I drove by this salon today and was reminded of my horrible experience. I would encourage you to read the ‘not recommended’ reviews that are hidden as they ring true considering my experience. Long story short, I needed my hair colored dark brown. Wound up pitch black, blacker than night. I was very upset. Hoped didn’t look so black in natural light… ah…even worse in natural light. Elvira black hair isn’t a good look on this forty something. And I paid for this hell. I say hell because when I spoke to manager and she had me return only to wait for her to go to store and buy Prell and wash my hair over and over again at their salon hoping to strip the black down. Dried my hair out, and still had an ungodly black mass on my head. No partial refund offered. No alternative fix. Had to wait a long time for black to fade and grow out.

I love Janelle!!! Her talent is beyond amazing and I get compliments on my hair all the time! We did some fun purple, magenta and platinum during my first visit. It’s stylish and classy — the color placement is perfect. My cut is adorable too. I’ve seen other work by Janelle, more traditional colors and highlights, and they’re equally as beautiful. There’s nothing this girl can’t do and she’s exceptional at creating custom looks for her clients. Janelle has a passion for hair and it’s obvious in her work. Thank you, Janelle, for making me feel gorgeous!!! I really love the color line at Jump Jive & Wail. My hair really holds onto the color and it’s shimmery too. Very pretty colors.

Strongly recommend! I originally stopped into the salon asking for a donation for Early Child School’s teacher appreciation. I approached the front desk and the owner, Diane, was there and greater me with a smile. I asked if she was willing to do anything to help; without hesitation Diane asked me how many staff member were at the school. I told her 120 total staff and much to my surprise she said please give me till 4pm and I will have a $ 25 gift card for every one. I reiterated that there was 120 staff members. She was kind in her response to me explaining that she supports schools and teachers. I came back about 5PM and they were ready as she stated. I was so impressed by this generosity that I came back the next day to get my gmail cut. Diane remembered my name and a few of he stylist remembered me too. Mariah gave me a hair cut but even better than that we had a great conversation. My hair looked great and scheduled my next appointment for three weeks out for a 20% percent discount. I would recommend this place for customer service you just don’t find anywhere anymore.

Kirsten is the best here. Hands down. She has great taste and hairstyles and is a magician when it comes to hair color! The atmosphere is great– if you can get past the Christian music constantly blaring at a place where you would think 50s music would be playing. That’s truly my only compliant is the music choice! But so far I’ve survived! Ask for Kirsten! She’s fantastic!

i bought a keratin treatment as a groupon… the results only lasted 2 weeks… so even with the groupon it was a complete rip off… i would have still given it maybe three stars since the girl that did my hair was really pleasant and sweet but the reason I’m rating it as a two is because the girls acting as the receptionists were really annoying and rude. I asked a question about the products and they were laughing and were not professional at all… overall not a great experience

Warning !!! Do NOT Work for this woman. She claims to be a Christian business woman but expects her stylist to offer work through Groupon and her personal trading, she keeps the money and the stylist works for free ! She can’t seem to keep her books straight and will keep your tips. Maybe Tabitha need to visit. I would hate to see any stylist get taken advantage of like how this woman has done. BEWARE

I tried Jump, Jive, and Wail as a random selection — I did not know anyone who had gone there, I was just desperate for something new, something different. Luckily, it was a great choice! From the initial booking to the hair appointment thru to the checkout I was very pleased with the experience. Located in the«old» downtown Frisco, the salon has a nice retro(but not over the top) feel to it. The stylists are not a bunch of newbies straight from school(whew!) but they are not old school grandma curl and set types either. I get the impression that they are the perfect mix of experienced but up-to-date, willing to offer new ideas and experiment. Kirsty Jo did my hair color — and for the first time in a long while, I was happy with day one of the color. I brought in a picture of cut and color, she discussed with me my likes /dislikes of what I had and went from there. My hair turned out great — no small feat since it was over processed to begin with and I was going darker. I really love it. 8−23−12 — I have been 3x now and am still very happy with Kirsty and the salon itself.

This place is great! I just moved back to the area and wanted to find a stylist a can keep coming back to that wasn’t over priced, they explained their prices and what they offered. I had something in mind that I wanted and she(sarah) was able to do it exactly how I pictured it. I was overjoyed with my new hair color and even the cut. I will definitly go back to sarah when it’s time to do my hair again. THANKYOU!
