A great restaurant in Front Royal food was very good and staff was very earnestly trying to provide attentive service. Definitely stop in. The menu is diverse with flavorful offerings. Prices are good and you taste the value. Layout allows a couple of seating areas from fine dining style or casual in the roomy bar. A great place for dining out and to host a party. Very tasteful fixtures and seating, everything inside is new and coordinated to provide a comfortable enjoyable dining experience. Definitely coming back the next time we are in town. Those new business jitters among the staff will iron out quickly. Be patient slit of the staff seem new. But the food and experience are entirely worth a hiccup or two.

Being from the DC area and coming out here for the wineries, finding this restaurant walking distance from our hotel was a pleasant surprise. The food was amazing, the bar area was great. And being a small family owned business was a plus… we sat at the bar which is our preference in order to interact with others while dining. Me and my hubby both had burgers which were outstanding, and the bartenders were great. If we ever return back to this area of front Royal… we will return for sure.

Service was excellent. I had the buffalo salad and quesadilla. Salad was very good. Quesadilla was also good but a little burnt on parts of the bottom. My server recommended the American honey mouse for dessert. It was very good. I will be back and highly recommend this restaurant.

I had such a delicious meal here a month ago I decided to have my family’s Birthday dinner here last Saturday evening. My brother and one sister and I share March birthdays and we were a party of 8. We all felt like it was a magical evening from excellent and friendly service, to the absolutely phenomenal meal, topped with a surprise birthday cake that was to die for! My sisters who have lived in the metro area felt the quality of the food rivaled the very best restaurants in the city. From mussels to scallops and salmon, to pork loin and chicken, and the wonderful focaccia bread, we all were blown away by the flavor a of each dish. We all plan to return soon when they open in their new space next month. Element is The Best!

Lovely place for dinner. Waitress was friendly and helpful. Soup was awesome and so were the beef mignonettes! Homemade bread really fresh from oven with a bit of spice. Pastry chef does fascinating deserts but I couldn’t pass up the crème bruelee.

The food is absolutely awesome! I love the employees and the atmosphere! This place makes me feel like the Cheers bar… where everybody knows your name… and they’re always glad you came!

My parents discovered this place a while ago, and now it’s a must-stop for lunch when we’re in the area. It’s a small place in an old house and everything is very good — good ingredients, good meats, delicious soups. My mom had a fantastic crab tomato soup and I had The New Guy, ham, bacon and pastrami with provolone, green peppers and herbs, and my dad had the Gazebo, ham with melted brie, tomato and honey mustard. Both were great, and we loved the rolls, which are house-made and delicious. I wondered if they sold those separately, I’d but them. The sandwiches were all $ 8-$ 10 and well worth it. Service was friendly and good too. They also have a big wine selection and beers too. We haven’t had dinner there, but if it’s like lunch, it will be wonderful.

When we got there it was tiny but intimate. The menu wasn’t huge but both my wife and I were very pleased with what we ordered. I got the beef medallion dish and they cooked it perfectly. They have a ton of different micro brews so that was a plus. And the fresh bread to start was very tasty. Oh yeah and the dessert was also better then average. All around glad we went and would probably go back if we’re in ever back to the area.

Came here at lunch time on a Saturday and had a sandwich. The bread was overly salty but the sandwich had quality ingredients. The price was reasonable. The service was slow, only one person was serving. The interior needs some work since it seems the building is falling apart.

Stopped here on a drive to Rileyville and it was amazing! Very cute little restaurant, great beer, wine and cocktail selections. The food was also really good, the Ruben was made perfectly, the roast beef and Brie sandwich was really good liked the horseradish mayo. They also had zucchini soup on special which you could tell was made fresh and actually tasted like zucchini. Will definitely stop in next time we’re in the area.

Really just delightful. The best(vegetarian!) quesadilla I’ve ever eaten, an interesting beer selection, and the most delicious bread & olive oil. To top it off, really lovely service.

The Element sometimes can easily be missed when one drives by… But it’s a quaint classy place. The atmosphere is really cool and laid back. The items we partook if we’re the curry chicken salad and the farmers market wrap off of the lunch menu. These were both excellent items and the service was great. We were immediately seated and after ordering the wait was not long. The cook and server were very pleasant and kind. We definitely would return here.

Great little place. Second time customer; stopped here for a soup and sandwich lunch the first time and dinner this time. Great dinner and very casual. The chef came out and gave free samples of the blackberry crisp because so many customers were asking about it. While that was great I still went with the excellent bread pudding. Need I say more?

Best meal I have ever had in The cutest town I’ve ever seen! Everything phenomenal from the warm bread, Korean tacos, quesadillas, steak entrée to the trio of desserts — OMG think I might move here just for them, not too far from RI!

We were touring the Front Royal area during lunch so we ended up coming here, since it was highly rated on Unilocal. We arrived here on the Memorial Day Saturday for lunch. The restaurant is located in a small rather shabby house along the main Royal Ave. We drove by the place and turned around to park in the rear dirt parking lot. The rear of the building was also shabby and the rear deck dinning was obviously closed. We entered through the front door. The place was not crowded so my party of 4 were seated on the left side facing the front window. The menu was limited to mostly sandwiches. They claimed to bake their own bread products for all their sandwiches so we all ordered sandwiches. We were all not impressed by the bread quality or the sandwiches. Our server seemed to be the owner or related to the owner, since she served our table as well as tended to the bar service. They do have draft beer on tap here, which was a positive. Her service of our table was adequate. Our sandwiches were not so impressive and one of our pickles had a dead bug on it. See my pic. When we left the place was packed with people so maybe we just had a bad experience. I was surprised with the Unilocal rating. I probably would not return here.

My reviews consistently touch on two things, food and service. Food usually trumps service on the star level with the exception of this particular review… We were sat down at 7:15 after a short 10−15min wait in the lounge area(it was a Saturday night in the hopping city of Front Royal) which was pretty quickly in my opinion. Waiter/Host was friendly and accommodating while we were waiting in the lobby area. When we were seated, we were approached by what my buddy Russell described as a «handsome gentleman», who was friendly and quickly took our drink, appetizer, as well as dinner order at that time(7:15ish). We didn’t receive our drinks right away as it appeared the staff was a little overwhelmed. In their defense, it seemed busy for a smaller restaurant. I mean, basically capacity on what I would imagine to be their busiest night of the week… It was literally close to 15 min before we received beverages, and nearly and hour before appetizers arrived! We had just finished a 9.2 mile hike, and even at this point had not complained once even though we were famished. When the appetizers came, they were huge portions, and pretty delicious. I ordered the spicy bulgogi tacos, and they were a bit dry, but very flavorful. The tortillas were cold, so not as pliable as a soft taco should be. The rest of the appetizers, although I did not partake of them, looked good and very large. Thank God they were large, because we wouldn’t see our dinners for another full hour and fifteen min or so. At about the one hour, I kindly but obviously frustratingly asked when our entrees would arrive. The waiter basically shrugged us off stating he was sorry but they had a «seven top» and it was slowing service. He also mentioned they only had one cook. I personally felt like I wasn’t valued as a «three top». I don’t even think we heard an apology at that point, but I can’t be sure… When the runner brought our food he basically very apoplectic, and used the words«I know this sucked bad». This made me feel a little better. Food was OK, but not spectacular. I was so hungry, it may not have actually been OK, but for review purposes, everything was cooked, and the meal was hot when it hit the table. We scarfed everything down in about 10 min. We wanted to order dessert, but it was way too risky as we wanted to get to bed by midnight. We finally left the restaurant at 9:50PM. Close to three hours later. I would try this place again on another night, as I think it has potential for a good review, but not today. PS. No discounts were offered, and we tipped a full 20%.

I remember coming here twice, but I can recall more clearly the second time I came with my parents! We were on our way home from Luray Caverns/Skyline Drive, and needed a quick bite to eat. We came across this cute restaurant and had sandwiches, soup, and dessert. The staff was super friendly and you could tell that there were both regulars and out-of-towners in the restaurant. Regardless, the staff made sure everyone felt welcome! Their dessert selection was amazing. I remember wanting everything, but I opted for the pavlova. It was SO spot on. Definitely one of my favorite desserts. The tomato crab dill soup was also pretty good, but nothing out of the ordinary!

Stopped in here for lunch before getting onto the Skyline Dr. Vegetarian sandwiches were ok, not great. Book Lover’s Special — was not a fan of the bread because it was too hard. While biting into this sandwich the fillings fell out because the bread was so hard. Shenandoah Ranger — the bread was delicious, but the rest of the sandwich was just OK. The cream cheese was a bit overwhelming. I wish the menu had more healthy vegetarian sandwich options.
