The Bench Sports Bar

Checked this place out. We met up with friends here. A older place that can use some upgrades. The server and bartender was friendly. Lots of locals. Parking was decent.

The food is average to slightly above average… Definitely nothing to write home about. That being said, the service is amazing and the staff is super friendly. Plus everything is reasonably priced.

Always great service! Great selection of beer and liquor! (Full bar) good food, good atmosphere!!! Love walking over to this place!!! Always have great specials in drinks and food! All the bartenders are frkng awesome!!!

Brian is the only reason this place stays open. The women that work in this bar are horrible. The end.

I’ve been to the Bench several times, and finally doing a write up.
The Bench is located in a shopping center, without a major landmark. The closest thing to a thriving business, may be Vendome Liquors.
The Bench offers indoor and outdoor seating, many large screen tvs for sporting events, a lengthy bar, plus tables, booths, and a jukebox.
The servers are nice, but it needs some magic in there. It reminds me of a place that could use a «rescue.» Many tables are lopsided, which makes it hard to rest your arms on or balance your beer mug.
They do offer food, but I’ve yet to order from the menu.
It’s still a great local place to enjoy with friends.

My friends and I have been making this a regular friday night hang about every other week. Easily dropping a good amount of cash on each visit.
Service is usually good & I like their chicken wings. I order 6 for myself with celery an blue cheese traditional as a dinner. I have even went there without my friends for a craving…
After tonight, I’m not going back. At least for awhile.
There we 6 in my party when I joined them. I ordered a beer, my friends all had beer or Moscow Mules, nachos were on the table and a salad too.
After about 30 minutes and a ½ beer down, I decide to order.
I begin to order my regular, 6 celery only when another in my party says wings sound good. So mid way through change to a 12 piece. Friend likes the carrots regularly served so I say ok carrots too. iI question friends take on ranch, but he says he likes blue cheese.
When the order comes, no carrots for my friend so I ask the server about carrots, which he gladly brings. We all enjoy another round of drinks.
Later my tab comes, I notice a $ 1 charge for the carrots. The server who took the order comes by and I say I would like you to remove that charge from my bill please. You took order.
He tells me I said celery only. Leaving me to explain myself? I say I chaged my order when we decided on 12,. Server says, you asked your friend and he said it didnt matter. Which is true, but I said (knowing he likes carrots) that we will take carrots.
In any case he goes on to say «well just this time I will…» basically telling me I am wrong. So I say, you know what do what ever you want… And your tip will reflect your choice.
I work in a beauty salon. I tip well. Always 20% usually more. He recieved a 10% tip based on his argument, and telling me I didnt order what I know I did.
Maybe he deals with a bunch of intoxicated people, but I had a ½ glass of beer when i ordered and know what I asked for. I also come from a customer service backgound.
Needless to say, I dont plan on returning. I will ask my friends to meet at Brians next time. I go out to have a good time, and he ruined it for me tonight.

I can walk to it from my apartment, the girls are always chill who are working and they have a really good chicken sandwich. I think blackened avocado? Anyways… I you bench

They have pickle back shots here. The beer is cold, not sure about the temperature though. The people who work here are nice on the eyes. They have a restroom facility. They serve food here, I didn’t get anything though. The bartender brought our drinks and then checked our IDs, like are you going to take them back if we aren’t 21? Anyways, see ya.

So I’m watching my Seattle Seahawks vs the Carolina Panthers, and Tanya the manger comes over after I call her because I have discrepancy with the bill.
They charged me 12.50 instead 7.50 what are bartender LeeAnna told us.
She tells us we are rude and that since my girlfriend Deaonna wrote a Unilocal!!! Review 2 weeks ago that we shouldn’t be served.
Whoa!!! We just got are check for $ 96 plus bucks when it should have been around $ 70. If she didn’t like us she could of told us to leave from the begin.
(Oh yea she couldn’t she chilling with her daughter in the back of the restaurant)
Now mind you I’ve been coming here for 2 years every since my girlfriend moved to Fullerton down the street. That’s two whole season of football.
Are only problem is that there under staff during football season and I’m assuming the owner doesn’t care, it’s very packed and chaotic making it hard to get a table or seat plus sever.
Now are new problem is Tanya. She told us to leave or she calling the cops but Frist we had to pay the bill.
Ridiculous she needs to be fire or they need a new owner.
Costumer beware of the service.

A very mediocre and loud sports bar where people are bumping into each other and takes too long for the staff to take the order.

So it kind of sucks when you’re sitting here with an empty beer and the owner and the staff are drunker than you are. It’s not like we are new here. We have supported this bar weekly for years. Guess it’s time to move on to a new place that appreciates our money. Kind of sad and disappointing.
So I have to add. This has been my favorite bar for the past few years and this was one bad experience among many many good.

What in the world was management thinking? Today, NYE, with bowl games on…1 person working!!! Poor girl has a bar full of people ready to eat lunch and have a drink! Awful planning!!!

Not tourist friendly since they kicked us out for having AZ drivers licenses since we are out of state students that live in the apartments across the street. Apparently they don’t have the means to check out of state IDs I am 27 with a beard but it was still an issue for them which I kind of understand since they are close to the university but don’t risk it unless you have a CA license. We have been here before for apps which are really good but all fried, not very vegan friendly. I gave 1 star for the apps but since it is a sports bar only catering to locals, it is more of a club and very white like a VFW.

That french dip sandwich they have is tasty. Beset one I’ve had in a while. Good beer selection and the interior is nice. Good place to go watch football.

The Air conditioning inside is rock in! So cold it feels nice on a hot day. The Moscow mules are delicious. 7 $ well and for a specialty vodka add2 $. Reasonable for sure. Lots of different beers on tap. No one under 21 is allowed after 8pm. Good times.

Been here a couple times nothing really makes it special so you would expect great service especially customer service tried to call a couple times tonight just to get information on whether or not they were still serving food and they answered the phone and hung it up right away called back no answer …

This is the perfect sports bar. We used to come when it was originally Mickeys. They changed and updated the entire place and it looks great! It’s more open, more spacey, and better quality altogether.
The food is great! Made to order, they have a little bit of everything and it is GOOD! They have great appetizers too!
The wings are my favorite!
TV’s all over, pool table, Sundays they have build your own Bloody Mary bar, they have darts, clean bathrooms, and friendly bartenders who actually check on you to make sure you are doing great.
We will be back for sure!

I had the BLT with avocado and french fries. It was one of the best BLTs I’ve ever had! The inside was super clean and no complaints about the service!

I love coming here, the staff treats you like you’re family. :-) I’m excited for football season to come back around along w/​their great Sunday brunch.

Food: Excellent for bar food. Pizza, burgers, sandwiches, wings, gourmet salads, and kickass appetizers. Their pizza is a solid B+ quality, and the burgers are great.
Atmosphere: Brand new Golden Tee on an HD flat screen, what seems like 100 HD TV’s all over the place, and bartenders who actually know what games matter and they put the right ones on the premier viewing locations. One of those jukeboxes that are modern where you can select and buy music on your smartphone.
Very good service, which is the key component of my rating. Brian & Amber are the primary bartenders when I go on FRI nights, but Becky and Kyle are also very good. I never wait more than a few minutes for my next round.
Bartenders are cool about switching TV’s if you really want to watch a certain game. They have MLB Extra Innings, NFL Ticket, and NBA league pass. Perfect for a sports bar.

The worse service I have ever experienced in all of the sports bars I have been to!
Waited and Waited for servers to get behind the bar and take our order. They are always too busy chatting with each other or friends who visit them. Was a inconvenience for most of them to get out from behind the bar.

Visited the Bench Sports Bar last night with a few work friends. It was Happy Hour time, but not too crowded.
Cheap Drinks. Decent Food. Decent Service. No complaints.

I will give it 2 stars for service. Only thing she only came around only when we flagged her down 2 times. She focused at the bar people only. Chatting with them mostly. Didn’t ask how our food was. Glee both got the burger. And u can tell it was processed meat. Bread was soggy and hard to pick it up. Way to much sauce on mine. When butting into it. All came out the sides.

Avocado tempura is the best! This bar has amazing food and good service.
Beer selection is ok.

While the service was good, the food was just mediocre and the prices they charge for the food are pretty ridiculous. For example, don’t order the fries because they’re literally child size portions. The pizza was standard (pricey and the flavor reminded me of costco pizza) and the wings were just okay.
Anyways, they have a decent selection on tap and have plenty of flatscreen TVs for your sports viewing pleasure so if you just want to grab a beer (without food), this isn’t a bad spot. Also they have a nice pool table in the back of the room.
Can’t really call this place a dive bar because the inside is pretty nice. The interior is literally one giant room, nothing is sectioned off… kind of feels like you’re sitting in your man cave.

The ultimate sports bar, period! I have been coming here for a good while, but this place earned my business on my first visit. If you want a quality sports experience to go along with great service, this is your place to go.
You wouldn’t know it from the outside but once you walk in the layout of the bar makes an immediate positive impression, it’s very clean and fresh. The people who work here are probably one of the biggest reasons I keep coming back. The whole staff is friendly and willing to make your experience more than satisfactory. From Brian, Amber, Colleen, Kyle etc. They definitely make you feel welcome and in time they feel more like a friend than just a bartender.
The food has taken a jump since they redid their menu. The pizza is always a solid choice but if you’re in the mood for a healthier alternative, they do offer some as well. They always have a great selection of beer on tap and practically any liquor or mixed drink you would want.
But if you were to come for only one reason, come to watch football on Sundays. It’s what they hang their hat on. The experience of having a plethora of games to choose from, big screens everywhere, is more than worth it to the football or fantasy fan. They will even accommodate requests for certain games on tv if allowable. The atmosphere during the big games is awesome. There are plenty of locals here who represent certain teams and they all couldn’t be better people to interact with. No assholes here. I’ve been coming here on Sundays for 2 years, any new fans are more than welcome. It’s is not a Cowboy bar, Raider bar etc. A pretty good representation of teams every Sunday.
I would recommend this place to anyone. Unless I have a commitment I can’t break, I’m here on Sundays and you should be too.
