Excellent selection of meats. Dozier’s is that hole in the wall location worth stopping at. The ribs are amazing. The brisket and sausage is also a must. Try the baked potato salad as a side. The staff is always courteous and friendly. Stop in next time you are in the Fulshear area. The smell alone once inside will make you hungry.

I had always heard good things about Dozier’s but I had never been in. I decided to get some carry out for last minute family that was coming by for dinner. The employee that helped me on the phone was very patient and helpful with helping me place my order without ever having seen a menu. She was happy to go over my options and even called back to correct herself on the amount of macaroni they had available. The inside of the store is much bigger than I expected. I thought that it wouldn’t have much seating based on what I had heard, and the size of the exterior, but I was wrong. I will definitely have to come back to dine in. I ordered 2 lbs of the brisket, 2 lbs of sausage, macaroni and cheese, green beans, and baked potato salad. I also bought two pies, and some fresh bacon from their cooler section. The macaroni and baked potato salad was incredible. We will order those for sides more often to help supplement large parties at our house! The Mississippi mud pie was a bit dry, but everything else was good. Overall, the food was flavorful and good, but I feel that the price on things like the fresh meats and pies was a bit steep. We will be back to try more things on the menu!

The barbecue sauce is delicious, the fixins are on a buffet cart for your own design and the meats are mouthwatering, so what else do you need? This place is the go-to lunch spot for The Glass Guys. Thanks for always filling us up! We’re right around the corner, off Rogers, btw. ;)

One of my local hot spots to stop in for some good bbq. Dozier’s is the place to go. I like how it is in Fulshear so its in a little town and has that nice feel to it. I either get the pulled pork or the chopped beef sandwich and the meat is always good and I always get mac n cheese to go with it and potato salad. The mac n cheese is good, I would recommend it with whatever choice you get. But as for a local hot spot I would ask anyone to give this place a shot.

The only thing keeping this place from 5 stars … is the consistency of quality. If you wver find yourself lost in fulsher… and hungry I would propose that you give Doziers a try. Eat in diner or take away meats. You wont go away hungry. Will you leave satisfied? I have been here time and time again over the years and appreciate what they serve. What I dont get is the consistent quality visit over visit. Each visit is hit or miss. This particular visit we found ourselves saying repeatedly«its not that good today». When that happens… there is a problem. The grocery store seems more of a hobby than a focus. The meats is where Doziers shines. They have very good lunch specials and competitive prices for meat. Good luck on your next visit.

Been coming here since the 70s. Was excellent back then. Returned after a 10 year hiatus. Both wife and I ordered the chicken plate. Chicken was definitely reheated(leftover from day before?) Breast so dried out could not eat.

The worst BBQ I’ve ever had — sliced beef sandwich was dry and chewy and the sauce was like water with no flavor. Certainly not your typical tender and moist Texas Brisket BBQ. The ribs were fall off the bone but all that fell off was FAT!!! The ham was like something that had been around for awhile, extremely dry and overcooked. There was no smoke flavor to anything and there was visible smoke ring on the beef. Find someplace else to go. It was not edible. And they didn’t care one bit.

So amazed and grateful I went into this amazing spot! They have a huge selection of homemade preserves and pickled veggies. I love the ingredients too. For ex, «strawberries, sugar, pectin, citric acid» are all the ingredients in the strawberry preserves which is yummy. The bbq is darn delish! My favorite meats are chicken and sausage – perfect texture on the sausage. I loove the baked potato salad… Sooo yummy! The smoke on the pulled pork was perfect. The sauce wasn’t too sweet, smoky, tart, it was just right… Perfect variety of stuff for sale. I picked up baby wipes that were accurately priced. And the place is sooo clean – I love it! I mean like really sanitized and clean. I want to deliver my next baby in there!

I have been here twice now and this is a great place. They have one thing they do well, BBQ, with great pies and cheesecakes. I had the ribs and chicken and slaw. Great stuff all around. I also got the venison jerky, which is great and very unique to the restaurant. My kids loved the Mac and cheese and the sausage is also great too.

I had chopped brisket and pork ribs today. There seemed to be a lack of smoke flavor on both and the brisket was clearly soaked in sauce or some type of vinegar-ish liquid to keep it moist. The ribs were tender and looked good but lacked the smoke flavor i expect from texas bbq. Prices were reasonable and the environment was a step back into the past which i like. Regardless of my three stars i’ll be going back to try more. Mac n cheese was really good.

It is a bar b que joint in a meat market small town with 6 to 10 bench tables but so good. Take your deer there to get it processed. Not many bar b que places do that. The other cool thing it is a small town atmosphere since it is out of Houston.

How can anyone complain about Doziers? They’re right around the corner from my shop(The Glass Guys on Gordon Side Rd.) and we can’t eat there enough! The chopped beef sandwich is awesome, and they got all the fixins right there so you can load it up however you like it. Everyone there is friendly and helpful, and I’ve never had an issue. Dry sandwich? Just ask for more sauce, duh!

True Texas BBQ. These guys were reigning champs at the HLSRBBQ cook offs for years. The meats are high quality and the sauce is just right. I always spend too much at the butcher counter, but I’m always glad when I go the fridge and can pull out done Dozier’s goodies. I really like the condiments bar– it’s loaded with fixins!

My son took a deer there to be processed and they called to say it was ready Dec. 13,2014. They called again last week and said if we were not there by the 23rd of Jan, they would sell it. I arrived Sunday after hunting and went to pick the deer up and they said it was sold. No compensation or anything offered. It is sad since the last deer they did for us(also 2014) with Jerky and sausage was great. i am going back to Junior in Wharton, imagine if this was the only deer we killed this year, it would have been terrible. To many choices where service counts.

After reading all the great reviews of the BBQ, I decided to stop by and give it a try. I ordered 2 chopped brisket sandwiches(one to take home because I was expecting some awesome stuff). The guys that stopped by, ate and Unilocaled 4 stars about this place must have A). Been Starving. B). Only eat microwave dinners C). Are not from Texas so do not know what BBQ should taste like. This is some pretty bad BBQ. Pretty Bad. I do competition BBQ, so I know how BBQ should taste, and it’s not like the stuff these guys are serving.

Let me start by saying that I ate at Elder’s Country Store & Market in Beeville, TX just a week ago. The concept of Dozier’s and Elder’s are very similar. It’s a one unit local BBQ joint housed in a small retail space. That’s where the similarities end. On Saturday I spent $ 32 at Dozier’s on a two meat plate, a loaded BBQ potato and a 2 meat BBQ sandwich w/water… which they charge for… which is ridiculous. The BBQ was good but not great. The week previous I ate at Elder’s in Beeville and had two 2 meat BBQ sandwiches and a bottle of Dr. Pepper and it cost me $ 6. On top of that, it was some of the best BBQ I’ve ever had. Having said all that, I think Dozier’s is expensive average BBQ in a nice environment with nice employees.

I came in for a sliced beef sandwich and some potato salad. The potato salad was really good but the flavor of the briquet was just so so. I like the fact they have a little buffet where you can pick up graded cheese, jalapeños, pickles, and onions. I would probably return, especially if they continue to circulate coupons.

For atmosphere, customer service, nostalgic décor, and history… I’d give this place 5 stars. Dozier’s has been around the block quite a few times, but I am sad to say that they’ve fallen behind a bit when it comes to what ends up on your plate. Birsket and ribs were dry and chewy, which was honestly so disappointing for what this place used to carry with its name. Coleslaw was watery, and green beans, although smoky, were a few days too long in the water. Price isn’t bad, costing you 12.99 for a two meat plate with two sides. Service was friendly and good all the way up to the cash register willing to small talk as long as you wanted to. Walls are lined with that great old 70’s Texas deer camp wood paneling and quite a few mounts are hung throughout the place. They process meat for a good rate and their deli has some great prices on pre-packaged sausage, brisket, etc. ready for the smoker. Sadly a let down for barbecue, but a great time capsule nonetheless for all your other needs.

It was Ok but pricey for what you get. I had a sliced beef sandwich, the brisket was fair but not worth all the hype. I didn’t care for the bbq sauce, it definitely had a ketchup taste. I noticed a giant bottle of hot sauce on the table and used that instead. It turned out to be very good. I also tried the potato salad, while it tasted good it was not a good deal as the portion is tiny while the price is not. A few tablespoons is not worth 2.99. They do have fresh brewed ice tea, Yea!(Have been finding gold peak tea at a lot of other bbq places, Yuck!). I also got a few sticks of the beef jerky for the ride home, not bad… not bad at all. :) If you are in the area it’s not a bad place to get lunch, but its not worth a drive from Houston.
