I also wish I had Unilocaled this place before using. My distant uncle died and my mother was informed she was liable to take care of his remains. I sent paperwork over and kept waiting and checking with them to see if everything was on track. After waiting 3 days and being assured things were progressing as usual during that time, I was told they couldn’t find my paperwork. Then they wouldn’t take my power of attorney for my 93-​year old mother and wanted a doctor’s note to say she was too feeble to sign anything. Why would I have her power of attorney if she was able to handle her affairs!!! Gads, it was like taking to a child! Needless to say, I took my business elsewhere.

Don’t use these people, my Father passed away and I was the one who had to get the coroner, crematorium, and doctor going on all the paperwork that needed to be done. When I complained about why it had taken over 2 weeks to get the cremation done, when they had told me 4 to 5 business days, they blamed it on the doctor. I felt like they just did not care at all. They are a third party broker type place, your better off going to your local crematorium to make arrangements for your loved one, these guys are basically the middle man. I would not recommend them to anyone.

Was told my son’s cremation would be $ 1150 after he died in a car accident. I paid $ 350 right away then after cheering help from friends and my church, we raised another $ 800. When I sent them the money the still refuses to send my son’s ashes, telling me that the price went up and I still owed them another $ 145 for some reason. Now they say they’ve shipped his ashes to Florida and they are holding them ransom. After all I’ve been through losing my son, I have to go through this indignity. Awful company. Please avoid if possible.

I wish that I had thought to Unilocal a cremation. It never occurred to me and now, a week later, we are still waiting for cremation. I have sent papers over, no response for many days, repeated phone calls, rude operators, etc. Now, after sending over the third set of documents today, notarized, etc. we are told that they need additional papers. This is after keeping our family member over the weekend since last Tuesday with no word. It is unbelievable and they should not be in business.

Seriously… the reviews on the Heritage website must be prefab… and we are a family of gullible suckers who fell for it.
We are a simple family with a simple father who passed very, very quickly.
We wanted to uphold his wishes of a simple crematorium; cremate and return his remains to us, no service, so in true family tradition we could have our own backyard celebration so to speak to celebrate his life per his wishes.
In addition, we are of simple means, and have little in the way of resources and were assured that Heritage was the way to go given our limited resources, and specific desires. So we set out contacting Heritage after his sudden passing to being the arrangements.
My father passed on Monday, ¹⁰⁄₁₉. Tuesday, ¹⁰⁄₂₀ we were able to get all the paperwork competed in accordance with their guidelines and submitted to them via fax. Tuesday night we received a call from Heritage that everything had been taken care of and that my father’s body was going to be picked up at the hospital today, taken care of, and on his way back to us as soon as possible. Everything was about to be over and he would be back with us soon and we would have some sort of closure.
So here were sit WEDNESDAY night planning details for his celebration of life and we get a call from Heritage advising us that they ‘regret to inform us that they have found themselves in an overbooked situation and are now unable to pick up our father’ leaving us high and dry with no freakin’ clue as to what to do. The woman didn’t even offer any alternatives, or where to go or what to do, just hey, we’re booked, we can’t get him, and that he’s still at the hospital: we, are back at square one.
ARE YOU FREAKIN KIDDING ME ??? I understand that the choice to go with Heritage is an economical one that those with not many means resort to, but, that doesn’t mean that their feelings, concerns, and should be dumped on and their respect shat on with no consideration for the raw feelings of those who have just lost a loved one. The way this was handled was absolutely inexcusable and so disgusting I almost threw up in my mouth. My mother is crushed, as is my family. Knowing that he was almost home to but now that he is still sitting in the morgue in the hospital like some unclaimed, unidentified body…
The level of unprofessionalism and disrespect exhibited by Heritage during a time such as this is a level that I cannot even begin to comprehend.
As an additional word of caution, while frantically calling around, we found one company, whose representative after we told them we were and that we had been dealing with Heritage was like, «Oh, yea, you don’t want to do that…»
This Unilocaler, disgusted beyond.
Trust me, of all people, I understand when in a situation where you need to count pennies, but, this shit just ain’t worth it. Please save yourself the heartache, and protect your dignity… spend a couple extra hundred to do it right and with people who really do care.

This place broke my heart, My loved one died unexpectedly on a weekend. His next of kin are 2 children. I called, explained the situation and got a quote. Then I called 4 times a day until they emailed me the contract. It was 400 dollars plus more than the first quote. When I expressed outrage, they said, basically too bad. I felt I couldn’t go elsewhere because they had his body. When I called to make a payment on Thursday night, they said they would not take several payments, (which they had agreed to all along, saying as long as we paid in full before the body was returned) because I said I would file a complaint. Then, they said, (accidentally, I think) that THEY DID NOT HAVE HIS BODY. I immediately called the morgue, cancelled their right to pick him up, and called a local facility. Their price was $ 700.00 less, they gave me a contract and took my first payment in one call. I just cant describe how much worse this week has been because of this horrible company. They are crooks, in my opinion. They feed on your grief. This is my first review, it wont be my last. I ordered the form to file a complaint with the proper authorities too. I hope you use my heartbreaking example, and use someone, anyone, else.

Simply this and no more — Don’t do it! Highly incompetent, unprepared while acting exclusively as a third party capturing customers and getting paid for providing leads to local morticians. Do yourself a favor during this exceedingly difficult time; approach and contract with a local director.

Absolutely the worst place to go during one of the most difficult times in life. The owner, AJ, is immoral, unethical, rude and has bad business manners. On February 9, 2015 I phoned to discuss arrangements for my step-​dad who was in his final days after battling cancer. I informed AJ where my step — dad was and he said he knew exactly where that was and quoted me a price. When the day finally came that we needed his service, I called and spoke to Samantha, who quoted me a much higher price. I informed her that AJ had quoted a lower price, so she said she would check with him and get back to me. When she called me back she said the higher price was because AJ had thought it was in another state. Long story short, they would not pick up my step-​dad until I agreed to the price so i asked for AJ top call me. When I spoke to him he would not budge from the higher price, so I told him I agreed but would be writing a negative review, at which time he told me he would not help us and to find somebody else so I hung up. He called back a few minutes later to apologize for the way the call had ended and I asked him if they could just pick up my step-​dad and I would not write a bad review. He stated he would only agree to that if he got something in writing saying I would not write a bad review at which point I told him to forget it. This man tried to take advantage of our family during this difficult time and would not honor the price he had quoted me based on his mistake. As a smsll business owner mself, if I misquote a price I honor the lower price which keeps people happy and they recommend me to friends. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, THERE IS A REASON THEY ARE SO CHEAP! !
