Okay so I LOVED going to checkers at another location in Tampa. Great service, tasty food, and most of all my orders were usually correct. However, that is not the case with this store. I have come to this store twice and wont make the mistake of coming back. The employees are rude and the management isn’t any better. I came in through the drive-thru and had to repeat my order no less than 6 times. WHICH wouldn’t have bothered me if it was a long order, or complicated one but it wasn’t. It was just a medium #1 combo with a coke and a small fry. Simple enough, right? Apparently not. When I got to the window cash in hand the cashier barely looked at me tried to sell me another item, took my money and shut the window. Right expected, cashiers can be busy. However, I ended up waiting quite a long time at the window for my food and the employees didn’t seem to care that I could see them laughing and horsing around. I got my food and I always check my bag before leaving the drive thru and they gave me the wrong order. Some chicken wings instead of the burger I ordered. I told the cashier it was wrong and she looked confused before snatching, and I mean lightning hands fast snatching, my bag away and told me to park and they’d bring out my order. Fine, so I parked and waited a good 15MINUTES before I received my lunch and hurried back to work. I get that sometimes mistakes happen, so I decided to give them a second chance and instead of going through the drive-thru this time I walked up. Boy was that a MISTAKE. One no one seemed to be watching the front counter and the employees were exhibiting some awfully unprofessional behavior. They were, to say the least, grinding or butt bumping each others crochets. Fine behavior at the club, not at work where people are waiting to be served. I should’ve walked away right then but I was hungry and someone finally noticed me. I ordered. paid. and waited. Service was faster this time, however the fries were soggy and dripping with oil. I showed them the food and said the fries were inedible and was greeted with uncaring faces while once again the bag was not taken from my hands in a kind manor, but was snatched. They left the window open while they conversed about my inedible fries. «They’re fine. I don’t know why they b*tchin’.» One of the employees practically yelled. Before they decided to give me my bag back with edible not so greasy fries. Saying«Here you go b*tch.» before shutting the window in my face. Needless to say I will not be returning here. Frankly, I am surprised any of them still have a job since they obviously don’t care about their customers or food for that matter. I’m surprised management allows this kind of thing to go on since on my second visit the manager was standing just feet away from the employee that called me a ‘b*tch’ and she didn’t say anything. Needless to say I am really disappointed in the service I received on both occasions.

Woo Hoo! Time and time again, I win the Checker’s Lottery! For those of you who don’t know, the Checkers Lottery is when you order one thing, usually under $ 2, and don’t get the small drink and small burger you ordered. Instead you get four deluxe burgers, all the toppings, two spicy chicken sandwiches, a fish sandwich, a large Coke, and a Beuford Burger with two orders of fries. All for only $ 2! What a deal! I highly recommend this place. The trick seems to be to say ‘yes’ every time they try and get you to upgrade. DOIT, you won’t be charged extra! I will hate myself in the morning due to the heavy mayo content that I asked to be excluded, but here I am.

Middle of June I was craving Checkers fries and a cold drink every day at work so I would run to my truck, and rush to get there and back, stuffing my face as I drove to make it within my 30 minute lunch break. I think I went 4 or 5 times in a 2 week span. Most times were good, the lady who took my order was nice and once a guy joking about my silly drink order(half fruit punch, half Sprite). The burger was correct, the fries hot, the milkshake cold and yummy. Then one day I got a really rude chick that asked me three times what drink I wanted and got rude when I finally raised my voice to answer thinking maybe they couldn’t hear me over the outside noise. I asked for a small combo and was charged for and got a medium sized combo even though I asked again at the window before paying if it was small, because the price seemed high. I don’t expect much from fast food places, but this is one of the worst. The 13th street location isn’t much better. I miss the one that was on Archer Road, they were the best one of of the four locations, but now there are just three crappy locations.

Food fit for the garbage and not for human consumption. I was in a hurry on successive nights and had to order take out. All I can say is that they were consistent… BAD.

They weren’t busy, there wasn’t a line. I ordered a chocolate milkshake and the voice from within the speaker stated they no longer carry chocolate but that I could get an orange dream something. So I ordered a banana milkshake. Make no mistake it is banana flavored, no bananas in sight. I also figured WHATTHEHECK I’m at Checkers, I’ll get a small fry. After all, they’re famous for those unique crunchy fries. After getting my shake from, and giving my money to, a less than polite cashier she called to someone for fries and ended up having to get them herself. She was not hiding her disgust. After cramming the bag at me with no specific concern for my happiness, she turned and walked away. Ok, I don’t really need ketchup or anything so thanks. I drove away and when I got to the red light I reached in the bag to hot, but limp and very, very greasy fries that were so far from crunchy I ended up throwing them out! See photo for example. They were not only greasy and limp, but there weren’t very many. Über disappointing and a good indication as to why the Checkers in town are closing down. No one wants to pay their hard earned money for cruddy service and inedible food. Won’t be back.
