My boyfriend and I went here for a date last Saturday night. We both hadn’t been there for a few months and we both tried something new. He had the pulled pork wrap and I had the chicken quesadilla. Both were amazing and so flavorful. Prices are very reasonable and our server was wonderful. Wish I knew her name!

V Let me start off by saying i am not repulsive looking, have BO or wear filthy clothing. After i decided what to order, i closed the menu and observed 4 different waitpersons walk by my table. One had served the table next to me and later came back to the table and ask how things were and then partially bussed the other table next to me. After waiting almost 15 minutes for a waitperson to acknowledge i was present and to take my order, i gathered my belongings and left the restaurant. Based on my experience, if you go to sand spring saloon and restaurant take a hearty snack because the wait just to place your order will be a long, long time.

Very popular restaurant. Salmon good. Steak overlooked and over seasoned better stick to burgers and simpler fair drinks priced fairly. Service friendly and local

Try the sweet potato fries! Oh my! They are sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar. Yum! I really like their chicken cowboy sandwich & tuna steak salad. Service is sometimes slow & the parking is limited, but it’s worth the wait & the walk, the food is really good.

Sandsprings has been a local favorite since I can remember. It’s always offered good food, friendly service, and reasonable prices. Since I moved away, I haven’t frequented Sandsprings as often as I used to, but the last few times I have, my experience has just been OK. The food is still good and the prices are still reasonable, so no complaint there. But the service, while friendly, is awful. You will wait and wait for EVERYTHING, from the moment you walk through the door. It’s a tough situation because it has really been such a great place, and the people really are very nice. but sometimes that’s just not enough. The service is so slow and so poor, that it almost makes it not worth going. So just be aware, you’ll more than likely really love your food and your drinks, but be prepared to be there for a long time. and not because you’re having such a good time that you just can’t imagine leaving… no, you’ll be there because it will take you forever to be seated, meet your server, order, eat, get refills, get your check. get comfy, cause once you get there you’ll be there for a while!

I took some business associates here and they were very accommodating. However the food wasn’t as good as I remembered it. I had the grilled tuna salad and it essentially was a head of iceberg lettuce with a few pieces of spinach added. The tuna was over cooked. The beer selections were basic industrial with a few regular crafts. Blah!

First of all there is not near enough parking so if you get frustrated by parking easily stay away. We did have to wait for 30 minutes to get a table but once seat we tried the jalapeño shoestrings which are absolutely delicious and I got the beef tips with a baked potato and it can with corn bread as well all were the best I’ve had in a while. It was cooked to perfection and I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Good food, inexpensive if you are ordering sandwiches and appetizers, soups and salads. Entrees are fairly pricey, especially with a large group. We had a group of nine and walked in mid-day and had no problem getting a table. We were upstairs. Our waitress was excellent and handled all of our needs including of the refills she took care of for our table. Excellent and quick service. I look forward to going back and trying their steaks and other specialties, but this meal was all about quick appetizers, soups and sandwiches and getting our college students fed and happy. Overall very good place and I can’t wait to try it again. Give this place a try. Its not huge, so at a prime meal time you might have to wait. Make a reservation if they take them!

The first few times my husband and I dined here the service was slow, but the food was good. This time we had great service and good food. Looking forward to my next visit here come 2016

Best Restaurant in Frostburg, hands down. Any given day of the week you can get a perfectly cooked steak, delicious salad and ice cold beer. The menu is full of a wide variety of choices and has something for everyone. The atmosphere is fun and friendly and reminds you of an old west Saloon. My favorite dish is the Flat Iron Steak Salad.

Go later on in the evening if you’re wanting food fast. Jess, the bartender is the best!

The food here is delicious! However, the service can be quite slow and some of the foods are over priced. This is a place I would save for special occasions… not an everyday thing.

Nice restaurant, that fills up quickly! We were there when the doors opened on a Sunday and the people were pouring in! The food was delicious. I had the taco salad. My only complaint is that it was served on a plate that was too small. It filled the entire plate so when you tried to «dig in» it pushed food off of the plate so you had to be careful. Our server was attentive and polite. We were very pleased with our experience here. We also got 2 coffees to go!

In Cumberland for a couple of nights and trying out different restaurants. I wish I had taken photos because 99% of it was Excellent! I called ahead to make a reservation but still stood in the teeny entry for a while.(They did offer a bar seat but nope, didn’t want it.) We split the mushroom caps with cheese and crab — Great! Keep that one! My companion had the NY Strip with a salad and mashed potatoes. Hardly heard a word during the meal and I definitely would not put anything in between his mouth and the plate. Danger! I had a cup of the crab/lobster bisque, which was a little thick, but delicious. My entrée was Prime Rib, queen cut, which was more than adequate size and delicious!!! My sides were a baked potato and fried green beans. The baked potato was fine but the fried green beans are more of an appetizer in my book. The thing was my other choice for a green vegetable were broccoli(eh) and terriyaki mixed vegetables. One more thing — Go with the Real Horseradish. I went for the horseradish sauce and I think Arby’s Horsey Sauce has more horseradish taste. I would also suggest checking the weather in winter. We looked up snow totals in Cumberland, where our hotel is, and Frostburg, where the restaurant is, and there is more than double the snow in Frostburg. It is a completely uphill journey from Cumberland. Very nicely done overall!

Great food & service We took advantage of the Saturday Prime rib special & all 3 were cooked wonderfully. Sides were good the only thing we didn’t like was the corn bread. Will be back for sure

My wife and I arrived early for dinner on July 23, 2014. We were to meet her friends and have a nice dinner before we flew back to the west coast. Since we «arrived early» our waitress copped the worst attitude ever. Sure wish I had caught her name, I would embarrass her on here, big time. Anyway, dinner was tolerable, service was sub-par. Service is glacially slow. If a manager or owner see this review look to see who was the blond female server with an attitude, last Wednesday evening. Our table of 4 was there until about 9PM.

The good: Most of the food on the menu is pretty good. Highlights are the roast beef sandwich, which is slathered in gravy and delicious, as well as anything with their crab dip on it. The crab dip is absolutely amazing! The bad: Service is glacially slow. We always make sure we have an hour and a half to devote to lunch when we come here, which is a pretty big downside for me.

worst service ever. How could you order a steak and not receive a knife. Had to ask two separate staff, due to the fact we never saw our waiter.

CUSTOMERSERVICEISROCKBOTTOM!!! Made reservations at 6pm for 6 people and arrived early. They seated us and we gave up one of the tables because it turned out to only be 4 of us. As soon as we took the last bite of food we were informed if we wanted dessert we would have to get it in a box to go because someone else had reservations. I can’t say I have ever been thrown out of a restaurant for having been a paying customer. I used to like this place and went quite often but they won’t have to worry about me spending anymore money at this local restaurant.

This is a 4-star review, but I have to admit it’s because I grade on a scale. For a decent sized metropolitan area, it would be 3 stars. For Frostburg/Cumberland MD, it’s a stand out at 4 stars. The bartender was full of sass and wasn’t off-put when I served it right back at ‘em. I left him a $ 5 tip for our 2 drinks just to make sure he knew I was just kidding. Frostburg is full of college bars, but I would not put Sand Springs in that category. It was clean and had great service. The bar had the std Bud/Coors draft selection, but also had Sam Adams Seasonal — which is NOT the standard offering for bars in the area, so kudos! My steak was cooked perfectly(Medium rare) and was topped with crabmeat. I have to admit the crab was better than the steak. Our calamari appetizer was cooked perfectly — which isn’t easy. One last note, I had a Maker’s Mark & DIet Coke — it was pretty strong. Be sure to bring a DD if you have more than 1 of these!
