Ordered the fish and shrimp combo and it was pretty disgusting. The fish had this heavy batter which was still a bit raw and doughy on the inside. The fish also had a not so fresh aftertaste even with a heavy squeeze of lemon. The shrimp was overdone and tough, and also had a real fishy taste which means it wasn’t so fresh either. $ 10 down the drain as I couldn’t take more than a couple bites. Don’t serve seafood if you don’t know what you’re doing, and by the way if you burn your food don’t serve it if you want to stay open.

They have the best Breakfast Burrito in town. They don’t skimp on portions. The service was friendly. Bring cash.

Three stars is about right for this place. Nothing amazing, but not bad. Went to Nick’s initially to see Gary’s Classic Car show after already having been in Brea to see another car show. After looking at some pretty nice vehicles here, we decided to check out the viddles. It was quite busy, which is a good sign. The place is clean and has a decent salsa bar. You would think, at least I did, that they would specialize in mostly burgers. And maybe they do. They do have plenty of options of burgers. But there is a big selection of mexican food also, which is always good for me. I went with the very large veggie burrito, wet with green sauce and queso on top. It was pretty good, though it could have been a little more flavorful. And it could have been hot. The ingredients were only lukewarm; would have been much more satisfying if it were hotter. It was more than I could eat. And the price was right. Also ordered the onion rings. Blah. Only thing that made them worth eating was the dipping sauce. But service was great and employees were nice.

I first dined here last year(2012) and liked it because they offer a vegetarian burger as well as a burrito which many similar independent burger joints don’t have. However, the food was only average and the portions seemed to be small. However, this last time I went in late January of 2013, the portions were much bigger and the quality seemed much better. I was really hungry and ordered too much thinking back to the small portions I remember on my previous visit. This time I ordered both the veggie burrito and the veggie burger, as well as curly fries and a diet soda. Everything seemed super sized with the exception of the curly fries(although the curly fries serving was ample). The veggie burrito was delicious and large with beans, cheese, lettuce, sour cream, and guacamole. I would have liked the cheese more melted but other than that the burrito was really tasty and filling. The veggie burger was really good as well but prepared more nutritiously than I remember the first time, with a wheat bun and guacamole instead of dressing to moisten the sandwich. The curly fries were the typical curly fries – a little salty for my taste but very filling. The prices are reasonable considering the large portions I had on this trip. There is also a drive-thru which I like as it is very convenient. However, if you want to dine in, there is a large indoor seating area as well. The servers were very friendly each time I went which makes for a more pleasant dining experience, too.

Unilocal doesn’t seem like a big fan of Nick’s Super Burgers. This was a recommendation from a friend. I thought the place looked shady, so I decided to go for the drive thru. You know how your first time would either make it or break it for you? I ordered the California Burger, and boy, that burger made it for me. The burger was amazingly sinful, and I don’t mind putting in a lot of calories if the burger was that good. Their fries are heavenly too. Also, don’t forget to bring cash. There’s an ATM, and they could use your credit card, but it comes with a charge. Rather, bring cash, and get yourself a drink instead of paying for that fee. —- I seem to love their food, why the lack of star? Call me paranoid, but I wouldn’t dare dine in «alone» in this place.

NOTE: Before you think of trying Nick’s out, know that unless you have cash, your transaction will be assigned to their register’s ATM. Nick’s does not accept credit cards, so in having to use their ATM, you will have no choice but to pay the ATM’s convenience fee of $ 1.50. This«convenience fee» may ironically be an inconvenience to us – the consumers – but hopefully this practice is set in place to counter the interchange fees that merchants are forced to pay for credit card transactions. After all, these soaring fees are not easy for independent businesses to come by. This savings, in turn, is then passed down to us – fingers crossed – by way of lowered costs. In summary: it’s cheaper if you just bring cash. :) This in mind, let’s move ahead to the review… To begin with, I first have to question the term«Super» in the restaurant’s name and description of its burgers. That solitary word – «Super” – was enticing. If you are going to crown your burgers with a title such as would describe the Man of Steel, you really have to be ready to step up! I mean it! Your integrity is on the line here! And so it was on this given day, I felt compelled – hypnotically charmed – to signal right off of Orangethorpe, park, and investigate. To make a long story longer, I ordered Nick’s Double with Cheese. I’m thinking, «Let’s test this burger’s limits!» My gauge, you ask? Well, so far it’s been In-N-Out’s Double-Double, the closest burger that I have yet to know as to being«super.» I say this with hesitancy, as I am more than willing to allow for a new régime. It just hasn’t happened yet. Anyway, I ordered, sat, and waited. I was order number 32. The deliverence was lackluster at best. There were no exploding fireworks, no parting of the seas. No cleavage-exposed Kate Upton’s slowly unbuttoning pink sweaters. No bikini-clad, high-heeled Paris Hilton’s washing black Bentley’s in the parking lot. No Sara Underwood Playmates dressed down to Daisy Duke’s, BBQing Memphis-style pork bellies under an oppressively hot sun. Nope. Nothing. In fact, if it weren’t for the two patties, I’m not sure that I would have tasted much beyond the bun: . I mean, it was OKAY. It wasn’t horrible. But it wasn’t «super» either. I guess what makes everything a little better is the service. I mean, don’t expect anyone to come and wait on you. You’re kind of on your own once your order has been delivered, but you’re self-sufficient. The price was not bad at all, and the staff was very nice. I liked that about Nick’s. I’ll return. Not for anything«super» next time, but maybe I’ll shoot for«simple.» In that way, I won’t feel let down, having before expected something much more.

TMZ is the worst thing to happen to television and it was playing on all the TVs. With that said, let’s review the restaurant. So… «Meh.» Place wasn’t dirty or sparkling, serviceable overall. A bit warm when I went(midday early spring) like they don’t have A/C. No biggie. Breakfast is all day, which I always like, so I got hash browns & eggs with toast. The hash browns seemed like they were stale(somehow), and the eggs were runny. I wouldn’t refuse outright to eat here again if a friend or someone just *LOVED* the place, but I won’t be likely to go back myself. PS — bring cash, the ATM fee is hefty.

Very tasty food i use to come here almost every day but I got a girlfriend so she cooks at home. None the less their food is pretty good or atleast what i have had. The wet burrito is super amazing. Just prepare to go to sleep afterwards it will knock you out. Their burgers are pretty bomb too fries are nice and thick. and i know there are like motorcycle meets and VW meets so if your into one of those two you can see some pretty sweet stuff.

I went in for breakfast. It was pretty bad. I had scrambled eggs, hash browns and sausage with a cup of coffee. The eggs were very dry, the hash browns were chewy. The sausage was good and the coffee was very good. It cost just short of $ 7.00. I would give 1 star for service. The waitress never refilled my coffee. The restaurant is large but was empty at about 8AM on a week day morning. The egg portion was large but the hashbrown portion was very small. I wouldn’t return because there are really good breakfast places around like Georges. Even McDonalds across the street would have been better.

I’ve been here several times, and the food is consistently good. The hamburgers are big, filling, and delicious, with probably over a quarter pound of meat, I’m guessing. The fries are really good too, and the price isn’t TOO expensive. Not when you consider the quality/quantity of food, anyway. Overall, 5⁄5 every time.

Pretty average for a little burger place. 4 Stars for the variety and awesome prices. Maybe its not top notch food but, really, who can beat 2 for $ 1 tacos on Tuesdays? Theyve got a ton of other good deals on combos and breakfast. The staff was sooo kind and welcoming. The first thing i noticed was the smiles and great attitudes. A lovely surprise. Will definitely be coming back to support a local joint as cool as this one.

I have only ever eaten breakfast here, but it has always been really good and very reasonably priced. Last time I went here I got a ham and cheese omelet, wheat toast, hash browns, and coffee for like $ 8.50 after tax. You can’t beat that with a stick. The breakfast burritos are really good too, and again a great bargain. I certainly recommend this place for a quick, simple, and inexpensive breakfast.

**Updated** You can read my original review below(under the line). I gave this place a 3, at first, but then. After I returned a few weeks ago I went there to get my Orange Bang and when I went to pour my drink I noticed some specks in it, I took a closer look and fruit flies were buzzing around the machine. There were fruit flies around the spout and some probably got stuck/died around the edge which caused them to fall into my cup. Yeah… I’m not going back. That just ruined my experience and made me lose my appetite for my food. I mean, that’s an obvious problem that could be fixed, so who knows how the rest of the food is being handled and what’s being neglected. __________________________________________________________ This is pretty much your standard Mexican owned burger joint. This means good food, large portions and decent prices. The food is never«great» which is why I can’t give this place more than a 3, and on days/nights when they have a car show, forget about going here. It’s packed and you will be waiting there for a very long time. I like to go here for my horchata, orange bang, or burger fixings. If you like fried food, try the mushrooms or zucchini. Everything is really up to par, so if you’re around the area, and want a burger or a burrito then yeah I’d say it’s safe to stop by. Remember it’s cash only, but they do have an ATM machine inside.

Not so friendly place and not so good food. Nick H wanted to go here… I wanted to go to Maggie’s taco. I got this nachos thing and it was kinda yucky. The first bite was not bad but I didn’t like it anymore after few bites. The cheese tasted funny and my carnitas was too fatty. Yes, I know carnitas is greasy but the meat to fat ratio should not be more than 50 percents. Churros(banana, strawberry and cream) and frankly they all tasted similar. just different colorings. I was hoping yummy churros after my meal but NO… just yucky. The only thing that was banging was the Orange Bang. You don’t have to yell at me when I take a picture of your place. Just tell me nicely not to take the picture. Btw I can buy your food and take the food picture anyways. I can eat the food(I ate a little bit), take pics(yes I took A LOT of pics of my nachos and churros O YEA) or throw them away(I did that too). 1 star-no more. no less. should’ve gone to Maggie’s taco instead. Good thing we have jelly cups or I would be so cranky. Nick’s Burgers is not yummylicious!

A Burger, Filled Churros, and a Bang! I was suckered into trying banana, strawberry, and cream filled churros(2 Stars) by deliciously tantalizing photographs. The burger(1 Star) was a thin patty surrounded by whatevers. 5 Star Orange Bang! I came here with a group of Unilocalers, including Maggie C. ~Ambiance-No Photos and being Yelled at– 1 Star The restaurant is spacious and the staff are pretty friendly except when they yelled and complained about taking photographs. If I owned a restaurant I would be proud and would want people to take photos. Quite frankly, the way I was spoken to ruined my meal. It is probably the reason I disliked my burger as much as I did. With a name like Nick’s, it’s gotta be good? NOPE! Can’t we all Unilocal along?

Whenever i’m in the mood for some old style burgers and steak fries, this is where I go. They have a hamburger combo for only $ 4.99 but i’m a cheeseburger fan and pay the extra $ 1. ALWAYS ask for extra spread on the burgers, it’s so dry. The pro to the burger is that it’s huge, filled with goodies and great tasting bun&meat. Their fries are absolutely delish! I love huge steak fries. Today I had their breakfast burrito and their eggs were fluffy and not OVER salty at all. It was good. I can’t say it’s as good as Alvaro’s but it’s in the same region. Wish their salsa was a bit spicier too, you can hardly taste any spice so I had to use Tapatio.
