Sun Rice Chinese Restaurant

I usually just order a small shrimp fried rice (as the large does not bring anymore shrimp than the small). & it’ll hit the spot but Today I thought I’d try something new which I should have known better because anytime I have ventured beyond the rice I have been extremely disappointed & today was no different. So I pay about $ 9 for «Sweet & Sour Shrimp» but to my disgust what was inside was anything But! The gentleman who so kindly took my order made it a point to tell me that it’s «Breaded» like I had no idea what sweet & sour shrimp Should be yet failed to mention the Shrimp is Not Really Shrimp! Usually I’ll just let it go & never order again but I decided to call them to give them an opportunity to rectify the situation. The man who answers immediately asks me how many pieces of «shrimp» was left & I told him 4 in tact because it took me opening a second one to realize I am not crazy & know what shrimp looks like, tastes like and feels like in your mouth! Instead I was basically told by an old lady who I guess runs the joint that it is real shrimp just very Breaded! I told them I don’t appreciated doing business with dishonest establishments (Thieves) & will not be ordering in the future! If a Restaurant, Chinese at that, Blatantly Lies to you about something so Obvious it should really be Concerning what they Don’t Tell You!

We’ve ordered delivery twice from here and both times it was awesome! I really like the chicken rice/​noodle and hot and sour soups. The pan friend noodle — house special was great, except for the noodles them selves. As of now thats the only thing I havent liked. The spring rolls are probably some of the best I’ve ever had. The honey garlic chicken had great flavor, the breaded fried chicken was crispy but soft and moist. and Delivery is less than 30 minutes. One of my favorite things… they have an English speaking person who answers the phone so ordering is easy and everyone understands eachother. They are always knowledgeable about the menu when I ask questions and modify anything I’ve asked them too. Its been a long time since I’ve had good chinese food and as of now this will continue to be my #1 choice when I eat chinese. Over all I am very happy all around! Great food, great value, great service!

While staying at a nearby hotel and in a situation where we needed food delivered to us the front desk suggested this restaurant.
The ordering process was smooth, the delivery reasonably fast, and the food had great flavor. It was very inexpensive compared to the Chinese delivery restaurants I am used to.
The Mongolian beef was excellent, as were the crab puffs and sweet and sour pork. The pork comes with bread and butter pickle slices instead of the usual green bell pepper, I thought that was a great and unexpected twist. They go great together believe it or not!
Everyone in the party enjoyed the food.
The reason I gave a two rating is because of something I am very critical of. My Chow Mein was ordered with pan fried noodles, not the default crispy noodles. This was made extremely clear, most likely to a fault. It was confirmed, then questioned, then reconfirmed all in a very polite way. It arrived crispy. This enrages me. I have never seen someone actually eat the crispy noodles nor admit to enjoying them. I have no earthly understanding of why all across America the crispy noodles are the default but it is what it is. I want nothing to do with them and feel totally shorted when this aspect of my order is wrong, especially by delivery and definitely when I am charged extra for them as most places do.
So there you have it. I recommend this place for delivery but beware the crispy noodles if that is not your thing!

I love the food from this restaurant. Great food and great customer service. My fave is the curry chicken or the beef lo mein.

It’s my family’s go to Chinese takeout place. The food is always good and the delivery service is very fast. I usually like to change it up to try different things but my husband always gets the same thing. Beef lo-​mein no veggies and mixed soup. Which he says is the best Chinese place around here.

You know that Chinese food place at most malls? They’re all named the same and the menu is as predictable as a calendar…
Sun Rice is a pretty busy delivery and eat-​in joint located on Powerline Road, just north of West Cypress Creek (behind the Chili’s). It is a bargain if you’re looking for something that’s no frills, quick, and easy. You can order a-​la-​carte or get their lunch specials (eat in or take-​out) from the chaffing line. The price is reasonable and the portions match. Their daily «Express Lunch» includes two entrees and three sides for seven dollars. (Drink is extra!)
If you’re in a pinch, Sun Rice is reliable and wallet friendly. As for the quality of the food, I’m not saying it wasn’t good, but it wasn’t the greatest Chinese food I’ve ever had. I’m giving them two stars because of the «Meh» factor. The best part of my meal today was the fortune cookie. Apparently, I’ve got something big coming!

For the last 7 years I’ve watching coworkers order food from Sun Rice. Mostly delivery, but some will drive and pick their food up, which is what I opted to do.
No need to order in advance as the interior is set up like a food-​court Chinese place and you order based on what’s in the display area that day.
I came today particularly hoping for bok choy. No bok choy today, so note that things must change day to day. The other thing to note is the line! At 11:45am the line was almost out the door, it moved quickly but clearly this place sees quite a lot of business.
Pricing is the standard food court style — 2 meats, 1 rice/​noodles and 1 side for ~$ 7. I decided to be «skinny» and skip the carbs which got me many stares as if I had committed a sin lol. I finally convinced them to give me Mongolian beef, chicken with brocolli, 2 portions of green beans and a spring roll (it was obvious they wouldn’t let me leave without some carbs) to still satisfy their combo/​pricing situation.
The food was tasty, nothing special, and really without the carbs loading up the to-​go container it was slightly empty.
