One of my new fav breakfast spots. Traditional breakfast items with a creative spin… there’s something for everyone. Great food, great menu, and good size portions for your money. My only complaints… First, the coffee is just so-so. Second, there’s a separate room that I’m guessing can be reserved or accommodate large groups, but they open it up on weekends because it gets really crowded… well, this room is 10 degrees colder than the rest of the restaurant so we were freezing the whole time; and it gets really loud in there because it’s enclosed. I recommend waiting for another table.

I ventured out to the western part of Fort Worth to find a hole in the wall breakfast joint. A Unilocal search turned up this place. You just have to go to a place with a name like this. It was not a hole in the wall, but a nicely decorated trendy little spot in an outdoor mall. Good ambiance. A great place for a date with either mom, or sweetie pie. My complaint is the food. Among the abundance of choices on the menu, my mouth watered at the corned-beef hash and eggs. Big mistake! I was brought a flattened patty of dried hash with my eggs thrown on top. It was very rudimentary, completely lacking any artwork, garnish, or flair. And did I say dry? The dish came with hollandaise sauce on the side(and an English muffin), but one hollandaise was not enough. I needed a second as a lubricant for the dry food. The service was pretty good. Everyone seemed to have their chipper going on, even near the end of their shift. I’m going to reluctantly give this place a 4-star review. Consider it credit. I’m sure they can cook better than they did today. I’m willing to try again some other time.

Loved, loved, loved the food but the service was the worst. Came to have a late breakfast here with my family(party of 3). The hostess was nice and restaurant was clean but there was no sense of urgency between the wait staff. We sat down, the server greeted us and not until about 10 minuets later came to drop of our drinks. She then later came took our order and that’s the last we saw of her. She not once gave us a refill, or checked on us. We had to ask the hostess for a Togo box and the check. Other than that the food was amazing. We had French toast and the waffles both dishes were great!

Really loved this little café. They have a wide variety of breakfast goodies in a relaxed atmosphere. Our waitress Edie was a joy. They do have limited seating so during high volume times when it isn’t nice enough to enjoy their patio, you will probably have a bit of a wait.

Great place for breakfast. The wait staff is great. Love it! However, they do not have enough staff to provide excellent customer service. They have the wait staff bussing the tables. I see no manager on the floor. I don’t think the owner anticipated how popular this place would be. They need a larger wait area.

My girlfriend and I wanted to try something new for breakfast and we stumbled upon this place! I am very glad we did, the service was amazing. From the manager opening the door for us as we walked in to our waitress who asked all the right questions and was overall the best waitress I’ve ever had. Not to forget her trainee who was sweet as can be and was obviously being trained amazing! Definitely will be back soon!!!

Im assuming the host/cashier is new, she seemed rather overwhelmed and confused with what she was doing at times. She informed me that they dont carry oatmeal when infact they do. I pointed it out to her on the menu and she was very apologetic. She’s new, so it’s understandable. The only issue I had was the fact that the staff here doesn’t have a sense of urgency. Heck, it took the host/cashier at least 2 minutes to find someone to take my to-go order. I ordered oatmeal thinking it wouldn’t take long and thats my fault for assuming it was already prepared.. They informed me it would take 10 minutes. I waited for about 7 or 8 but was late for work(literally next door) and said I would be back. 2 hours later I come back to pick my oatmeal up(since i’ve already paid for it) and it still wasn’t ready. I guess they had to toast the bread that comes with it. That’s fine and very thoughtful but I just didn’t care at that point. I waited another 6 minutes or so and just went back to work. Came back at 2pm and the manager refunded my money without me having to ask.(Very thoughtful) I accepted the refund and left the oatmeal(which was finally ready) on the counter. While I understand that this is a sit down restaurant and people come in to eat and relax. This restaurant is located in a part of town with lots of businesses surrounding it. If someone is ordering To-go, the entire order needs to be taken care of with a sense of urgency. How do they get the guest on their lunch break out and back to work on time? I have worked in the service industry for 8 years and I am very understanding. I helped open the Campisi’s down the street and right now I’m helping with the opening of a new restaurant next door to McAllisters. I can say with confidence that what the staff lacks is a sense of urgency for the guest.

This is a good and consistent breakfast spot. I went in a group and everyone enjoyed their food… I’ve been on a Vegan trek for a couple of months… I got the oatmeal with double fruit and had the English Muffin with peanut butter(instead of butter), and a kale drink(delicious). Decent meal… and great place to meet friends…

My boyfriend and I love this place and have made it our regular weekend breakfast spot. The boyfriend has had the Cambridge skillet, the Parisian Benedict, the Colorado Jack Scramble, and the Denver omelette. He has loved every dish but says he will only get the Parisian Benedict when he is not super hungry. I’m a fan of the oatmeal, ranch potatoes, and biscuits and gravy. I’m not a fan of eggs(or meat) but I still always can find something to order. We have always been greeted with smiles and the service has been great.

Great place. Was created right when we walked in the door. Served was excellence and food was great. Had the Mexican omelette with green chili sauce and destroyed it. Great place to eat your morning chow.

My husband and I wanted to try this restaurant since they opened one in Fort Worth. The food is absolutely amazing. We are definitely coming back to enjoy the coffee and food. I ordered the Parisian Benedict. I will definitely order it again. The Egg was perfectly poached and all of the ingredients were prepared well. My husband enjoyed the Denver Omelet. We both loved the potatoes that came with our meal. The staff is friendly and I was given a secret coupon to be opened at our next visit. If you are in the area and haven’t tried the Egg and I, you are missing out.

We are avid breakfast eaters, and I must say that The Egg & I is going to be a favorite for a while. To confess, I usually go to IHOP and Cracker Barrel for breakfast, but sometimes you just want to try something new. Their menu has a lot of interesting choices, and the prices seem reasonable compared to the others. I like variety and don’t mind paying a little extra for the«twist or pride» that The Egg & I offers to it’s customers. And, it is true about the waiting time. Be prepared to wait a little awhile to be seated or at least on a Sunday morning. However, there is free hot coffee offered for waiting, so this is a plus.

The Egg and I is located off of Camp Bowie in the same strip of businesses as the Lunch Box. They are only open for breakfast, brunch, and lunch. I got the build your own omelet. Chicken, mushrooms, onions, peppers, swiss cheese, and avocado. The omelet was decent. The husband got the french toast and he enjoyed it. I took a bite and it was pretty good. People complain of the price. I didn’t think it was all that pricey. It’s better than Denny’s or Ihop that’s for sure. I wouldn’t mind coming back if I was in the area.

The atmosphere was very good. The servers were very helpful as well; however, the server was unable to explain items on the menu. Knowing the menu is very key to people who are visiting the restaurant for the first time. The food was pretty good, there were no complaints from me. I would definitely give this restaurant another visit.

Decent food, but not worth the price I paid for it. Also, the hosting staff does not know how to seat people. If you have a party of four, and an open table that seats four, why sit one lone guy there and make the party of four wait ten more minutes. That’s stupid. $ 26 for an omelette and crumpets and eggs, bacon and a pancake? No thanks, won’t get my money again.

Meh… Food is ok, but when I got the bill, I thought they should have renamed the place, «The I just got jacked for the amount of money I paid vs the food I got & I». Geez man… we get it, food is fresh, but that bill was hefty… My wife liked her dish, I really wasn’t sure what half of the stuff on the menu was, so I ate a fruit cup. Like La Madeline, it has it’s lil cult o’ followers, but for this blue collar guy, it just wasn’t my place. Nothing wrong with the food, just not for me.

I have been here several times and haven’t been disappointed yet. The food is always delicious and the prices are fair. I’ve tried various flavored pancakes, omelettes, and the biscuits and gravy and enjoyed everything. The ranch potato’s as a side are delicious. I would recommend coming earlier in the morning, if you can, to avoid a wait.

This was my first time to dine at «The Egg and I» and I was very pleased with the food, the service and the whole experience. I can’t wait to come back and try some of the really exciting menu options. i met a friend for lunch. The whole menu is served through lunch. My friend ordered a bowl of the soup of the day and I ordered the lunch combo. It included a ½ Reuben sandwich and a smaller sized Cobb salad. Yummy. it was the perfect size for lunch. The lettuce was crisp and the Reuben wasn’t too packed with meat. My entrée was very enjoyable. Our server took excellent care of us while we were there. I can’t wait to bring my wife to «The Egg and I» for breakfast or brunch one weekend.

Good food. Reasonable prices. I realize this is a new location and there’s a learning curve. With that being said my husband and I went in on 4th of July morning. There was a full staff and the restaurant was half empty. The service was terrible. It took 15 minutes from the time we were seated to get coffee and juice and another 10 for the waitress to come back and take our order. The manager just stared around and made no attempt to apologize or help the wait staff in any way. Once this obstacle was overcome the kitchen seemed to have it together. The food came out fast and was delicious. Hopefully the front of the house will pull it together soon. I like The Egg and I and was excited to have one open in my neighborhood.
