This place was pretty meh. My daughter was of course drawn in by the huge princess display in the middle of the store. so we stopped in. A pretty basic $ 4 cupcake, and a tad dry as well. If you go after dinner time, you’ll only get about 3 flavor choices. Located just downstairs from the Cheesecake Factory. I def wouldn’t go here again, the other cupcake place which I can’t remember the name of. in Frisco Square is much much better.

Got the lime cupcake and there was no flavor, nothing special and tasted like vanilla cake from the box. Where’s the lime? Will not be back, not worth the calories. Certainly was hoping for a tasty bite but didn’t find it.

Meh. The only reason I went inside was because my 8yr old liked the pink decorations and begged to buy something. Kids liked the cupcakes(probably because of the décor!) but I did not find them impressive and at $ 4 for a single cupcake, WAY overpriced. Staff wasn’t very helpful and the area wasn’t the cleanest. Overall, the only word to describe it is subpar.

I have mixed opinions of this place. I have tried a lot of cupcake shops and go back and forth with Sugar Queen. Pros: Their cupcakes are always moist Cons: Now that Sugar Queen has become more popular by winning awards and has opened more stores(4 now), the quality and customer service is going downhill. Prices have been RAISED in the last few months and the cupcakes don’t look nearly as decorated as they were before. I know a picture is always better than the real thing, but I’ve seen with my own eyes how they use to look to how simple they are now. She doesn’t respond to concerns anymore as well. Case in point– I once pre-ordered some cupcakes from another shop and they gave me one of the wrong flavors. Once shown the mistake, they DELIVERED2 extra of the correct ones at no cost. When Sugar Queen gave me the wrong order, and I brought it to the owner, Lisa’s, attention, she didn’t do anything other than tell me that I confused the girl in her shop. Other shops to consider– Dimples– more expensive, but bigger and YUMMY. Although, not as creative of flavors. Cupcakes Cubed– more expensive, but bigger and very creative flavors and very nicely decorated. Sometimes they are a bit dry though.

According to my kids, the cupcakes were good. However I have to ask the girl selling them if her apron was dirty with chocolate or dirty. She said… sometimes I help with the icing, but I also have not washed in days! literally said that! Also go take a look at the restrooms, they are absolutely nasty! Like if they have not been clean in months. No clue how the city of Frisco lets them get by with! I would not recommend at all!

It’s a cupcake shop… They are good, they are not«sing praises» fantastic though. The gal behind the counter was friendly enough, the flavor selection is unique and the cake itself is moist yet not super flavorful. I’d be happy to go back and try again, maybe earlier in the day when they are fresh?

Chocolate chocolate chip is probably consistently the best cupcake here. My kids love it. Cupcakes always moist.

I’m not sure why some of the reviewers have such high praises for this place. The cupcakes were just okay. The chocolate frosting tasted like nothing special. I’ve had just as good out of a can. The person behind the counter was not nice or welcoming. Worst of all, the place was NOT clean. There were sprinkles everywhere and none of the tables had been wiped down and they were most definitely not busy. Yuck! The fake flowers on the tables lent a cheap atmosphere, as well as, the crazy pink carriage thing which took up too much room and was largely unnecessary. I say, skip it.

The rating for two stars«Meh. I’ve experienced better.» hits the nail on the head for me. I’d been meaning to try them for a while and finally last night we grabbed a few. I had the Salted Chocolate caramel — again, meh. There was a little salt in one bite and that was it; other than a drizzle on top, no caramel; WAY too much icing with way too little flavor to speak of. The cake was moist and fine, but for almost $ 3 each, I want a LOT more than fine. Service at the Stonebriar location was lackluster to say the least and the location feels like they just moved in or are on their way out — dim lights, empty walls, very weird. I’ll stick with Cupcakes Cubed on Eldorado in Frisco — same price, bigger cupcakes with MUCH better flavor!

Dropped in after spying from Barnes and Nobles. It was a waste of calories. I bought the red velvet and salted caramel. The red velvet tasted like chocolate. I. think they used German chocolate cake for the salted caramel which threw off the flavor… with no salt. I should have drank my calories at Starbucks!

I had bought my three year old a chocolate cupcake here when we first arrived in Texas and she liked it so I figured we’d branch out and try some more favors. We got the buy five, get one free box, which was a big mistake. They currently sit on my kitchen counter growing more and more stale until I finally come to terms with the fact that they just don’t have«it» and throw them out. The sad thing is that the cakes are very good. They are moist and don’t taste artificial, but the frosting really misses the mark. I’m pretty sure there isn’t any butter in that tongue coating, tummy ache inducing icing. Oddly, the cream cheese lime cupcake is also topped with this weird icing, instead of cream cheese icing like I expected. Stay away from the red velvet if you like red velvet cupcakes. It just tastes like very mild chocolate, nothing worth eating. I will probably stop in here and buy a single cupcake for my daughter if we happen to be at the mall, but sadly we will not be frequenting Sugar Queen. Fair prices, cute store, poor product.

These are really good, YAY! I was scouting cupcakes for a friends bday party and had settled on Meringue Bakery because they’re 1.25 on Fridays. Luckily for me, Meringue was closed by the time I got off work so I made my way to Sugar Queen. I’ve tried the raspberry, strawberry white chocolate, and my favorite… CREAMCHEESELIME!!! Theyre really moist and all full of flavor. Theyre cheaper than your typical upscale cupcake shop as well… around $ 2.50/piece. The décor is sooooo cute too.

I tried out Sugar Queen cupcakes on Saturday &OMG– they are fantastic! I tried the location at Stonebriar first. I had the Cream Cheese lime. The cake was moist and delicious and the frosting was heavenly whipped confection. The. Best. Cupcake. Ever. I ended up at Willowbend later that day and what did I see? Another Sugar Queen. Believing fate had brought us together, I decided to try another one(or two).(I admit, I was a piggy.) So I bought a Snickerdoodle and a Berry pecan and took them home. My daughter took a bite of the berry cupcake and her eyes grew as big as saucers and she shoved half of it in her mouth. At this point there was maybe ¼ left and I had to wrestle it out of her hands so I could have a taste. She didn’t like the Snickerdoodle as much, so I got half of that one. I used to be ambivalent to cupcakes, but not anymore. These cupcakes may supplant layer cake in my affections. Downside: they are small and pricey — nearly $ 3 with tax. The service at Stonebriar was helpful. The service at Willowbend was not helpful. Two girls there didn’t greet me or ask me what I’d like or if I had questions or anything. They just stood watching me and one rang me up. I get better service from a Wal-mart cashier.
