This place closed down but Esther, the hair stylist moved another salon in Fullerton. I came in wanting to dye my hair reddish brown hair and she did my hair just as I wanted. I LOOOOOOVE MY HAIR!!! This is my second time coming here. I found out about this place from my girlfriend. Each time I came here I had a good expierence. They massaged my scalp as they washed my hair. After they cut my hair the way I wanted it. As they were cutting my hair they gave me styling tips. If you want a good expierence ask for Esther.

For most of the time, I am unsure of what I want to do with my hair, then I walk into this salon wanting to do something. Knowing that I have long damaged hair she recommended that I do a Keratin perm (brazillian blowout). I am very skeptical about perms because my hair does not like to stay ‘pretty’ as it was done at a salon after one shower. But I thought I’d give it a try since Esther has always cut my hair the way I imagined it to turn out.
I am so glad I listened to her; my uncontrollable hair has calmed down A LOT and it looks healthy! HEALTHY!!! Now I can think of even coloring my hair in the future here:) Oh yeah, she cuts guys’ hair really well too. My bf loves it and more importantly I am more than satisfied.

This is my go place for my hair. Esther is great! She knows my hair and recommends the best for me. I’ve been a loyal customer since 2007 and have had the Japanese straight perm, digital perm, brazilian keratin treatments done over the years. Each time I go, my hair looks like a million bucks! I trust her with my hair and will not go anywhere else.

I’ve been coming to this salon for over 4 years and I never walk away unhappy. Esther cuts hair like she’s been doing it her whole like, which evidently is the case. I bring all of my friends to her and they completely agree that there is a such a difference when getting their hair cut by Esther than any other «professional» in the trade. She listens to what you want and but is honest enough to tell you her opinion if you suggest something that may not work for your face shape of hair type. The salon is clean, fully stocked with the necessary tools (high end flat irons and such), and you’re always treated like a valued customer even if it’s your first time coming in. Come see Esther! You will not regret it.

They’re okay.
I did my hair cut, digital perm and hair coloring for $ 180. I was going from a long hair to a short length hair so that was an adventure for me to take for a first-​time salon but Esther did a great job in determining the length for me.
The perm was okay but not great. I had a better experience elsewhere. This was a 2^nd digital perm I did and I’ve found that the curls go loose faster compared to other kinds of perm. I like tighter curls so that was a bummer for me. Ironically though, the hair looks more natural.
It’s sad that the day 1 look doesn’t last that long.
I don’t like the way they colored my hair. I requested that they color my hair with my natural hair color tone but they went way darker… way way darker. It’s not that they didn’t know. they even commented that my hair color was a bit bright for an Asian. So they should’ve known. One good thing I would say though is that they applied some treatment to my hair prior to coloring seeing that my hair had been damaged from previous chemical treatments.
Time-​wise, they spent about 4 hours for doing all this and I think that’s too long. I was starving and tired. They also served 2 – 3 customers at the same time so I’m assuming that’s why I had to wait in between, even though I made an appointment with them.
Overall, if you go to any Korean hair salon, the experience will not differ so much from this one. I’m glad that my hair still looks good after a month and a half but I think I’m going to do my perm and color elsewhere next time.

got a haircut here. for $ 30, it didn’t look very good at all. i think i expect a little bit of creativity for this price point — instead, i got kind of a bowl cut. she prattled on about how it was the latest fashion, but come on, this is too much.

I liked them so much that I went back to them for MY pre-​wedding skin care and day-​of hair and makeup (along with my bridesmaids and my mom and aunt). They did a great job all around. When one of my bridesmaids flew in, she took one look at me and said, «you got skin care, didn’t you?» So, needless to say, it worked/​showed. They did a great job on the hair and makeup, too. Esther personally handled all of our makeup and my hair, which everyone thought looked great. I’ve moved too far away to go there right now, but I would recommend them to anyone!

Today I enjoyed a trim from a wonderful stylist at Kim Sun Young Beauty Salon. Diana did my trim, her and her mom were cool. Her mom was so perfect for customer service, warm and freindly personality. Diana was a cool person to talk with and she gave me a great haircut too. They have a website and locations in NY, Chicago, Australia, Korea and many in the L.A./O.C. area.
I walked in by accident, I took a wrong turn trying to find a supercuts which was on a map but maybe does not exist. I saw this place because it is next door to a hawaian fast food restaurant. I looked and saw they had different beauty treatments but I only needed a haircut. Then I saw blow dryers and figured I guess they can cut my hair and I am glad.
Diana did a good job on my hair and I enjoyed discussing a little korean television drama show with her too. The trim and shampoo was 20 bucks, more than a supercuts or FS, but, I am worth it.
If you come by here, its on the cross of Orangethorpe & Harbor near the 91÷5÷57 fwys. Rather convenient being on the same lot as Target, fast foods of many ethnicities, Healthfood, gym, clothes, shoes, tires and more nearby. I will probably be back sometime within the next 1 – 2 weeks. While I cannnot speak on the fancier-​schmancier haircuts, I got a nice short flat-​top trim.
I have been to many stylist in the past year, I think I have found my long term stylist.

i’ve done some research on what’s called a «digital perm» and decided that’s what i wanted. but then someone posted online that a lot of salons don’t have this new technology yet. so it’ll probably be harder to find one that did digital perms.
enter Kim Sun Young salon! i called this place because i had noticed that a lot of young korean girls have their hair permed… and they had the digital perm machine!!!
esther was VERY nice. korean people (my apologies if this offends you) don’t have a great reputation of good customer service, but esther was great! she asked me to come in first so she can evaluate my hair to see if it was healthy enough for a perm. this showed me that she cared about her clients and didn’t just want the appointment.
when i got there, they were in the middle of lunch, so she sat me down and had me look through a folder of pics. i thought it was a little rude at first to schedule an appointment with me and to have lunch at the same time, but then realized that i needed that time to decide exactly how i wanted my hair. we talked and talked. she listened to what i wanted and gave suggestions based on my hair type. it was nice because ive encountered a number of hairdressers that halfass listen to my request and then just go for whatever floats their own boat. esther was very professional and let me express the style i wanted.
the digital perm took forevvvvverr. with two girls working on me, i was in there from 1pm-​4pm. nonetheless, i love my perm. i was nervous to get it at first, but esther really did give me some ease.
the only thing that wasn’t too great was the price. dang i should have gotten a quote beforehand!!! i won’t tell you the price because im too embarrassed to have spent that much.
i’ll be sleeping under a bridge for the next month…
but hey! ill be begging for $$$ with style ;o)
