So apparently this place has TWO Unilocal pages and after leaving my review on the«andy’s» page, found this one from the official Hwy55 website, so let me a) let everyone in on the other reviews of this page and b) re-hash my experience. Brandon Rich– understand why I will actively spit on your windows next time I go into this shopping center! My experience Thursday night was a joyous 45 minute wait, watching our order of food go to a takeout order and then re ordering just to have the waitress not actually write down our order so of course it was wrong, so my husband and I spoke to the least apologetic manager ever who shrugged at the terrible service. I’ve worked fast food and never sank to the level all employees operated at here. Never coming back!

Okay so this place serves great food and is never busy! The bathrooms are clean and everything is orderly. The wait staff is very nice and fast. They have burgers, fries, milkshakes, cheese steak, onion rings, chicken and frozen custard. Love the cheese steak!

I like the food here, but the service is not the best. Each time I have gone to this place, it seems like there are only a bunch of teenagers working and no real manager on duty.

I am going to be very fair in this particular review. I recently visited this location and learned that the name has changed to Hwy 55 or something like that. Anyhow, here goes. My visit was my first impression. The place seems very busy with groups. When I arrived clearly the restaurant could have had some tables to be wiped down. I sat at the counter which was not very clean at all. In fact, the wait staff seemed more concerned about chatting with one another than basic sanitation skills. I placed my order and received it. The burger had good flavor. However it was a bit on the dry side. From where I sat i could see that the cook kept pressing out the juices which of course would make it dry but cook faster. Thus, a dry burger. The fries were so so without any flavor or salt. Perhaps they don’t salt the fries on purpose? Not sure. Drink was typical fountain. The overall price is very reasonable. What has me giving a rare mediocre score is that the cooks did not wear hats or hair protection as they cooked over the food. I never saw the wait staff use the sink after they had picked up trash and other items from the flood. One waiter sneezed in his hands, picked up food and delivered to another table. He never washed his hands. Basically, i felt the food was ok, but the attention to sanitation ruined my experience. The stool that I sat on was broken. I had to get another one. A quick visual of seating showed that the place is in need of an update. Overall, a decent burger with the potential of being a 5 star once the cook stops pressing all the juices out. Clearly the staff needs a refresher in hygiene and basic sanitation skills training. I will give this place a try again in future.

I have been to this Andy’s twice now, and let me tell you, if you love old fashioned charm, great service, decent food, and a good conversation, then this place is for you. One the first visit to Andy’s I was just passing by, and it was pretty much the only place I knew that I could grab a quite bite on my way to school, so I stopped for a take out. While there waiting for my fresh cooked to order meal, I asked them if they gave student discounts,(which they do, 10%) and if they had WiFi, since the only other place aroudn that did was McD’s. The manager stated he thought they did, but he was not sure if it was secured or not. He was really friendly, and invited me to return, and then gave me a frequent visitors card for a free meal later, if I get it punched enough times. The burger, and the fries were really good. I ordered them all the way, and they put just enough of each condiment that you could taste everything, but not too much that is made the burger sloppy. Some of the fast food chains could learn a thing or two from that. On my second visit, the manager remember me, the entire conversation that we had last time I visited, and picked up right where we left off. Honestly, I was impressed since the fact that I was only in there once ever. Sure, it is a small town, but if it was me, it would take several times talking to a person to remember the detail the way he did. The service that was received was a personal touch, and not like some other place where you are just treated like a person swiping a credit card. The food on the second visit was good, but not as good as the first. I think just too much cheese on the burger or something. But I would still return for it again, so it was not bad. So if anybody is ever passing by, that is one place I would recommend stopping by. The service was great, the price is reasonable, and the food is satisfying.

Enjoy going back in time to the old-school diner days where the waitresses wore poodle skirts and there were classic songs on the radio? Then definitely try Andy’s! I would compare them to Johnny Rockets, only slightly cheaper I think. I really enjoy Andy’s…it’s cheap, usually fast, and the food is good. Sometimes at this location I think the staff can get a little preoccupied with the«regulars» who just happen to be their friends, but all-in-all, definitely worth it. I’ve yet to try the frozen custard at this one, but highly recommend the Andy’s Special, which is a great deal($ 4.99 for a burger, fries, and a drink) and the grilled cheese. Andy’s serves those weird red hot dogs, but don’t be freaked out by them… they actually have a nice crisp outside so there’s a snap to them when you eat them(think Vlasic pickle commercial’s comparison to all the other brands).
