I’d give 5 stars if the service was better. I’ve been twice and both times we get a table and wait and wait and wait. We finally get our beer and nachos and are very happy but so frustrating!

Steak tips were fantastic. My wife had the Ruben and loved it. Berry pie was warm and tasty. Bloody Maries were great. Apparently most of the patrons thought so too, as the bar keep was continually mixing and serving them.

I love this place! I’ve never had a bad meal and the staff is great! Our waitress, Terry, was a lot of fun. We eat there whenever we’re in Fryburg.

Fantastic burger, great fish and chips and decent beer selection. The service here however, is over the top excellent. Only go here once a year or so, but have generally left 302 full and happy. Definitely recommend (Try the house made bbq sauce, unreal)

Heartily enjoyed my meal of the Bone In Combo(half of a smoked chicken and a half rack of ribs). Awesome smoky flavor and the in house BBQ sauce was extremely flavorful. Neat place serviced by nice people offering something very unique in the Fryeburg/Conway area.

If your looking for fine dining… go next door to the Oxford house. If you looking to relax, and listen to music while eating BBQ… this is the right place. Food is excellent, and the price is right. Relax… your in vacation land

Worth the ride from Conway! Arrived with 8 ravenous guests and left with full bellies and smiles on our faces. The«Frye» burger was enormous and to die for. Pulled pork and corn bread were delicious. Fried clams delectable. You must come ready to eat because the portion sizes are out of control. Prices were fantastic! Definitely returning soon!

My second review. Went for dinner tonight. Sat on the fly infested deck. Server was new did not know the menus. Very disappointed still sitting waiting on my app. I have been here alot and this is a huge dissapointment. I will come back I will chalk it up to a badly trained server that was getting no help.

Food was delicious! Probably the best brisket I’ve had! Waitress thought we were camp counsellors and was pretty gruff at first, but she lightened up once she realized we weren’t. The atmosphere is great and food came out quickly!

I’d give this place ½ a star if I could. We arrived at noon. It is 1:46 and we just got in the car to leave and we never even got to eat our lunches… need I say more!?? We ate here on vacation last year and the food was great along with exemplary service. We figured we would try it again — wow, what a difference one year makes! This time, we have no idea what the food is like. We shared two appetizers(wings and potato skins) which took 45 minutes to arrive — they were fair. When I inquired about our entrees as the appetizers were being served, I was told«there is only 1 person working in the kitchen.» Ummm ok?! Why is this my problem? I waited the 45 minutes for a glass of wine, too. The linecook doesn’t prepare the drinks — that is the server’s responsibility Others around us were complaining, too — and people around us who arrived after we did were being served entrees. Eventually, we just asked for our check(we were repeatedly assured our food was«coming out! right now!»). As the check was being delivered, the food arrived. We refused the food. At this point, the bartender became beligerant and said loudly for the entire establishment to hear«SHE says SHE waited too long and doesn’t want the food now.» The server asked«should I pack it up to go?» The bartender replied, «Nope! SHE doesn’t want it.» First of all, SHE was sitting right there. SHE waited over an hour for lunch with two 12 year olds and a 22 month old. And, the restaurant doesn’t have a diaper changing area in the bathroom, either There was truly no need for the bartender’s ‘snarkasm,’ which was an obvious attempt to embarrass me and my family in front of the other patrons. I continued to smile. I was polite. I never once was rude to the staff — I even assured the server it wasn’t her fault. But, we waited over an hour and ten minutes for lunch. Sorry if our lunch orders were too complex to handle(nothing substituted, nothing out of the ordinary) with only 5 tables full in the entire restaurant. Sadly, this was our last visit to 302. I am still reeling over the fact that we just paid $ 40 for 2 appetizers that took forever to arrive, 3 sodas that only got refilled once, and a glass of wine that took 40+ minutes to receive. If the staff had any class, they would’ve sent us on our way with a certificate to return in the future to allow them the opportunity to redeem themselves. Too many other dining options in Maine/NH. Thank you, 302 Smokehouse, for helping us narrow down our choices.

I went here while on vacation. We went bowling down the road and wanted to grab lunch before we went home. I used to waitress at a BBQ joint in Tampa, so I was super excited. I think it has the potential to be something really good. The waitresses have no sense of cleanliness, which is why I immediately knocked them down stars. When I asked for a box, she took my plate along with the dirty dishes and stacked it on top of my food. The place was overall dark and dusty. I’m sure if we turned the lighting up, everyone would be grossed out. The food was just okay. I shared a cup of clam chowder and the bone-in combo with my boyfriend. The soup was luke warm if that. The ribs were pretty tough and had way too much smokey flavor. The sauce on top was the best part. The chicken was done really well. Coleslaw was very strongly tasting of mayonnaise. I liked it, my boyfriend hated it. The fries were soggy. My favorite part though was the cornbread, it was really soft and moist. To sum it all up, I would say stay away. I would have been happier eating a protein bar or a slice of bread. The meal was way over priced for how it tasted. I don’t think I would ever suggest going there, especially if you’re a germaphobe. Save yourself the time and money. It is not real BBQ.

Excellent food and service, knocked our socks off great! They have one of the best Reuben’s I’ve ever had, fish sandwiches were fresh, huge, & tasty; onion rings are hand made there and are not to be missed. We can’t wait to go back and try something else delectable.

My review from before stands up to repeated visit. The food is still awesome, reasonably priced and amply portioned! This time I took my wife and dog. Well behaved dogs are allowed to sit on their outdoor patio, where the staff provided us ample water for the dog. Food was delivered fast and the staff did a wonderful job of taking care of us. We went at 2:45 on a Monday and the place was packed. I’m not sure what the wait must be like if you go during a peak time, but at a non-peak time every table on the inside was taken. This was O.K. for us because we wanted to sit outside and watch our dog. We left our dog in the car with the air conditioning on and the windows cracked for less than 5 minutes, while we went inside to get our table on the patio. In the time it took for us to be ushered to our table and retrieve our dog from the car… no time at all, someone complained about our dog being in the car. The staff responded to this complaint in the way that I would expect. They sought out the owner of the dog, which was us. I’m glad that they did the right thing, even though he was only out there for a very, very short time.

DONOTSKIPTHISPLACE!!! Absolutely the best BBQ I’ve had in years. Meaty ribs; a ½ slab was plenty and I’m a big eater. Ironically, the star was the house-made slaw — it was remarkable. Tangy & creamy. The house-made sauces were very good, but unnecessary, as the meat was perfect on its own. Roadhouse-type atmosphere with warm & attentive servers. Cold beers in mason jars. We’ll be back.

We meandered into town after a long drive from Burlington, VT, ravenous after a long day on the road. Ribs and whatnot sounded rather delish, so we stopped by. We walked in and were a bit bit confused as to where we should go… once the waitress stopped chatting with her cohorts, we were seated quickly. Food was pretty good… we ordered the ½ rack ribs and double lobster rolls to split. I have made better lobster rolls myself… there was a lot of lobster, but a lobster roil needs more pizazz than just a lobster and a roll. Ribs were kinda fall off the bone melt in your mouth fantastic. Seriously yum. The sides were hit and miss: Potato salad: win, baked beans: meh, coleslaw: meh, fries: they’re fries. Ok, so now we’re all full and sassy from our meal, and we want the check. So of course the waitress decides that now is the time for a cigarette break. 15 minutes later we are still sitting there, wishing we were on the road(2 hours left to drive still). Finally the check, and on our way. If we were locals, sure we’d hang around, seems our kinda place. But as drifters for the moment, just gotta say meh.

Overall, this is a great restaurant alternative to those found in nearby North Conway. Burger was very good, as was the«Bob’s Bitchin’ Q» sandwich. Ceasar salad also above average, and the«207 fries» were certainly noteworthy as well. This place is VERY small, so it could potentially get crowded. But then again, it’s in Fryeburg and there isn’t a whole lot going on in and around that town. Good place to watch a game because they have one massive TV and several other TV’s at the bar. We’ll be back.
