I’m not sure why this place has such low reviews. My kids and I are huge fans of Cold Stone and this particular location is closest to us. The store is always clean and the staff extremely friendly. With our food allergies, the staff is patient with checking ingredients before we order. The only complaint, as with all locations, is the small seating areas, however, this one detail doesn’t stop us from frequenting the store all year round.

Pretty expensive not the best customer servîce I’ve had. Not the cleanest business in the local area. Could use a little work cleaning ut

I LOVE the ice cream from here!!! Every two months, I change my «favorite» ice cream. I used to be a strawberry only girl and that changed with Cold Stone — the sky is the limits! I am always greeted warmly, the staff is happy to take my order and it is always right. On the nights it is packed, they do their best to keep a smile even when customers are rude to them Each ice cream is made to order and that takes a little bit of time which is well worth the wait.

Fyi order a Love It size and you’ll get a Like It size in a Love it cup. Still pay for a Love It. And it’s halfmelted when you get it.

A general thing I look for at ice cream places is how clean it is! This one wasn’t super clean or super busy, so I wish it were more on the spotless level. I had the oreo double chocolate which is a seasonal item, except I got it with dark chocolate rather than chocolate ice cream. It was super sweet! The chocolate devotion with brownies, choco chips, and fudge, is good but super sweet as well. If you have a major sweet tooth and just love diabetes and sugar, then you will love cold stone! However I’m more of a froyo type of girl. However, I will say the mango smoothie is really light and refreshing!

I agree this ice cream is expensive. I usually get the size«gotta have it» and then share 3-ways with my kids. This is a good deal. I’ve never had an issue asking for extra cups. I also always go with a signature flavor, this is also a better deal — and there’s lots of great flavors to choose from… There are lines in the summer time because the gateway walkway is filled with people, and Cold Stone is consistently good. But don’t look for a bargain here. I find the service to be very friendly. The only time I’ve been frustrated, is when there’s a new person who is slow and often stingy with the ice cream. Often the serving is overflowing. If you are on a diet, they have sugar free fat free selections. The WW points value is going to be about 17 to 20 for a ‘like it’ — so this is something to save your points to go and do… There a lots of independent ice cream shops down on 29 «Effies» to try, and I would always recommend these over the big chains like this one.

Every time I’ve gone in this place, there’s a line out the door, and only half of the counter is being utilized to serve up ice cream. They could probably easily accommodate more people by utilizing the entire space. After visiting so many local creameries and ice cream stands, I have to say: I’d have to give it a pass. Maybe I’m just spoiled now, but I can taste the graininess in the ice cream, and realized that what they do is cut the corners on the ice cream, in the hopes that the customer will load it up with distracting addins. I think that in the future, I’ll be sticking to the local small places and skipping the chains.

This location of Cold Stone is very disappointing in it’s consistency and customer service. In my family we love our ice cream and we usually go once a month as a family outing. Every time we have been there in the past year has been a «bang your head against a wall and pray it gets better» experience. First of all, the customer service is HIGHLY lacking. Either these young girls and boys have not been taught the proper way to talk to customers or they just don’t give a hoot. More than once I have asked a staff member a question or said«excuse me?» to get their attention only to have them disappear to the back and never return. I have also been very specific about how I wanted a certain ice cream(I was spoiled by one of their older female staff members, that made our ice cream perfectly), only to have them royally mess it up. Lastly, I had a phone experience that made wish I had never called. Called in to ask if they found a purse(I’m dumb and I lose my purse, wallet, brain all the time). The girl never said, «thank you for calling. blah blah,» instead it was a lost sounding, «hello?» So I give her the spiel about losing my purse and if they found it. The entire conversation that followed was basically her talking to herself and her trying to get me off the phone. Luckily, the place that did find my purse called me the next day. All in all, the ice cream is great(when well made), but the staff needs to go to customer service boot camp.

I have gone here many times as it is the best ice cream I have ever eaten the fans favorite is my addiction, but alas I had to stop going as the staff as you will read in other reviews are dreadful. But I could over look that just for this ice cream the kicker for me was every single time I order two of the pints, quarts, gallons, they never ever fill them the same. One they will fill to the top and the other at times could be up to 4 inches lower. Now you might say get over it but when you pay these high prices you would expect a full carton. Can you imagine even if you bought some lame ice cream from the store and opened it and it was 4 inches from the top you would be put off even then. At these high prices give me what I pay for. It’s just leave me scratching my head how is it you can manage to fill one and not the other. Now this will make you think twice I talked to the manager about this and I was told«that’s how it is done you never know how it will turn out sense we fill it to order by hand» are you fricken kidding me I want to say well then you will never know how much I will be paying you for my order. So if you just cannot do without your cold stone I suggest you make the trip to the Manassas location the staff is so much nicer and they actually know how to fill a carton.

Came in for a lunch ice cream craving. The service was really nice & quick. Typical coldstone. No complaints here. Plus, they usually have coupons in the local mailer at this location which is a plus. They are offering frozen yogurt which I must try soon.

This is not my first choice for ice cream in the area, namely because of the price and the employees. Most of the flavors I have tried here are quite delicious, but I suggest that you sample them before committing to one because I have found some of them to be too rich for my tastes. Some nights the place is calm and everything is smoothly run, but other times I have seen 4 or 5 high school aged girls working with the one«in charge» being no older than 18. This would be fine except that on several occasions the place was a free for all. There were what I figured to be off duty employees walking behind the counter and making themselves ice cream and leaving while people were trying to order, employees gossiping with non-customer friends at the end of the counter and holding up the long line… drove me crazy. I think the simple solution is to avoid this place on the weekends and it will be just fine.

We have come in here several times and I truly enjoy it. Definately pricey. I didn’t find the staff as friendly as other places. One appeared to be having a personal issue and complaining about it, another totally impatient that a customer was taking too long to make up their mind about what to get. Well the place was pretty crowded with a line to the door. S.O. doesn’t like Cold Stone as well as another Gainesville ice cream parlor. Says Cold Stone’s ice cream isn’t as good and they don’t offer coconut or chocolate sprinkles as mixed-ins. This place gets my vote.

Cold Stone is a little higher priced than many better ice cream chains. I stopped into this location tonight to buy a 6 pack of cupcakes and spent $ 13 on them. But, they make them by hand in store and the price is just under being worth it. Overall the place is clean, staff is nice and the location is good(during the summer the parking lots get a little crowded though as it’s in a sort of an outdoor shopping area).
