Terrible service. I’d been in the store for 15 minutes before anyone even acknowledged me, and I was trying on shoes right next to the cashier. I asked 2 people for help looking for items. In both cases, I felt like I was putting them out. 3 employees. But only one on register. Terrible service

I had always wanted to go in this place and I finally had the opportunity to go. I was going in looking for a dress and as I walked in, I was not even acknowledged. There were a couple of staff people putting clothes on racks and they saw me come in. I walked around the whole store without being asked if I needed help. The clothes were okay, not much of a variety of dresses. Needless to say I walked out very dissatisfied and disappointed.

Their return policy sucks even with a receipt I bought some tight so they were too small I wanted to exchange them they didn’t have the size and you would think in their budget that they would still be able to return them but she said no once you open them and try them on they can’t return them I just bought them a week ago…

I came in here to find these cute shoes I saw online. this store had the only pair in my size left. Lily was the one who helped me over the phone and was super awesome and helpful when I went into the actual store. Shoes were originally $ 54 and I got them for $ 15. and another cute wedge sandal. SCORE! I was so happy I went to the Avenue but was mad at myself for making this the last store on my trek to find the perfect pair of shoes! I also found a few great tops that were on sale. LOVEIT! I went to DressBarn before the Avenue because they also had some cute shoes on their site and when I called the FV store, they said they had shoes in my size and the color I was looking for. drove there and when I went inside. they had a small rack with wide shoes on it. and only HALF the rack was wide and none in my size or specific color. WTF? Wasted my damn gas! Grr! Thankfully the Avenue checked for and had my shoes and other cute stuff. I will DEFINITELY be going back there!

So my shopping experience was not at all like the previous post, but perhaps there have been some– shall we say– changes made here??? I came here to get a gift for my mother-in-law & i heard that this was her favourite store to shop at. Upon walking in I was greeted by a very chipper employee who notified me about the current promotion. Buy one get on half off… Yes please! I looked around & eventually asked the sales girls their opinions & questions about the sizing. They were super helpful the whole way through and together we all decided on some cute tops. I did get asked about wanting to sign up for a credit card but the girl was not nearly as rude and pushy as the previous post mentioned &I wasn’t put off by it at all. All in all, I think this is a cute place with a helpful and friendly staff. I am definiety coming back seeing as how my mother-in-law loved both her tops &I liked the vibe of the store.

Clothes-wise, the styles at Avenue stores tend to be a bit too«matronly» for the twenty-something crowd. Occasionally I’ll luck out with one or two cute tops, and I’ve also had decent success with their bras, particularly when they have a buy-one-get-one-half-off sale. Having said this, I rarely go to Avenue, but when I do, I hit up the Brea location… and now I remember why. The customer service at this particular location is horrid, wretched, and altogether GODAWFUL. A one-star rating is entirely too generous. After trying on a few things, I finally settled on a plain, striped v-neck t-shirt for $ 19.99 and a pair of earrings. As soon as I placed my items on the counter, the saleswoman immediately asked me, «Do you have your Avenue card with you today?» I wasn’t sure if I had ever signed up for one, but thinking that it was simply a rewards card, I said no. «No problem! We can get you signed up again real quick!» She thrust an application in my face and continued ringing up my merchandise. Luckily, I had only filled out my name on the form when I looked at the top and saw(in conspicuously small font, mind you) «CREDITCARDAPPLICATION». I stopped filling it out and said, «Oh, I’m sorry… I don’t want to sign up for a credit card. I thought this was for a rewards card.» Her reply was, «Oh, it is! You get a bunch of great rewards with this card!» I told her that the form clearly stated that it was an application for a credit card, and that I was not interested. Now, I am not even exaggerating when I say that this pushy broad asked me TENTOFIFTEENMORETIMES if I was«sure» that I didn’t want to sign up. At one point I said, «I’m good.» Her response to that was, «I don’t understand people who say „they’re good.“ I mean, obviously you’re good. You’re wonderful!» I don’t know if she was trying to be funny or what, but it sure as hell wasn’t a friendly comment, judging by the sarcastic undertone in her voice. She continued harassing me about the card, pressuring me into telling her exactly why I was refusing to sign up. I told her the truth: «I’m sorry, I don’t shop here often enough for this card to benefit me in any way.» This, of course, prompted her to grill me on exactly WHY I don’t shop at their store. At one point she even said, «Oh, so someone else does your clothes shopping for you?» Oh. My. GAWD! Eventually, as she finished ringing up the sale, I opened my wallet to pull out my card and she saw a printed piece of paper that I had stuffed in there, which just happened to be an Avenue coupon I had found online. She quickly jumped on the chance to ask, «Is that a COUPON in your wallet?» «Yes, but it’s for $ 10 off $ 50, and I’m fine with the $ 28 that you just rung up… thanks.» When I handed her my card, she looked at it, noticed the Mastercard logo, and turned it around to face me, «Well, THIS is a card. You’re PAYING with a card.» As if that was reason enough for me to relent and sign up for the Avenue card. I shot her an icy glare and said simply, «It’s a debit card, not a credit card.» After this, she tried one or two more times to sign me up for the credit card, and finally ran my bank card through the register. I hastily signed my receipt, turned my back on her, and was halfway out the door before she could even say, «Thank you, have a nice day.» This was one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. A transaction that should have been completed in under a minute involved over 5 minutes of high-pressure tactics and invasive questioning about my personal spending habits, preference in clothes, etc. The smugness of this Avenue employee is truly unrivaled in all my years of shopping. I’ve dealt with pushy salespeople before, and certainly I recognize it’s their job to try to convince customers to sign up for in-store credit. However, how many times does a customer have to say no before they lay off? And is it acceptable for a salesperson to make the customer feel like an idiot? Most definitely not. In fact, I think it warrants a complaint to the corporate office, which I will be writing promptly after I finish this review(I mean, duh… Unilocal comes first, obviously!) If you’re DEAD-SET on shopping at Avenue, do yourself a favor and go to the one in Brea on Birch Street. The employees are 110% friendlier, and do not conduct themselves like car salesmen trying to dupe unsuspecting customers into signing up for some gimmick.
