw and will probably order a hotdog with slaw next time.
The only think I didn’t like was the cheese on the burger. Everything else was good.
