We initially thought of buying old older games from eBay but the condition of these used disks can be unreliable when purchased online. We then thought of buying from Gamestop but honestly, these stores are ran by a bunch of soulless corporate scumbags. They prey on the whim of young kids, who in turn will harass their parents to spend a fortune in overpriced video games. For example, you can buy a used game for $ 27.99 while a new game is $ 29.99. Seriously?! We now have shopped in at least over 6 Gamestop stores with one being this one in Fullerton, CA. The people who work this particular store are nice enough but you can tell that they hate the way they have to sell their crap, too.
We used our favorite website, Unilocal, and now several small merchants that sold used video games for cheaper prices and had great customer service. Sorry, Gamestop. Will not shop at your store again.

Stupid policy. Won’t let you trade in a new game, walked in the store with game still in plastic and they wouldn’t take it. Still wouldn’t accept it if I unwrapped it. Told I would have to go to different store after j had opened my new game I wanted to trade. Dumb. Go to best buy instead. No wonder GameStops are going downhill

Surprised at all the negative reviews. Every time I’m here to preorder or purchase a game, every single employee has been very pleasant and helpful. Came at opening time today and David was able to help me with preordering The Division and explained to me the differences between the three available versions they provide. Again, it was a great experience and I will continue to get all my gaming needs here at this GameStop.

This review is in regards to one employee in particular, David F. Today I received a shipping notice on my phone that the order I placed a week ago had arrived at this Gamestop, So I decided to go and pick it up with my order copy and receipt. When I arrived there I gave David my papers and explained what I was there for, he told me that unless they called me and told me the item was ready, it hadn’t arrived and started handing me back my papers. I then showed him the shipping notifications on my phone, so only then did he decide to go into the back and actually look for it. Low and behold he came out with my item, he tried to say that he didn’t get any paperwork regarding this order so he didn’t think it would be there.
On a different visit, different employee, I purchased a game which didn’t have the box or box art, So I asked if there were any stores nearby that actually had it, He called up the closest one and told me that they had then put it on hold for me. I drove to the other Gamestop and they told me that they had the box art, but for the PS3 version instead of the PS4 version that I had bought because the employee did not specify.
I’ll be going to a different Gamestop from now on, if any at all.

First I wanna start by saying me and my family loves gamestop. I have 3 kids and one husband who loves gaming as well so we enjoy gamestop. But this particular location, I wouldn’t suggest to anyone. At first glance this looks like a regular gamestop, but once you enter, and look around we instantly felt like this was not the normal vibe of a gamestop. They only have 2 register’s Wich is not unusual, accept for the fact that the store is the size of a car garage. With all the displays up, and gaming racks around expect to be bumbing into other customers the whole time you are in the store. There were about 5 employees we noticed working this day, so we didn’t understand how they were so unorganized. There was one line in this tiny store backed up all the way to the entrance, so as soon as you enter you see a long line, now again not unusual but after we spent a good 30 min standing in line we finally hit the front, and that’s where we realized what was going on. We sat in the front of the line for another 15min watching these employees, literally just help anyone who walks up. You can walk up from the side ignore the line in the middle and you can get assistance. Now again only 2 register’s so they were buying, selling, trading, all in front of this long line that is constantly growing from customers who only want to buy. As time went on people began to just sit on the side of the register’s like it was a car wash waiting room, just hanging out and they got helped before this long line of customers who just wanted to buy, And to make matters worse we were asked by 2 employees wearing some strap like laptop bags if we needed help, knowing we were obviously in line to pay for our items. So both times we waived them off by saying no sir just trying to pay. And then like clock work they would disappear inside this back room. Now after standing in this line for 45 min 30 to get to the front and 15 up at the front one register was buying this man’s items but it took him about 25 min to end that exchange and the other register kept assisting people waiting on the side of the line rather than the customers who were in the line to only buy. I wondered why the 2 gentlemen earlier asking all of the customers in line to buy if we needed help, why didn’t they ask any of the customers who were waiting on the side of the register’s if they needed any help. But anyway even after all that it’s now been almost an hour and we finally are called next, we approach the register just ready to pay and exit, we hand over all of 3 games, and the gentleman tells us they don’t have this particular game, in stock, he then asks us if we can think of another game we want off of the top of our heads. Now at any other location they would 1^st apologize, and then ask us if we wanted them to check another location. Maybe they would have it in stock, or maybe they could possibly order it, and we pick it up later, But none of those options were given. There was an awkward silence and we were left speechless. So that’s when my husband told them to just cancel this transaction and we just walked out not informing them that we’ll if your out of this game you might want to remove all the cases off of the shelves because they had cases for this particular game everywhere. This store has more than enough employees needed it seemed but again no organization what so ever. Had more fun talking to other customers waiting in line then we did at this tiny, overstocked on cases, but has no games, full of unorganized employees of a store. Stay away from this one fellow gamers.

The girl seriously needs to work on her attitude. I was there for an hour explaining to her and the other guy how THEIR promotions worked for pro members. I truly understand that when you’re new, you might mess up or not know how to do some things, and that’s okay. If she said something even remotely close to, «sorry I’m new, thanks for waiting» or even a simple «sorry,» it would have sufficed. But no. She did not say a single word to me. The only communication we had was her obvious scoffing and loud sighing while whining to her coworker. In the end, I got what I needed, but only because I had to babysit them the entire way, and tell them how their own store policies work, step by step. As long as she has that attitude, I would recommend everyone to take their business elsewhere.

This was a perfect stop for a game purchase. Front Sales Associate made me feel more than just satisfied, I was comfortable. I was there for maybe an hour and David, the man that helped me, gave me his best thought out opinions, hints and tips, and most of all his patience. (He didn’t give me an attitude for taking long or for roaming around the store for a long time) I left with a New Game and 2 POP Vinyl Figures. I’ll be back within a month.
PRO: He didn’t push me into buying pre-​orders or buying anything that I wasn’t interested in. He cared more about my comfort and satisfaction than just racking up sales.
CON: NONE.

I love this GameStop there place is really good I love it I would go to this GameStop from all the others ones I love the worker he was really nice !! We need more ppl like him in our lives

I love this location! Never had a problem with customer service here. I recently traded in a bunch of old games and two old systems to put towards the Destiny/​PS4 bundle. They were super helpful with the trade in. A few weeks after that, when I decided to trade-​in my old iPod touch and iPad, the guy helping me said there was a tiny gap in the casing of my iPad and that they could only give me $ 38 dollars because of that, but otherwise it was in perfect condition and I should try my luck on craig’s list. I loved that he was giving me his honest opinion on what was the best option for me. He was right too, I sold that sucker through craigslist and then came back in and put that money down on my pre-​order.
Sadly, I won’t be shopping at this location much longer because I’m moving, but I do have one more comment about their excellent customer service. Since I’m moving before the release of Destiny, I wanted to transfer my order to a store closer to my new place and between the two stores, my request was completed effortlessly over the phone. They really saved me a lot of hassle and driving.

We went to turn in a perfect working x box. The girl gives us a amount of $ 38 then she presses a button lightly and says it doesn’t work so the amount for trade in is $ 15. We press the button for next straight 5 minutes. It constantly works. It is evident it works. In front of her eyes and ourw. She still refuses to give us the $ 38. She was rude and GRUMPY. Worse gamestop ever.

This actually used to be my go-​to Game Stop for years. That changed though with the release of Halo 4. I’m a huge Halo fan and ever since the 2^nd one have always pre ordered the special editions, that was until this release. My wife had gotten pregnant and money was tight and as far as I was concerned I wouldn’t be getting this Halo for a while. Well, my mother in law got me a $ 100 gift card to Gamestop, the perfect amount for the Special Edition of Halo. Now, I’ve worked at Gamestop before, as well as Game Crazy and the Games department in Best Buy. I know how pre-​orders work. I also know, not everyone picks up their copies and some even get cancelled last minute. And I was determined to try and track down a special edition, so I called all the local Gamestops. I called the first and no go, but the person on the other line was super cool about it. I call this location next and asked if they happened to have any extras. I got a quick, cold «Did you preorder?» «No but…» «Then no, we don’t have any.» «Well, I know that sometimes people cancel theirs and I wanted to check if…» «No. These are all spoken for.» Hang up. Completely dismissed and made to feel like crap because I didn’t pre-​order. Now, you might be thinking «Well, he’s right, you should have pre-​ordered.» True, but there are better ways to handle this situation which I’ve done myself, as did the 4 other locations I called: «You know what man, I’m really sorry. These are all spoken for. We hold pre-​orders for x amount of days, so if you’d like call back then. Better yet, we have some trade-​in specials if you’re trading in to purchase this specific game. Why don’t you come in sometime soon, see if we can’t hook you up?» You’ve turned a disappointing experience into a positive and hopeful one. You respond that way, like you want to help me out, I want to give you my business. And it was this approach that all the other stores I called used as well. I decided to call back the Orangethorpe store because the experience left such a bad impression and asked to speak to a manager. Called and asked to speak to a manager and got the same dude. «Why do you want to speak to a manager?» the guy asked. I explained I didn’t appreciate being spoken to and dismissed the way I was. «That was me. I’m the manager. We don’t have any more copies unless you pre-​order. That’s why we tell people to pre-​order.» I asked for the corporate line and he seemed surprised and put me on hold for freaking ever before finally giving it to me. I was totally taken aback. I had never had such crappy service with so much attitude at a Gamestop. I eventually made my way to the Chapman/​State College location with my wife where she decided to ask for me as I was shopping for something else. The clerk said «Let me go ahead and double check… Actually, yeah! Someone just cancelled theirs earlier!» I couldn’t believe it. The guy was also nice enough to throw in the pre-​order extra codes as well. It was awesome. I e-​mailed corporate to let them know about the terrible service at Orangethorpe as well as the awesome service from the State College location. I went in a couple weeks later to the State College location and asked if they’d heard from corporate. They said no but thanked me for the kind words. This has now become my go to store. Everytime I’m in there the employees are always very helpful and incredibly friendly.

When I wanted a certain game for my son, they saved it for me … It was the wrong one, well I don’t know that much about that stuff, so I called back @ 8:38 pm that same evening asking if they could save a similar one the guy argued with me on the phone for 5 min, were closed … Were closed … Were closed, when he could if just checked !!! As a business owner I go above & beyond for customers if I was there, I would have just CHECKED !!! What ??? It would have taken me 5 min !!!

I visit many different Gamestops, yet I’ve yet to enjoy the experience more than I did here. No, I didn’t get a free game, but I spoke with a very kind employee (an asian dude) that held up a great conversation about JRPGs. We shared our complaints about NIS American and their lame imports. Above all, though, he didn’t hesitate to inform me about all the games I was curious about– particularly through personal experience– and still managed to emanate with humility. A bit odd, but comfortable. Considering not many people play JRPGs, (let alone talk about them due to an unfortunate social stigma that may or may not be entirely accurate) it was pretty refreshing. He even gave me a preorder copy of a new game I was gonna buy off the wall since some were still left. I’m pretty sure it was Tales of Xillia– good game, by the way. Go play it.
A mere personal experience doesn’t warrant five stars, though. The Gamestop might be a little small, but the selection’s decent. It’s clean. The service is good… and it’s next to a bunch of food places. And an ice cream place. Come here when you’re hungry…

SECOND WORST GAMESTOP SERVICE EVER!!!
THEY NEVER PICK UP THE DAMN PHONE! I decided to take a drive and go over there since they always seem to NEVER PICK UP A DAMN PHONE OR OPEN AT REASONABLE TIMES!!!
I went over there, and that was no better. No service, no greeting, just two morons gobbing to some other guy! No greeting no «can i help you, welcome to gamestop» just talk yak yak yadda yadda.
As im there. I decided to see if they would pick up their phone. YES I CALLED THEM FROM MY PHONE AS IM AT GAMESTOP SECRETIVLEY CALLING THEM AS I AM THERE! I COULD HERE THE PHONE RING AND RING AND RING.
Low and behold, THEY IGNORED THE PHONE!!! BUSTED!

Employees are always super helpful

It’s the Taito Corporation’s fault, not mine…
If not for them, I would not have known «Space Invaders.» If not for «Space Invaders,» I would not have known the Atari 2600. If not for the Atari 2600 (and a 10– to15-​year gap), I would not have known the Sony Playstation, but it’s still not my fault.
If not for Sony’s successor, I would not have purchased an X-​Box, nor the 360. But then it becomes Capcom’s fault at that point, so stop staring at me. They are the ones who designed and marketed «Resident Evil.» They did it. I didn’t.
And then Epic comes along, boasting it’s «Gears of War» franchise, and I’m the one who goes down? I can’t be blamed, can I? It’s supposed to be «my» fault that the yard hasn’t been mowed or the trash taken out? Just because the dishes aren’t done, nor dinner made, it’s all me? They threw me under the bus, beat me when I was down with their GoW2 and 3. What was I supposed to do?
And now…“GoW: Judgement” comes out:

Well, if it wasn’t for all that, I wouldn’t be reviewing this particular Gamestop. But here’s where I take full credit. =] I like this store, and I like the staff. You know, there are many places to choose from when it comes to gaming, so it really comes down to customer appreciation and service. And that’s why I come here. This staff treats its customers right: they’re personable, accomodating, welcoming. I mean, games and consoles cost what they cost, so I generally don’t seek out the best deals or special offers. I stop here: Gamestop, Fullerton. It’s their fault that they get the high score!

Cool staff, great selection of used games. I used to trade in games here, but now that Target takes trade ins on Video Games, Cell Phones, Ipods, DS Systems and Ipads I sometimes trade my games in there and get the same or more amount of credit.
