The ladies at the cutting counter were very rude. I asked multiple questions and they didn’t even bother to help me find anything. Not helpful staff at all!

I shouldn’t even give one star for the poor fabric counter service I received today. No customer service at all just employees who passively aggressively blabber while lines of people are waiting balms giving up and leaving. Finally after a ridiculously long wait for help a costumed teen came by & offered to help. Don’t use this store i

We actually really enjoyed shopping in this Jo-Anns. I think it’s bigger and has a better selection than the one off Plano Parkway in Plano. We found lots of stuff we didn’t know we needed, lol. And, they had the one thing I came for, which was tattoo transfer paper! You can print on this paper using your home printer, then make it into a temporary tattoo. They already have Halloween stuff out, but not a great selection, hopefully they will get more decorations in. If you are looking for Halloween themed socks, however, look no further! At least 20 different styles can be found here! They also had an interesting clearance section. One star gets deducted for check-out though. I stood in line at least 10 minutes and there were only 2 people in front of me. The cashier had absolutely no urgency. By the time I got to the front, there were at least 6 people behind me in line. I saw other employees walking around doing other tasks, and no one thought to open another register.

Do not sign up for any of the classes at Joann’s. They cancel every single one of them!

The most disorganized store and no one knows anything. We signed up for a class and took it. One of the things to purchase were rub on stickers. Not one person in the whole store could help us or knew what they were. We asked 3 people. Unbelievable disorganized! Don’t bother calling customer service to complain. They are just as bad — they don’t care!

Sadly, my experience was as bad as those previously written. I read them before visiting the store, but I’m an optimist and decided to try them anyway. The prices are fantastic, but the folks working there seriously hate their jobs. I know this because they openly complained about customers right in front of me and the line of other customers while waiting at the fabric table. It was very awkward. When any customer asked a question, they were not just annoyed, they were brazenly rude in their response. Even my 19 yr old son(who is usually very sympathetic to workers) was shocked. I thought… eh, I can handle it knowing I’m getting a great deal, however, when I got home I had a large hole in the center of my fabric. Luckily, the project I was working on was my trial run for practice, plus I didn’t want to hassle with the sure-to-be confrontation with the return. Its like going into Walmart: lower your expectations, thoroughly inspect the product before you buy, get in/get out.

Cutting counter use to be horrible and that is much better now. Very helpful. Today was extremely busy so the store was a disaster however I’ve been the first customer in the store on multiple occasions and it’s looked the same. Even areas that don’t normally get hit hard are gross, like dirty gross not just cluttered. Looks like a major rack dive is in order.

Was so happy to find out Joann’s does custom framing. I have this painting I’ve been wanting to frame forever. I was told to go to Hobby Lobby and I did, great options but more then I was willing to pay. Joann’s Fabric took a photo of my painting and digitally showed me my options. I not only got a lower price but a thicker frame. Can’t wait to pick it up!

Sure, they appear to be understaffed(and slower, especially at the cutting table) but overall, I’ve received some pretty good customer service, especially from a manager named Amber. I was dying to get my hands on some clearance fabric that was sold out everywhere else in local stores. Instead of being pawned off to another store, Amber decided to look into getting this fabric shipped in from other stores across states and surely, they came through with a total of 10 yds of fabric(which I requested for) about a week or two later. Generally, the employees are checkout counter are also pretty nice and speedy. Between this location and Rockwall’s, I’ve got my Joann’s shopping covered. My warning to all is to STEERCLEAR of the PLANO store… unless if you’re desperate for a miserable shopping experience.

I go to Joann’s for odds and ends for my various craft projects. Its usually my go-to for ribbon, sewing notions, and poly-fill, etc. Granted, their yarn and fabric selection is for amatuer and children’s projects, but they have decent décor items that range from rather nice to disposable. PLUS the coupons can make this place a relative bargain. Its generally a nice store to have access to in your town. This location, however, is a major disappointment. Wait, that’s actually kind of an understatement… its somewhere between major disappointment and some level in hell, leaning more towards hell. Waiting in line at any Joann’s is slow, and you have to pay attention to make sure your items are cut right; that’s a given pretty much anywhere. The cutters at this store, unfortunately, are particularly slow — in movement and in thought process. As in –MINDNUMBINGLYDUMBAS A BOXOFHAIRSLOW. All I wanted from this place today was to purchase a short length of wired jute ribbon. Pretty simple, right? I picked up a spool(which apparently was mis-filed, btw) and proceeded to pull a number ticket. After about 10 minutes, I got to a cutter. I got the length I wanted and then was subject to audience her fumbling with the ticket. She called in two or three of her colleagues and none of them NONEOFTHEM could figure it out! They were so baffled, why couldn’t they get the machine to compute a fraction? I suggested that perhaps they could do the math manually? And if the math was difficult for them, I could bust out the calc on this handy postit? And if they couldn’t find the SKU, mark it miscellaneous with a note to have it reclassed by their accounting system later? That is, if a store that presumably large in volume would even care to reclass a dollar or two of revenue… but I digress. Anyway, so after awhile, the cutter figured out that this ribbon was only sold by the spool! SOLDBYTHESPOOL! It couldn’t be sold by the yard or even quarter yard! JUST. COULD. NOT. BE! EVER! OMG! Well, ok, so it was filed wrong with the other by the yard ribbon but they have already cut it, and what’s done is done.(nine inches, in case you are wondering about the particulars) Now, one would think it would be simple enough to just charge it off as miscellaneous and let me buy it, right? NO. I could buy the whole spool for $ 15, but my expectation was to buy it by the yard. With their fumbling and myopic customer«service» I quite frankly wasn’t interested in buying a spool from them. I didn’t cut the spool, they did, and now its«spoiled»(their words) so now they have to damage it out. Could I have the damaged piece? Could I buy it? NO. I asked the cutter lady what she was going to do with it now if she wouldn’t let me buy it, and she said«I am going to have to figure out how to inventory it out.» Really, lady? REALLY? Wow. Are you that shortsighted and chickenshit? Its extremely rare that I encounter a person this GROSSLYINCOMPETENT. Seriously, if you are in town and you need something craft oriented, try Hobby Lobby up the street. Screw this place.

I wandered about for half an hour. No one greeted nor helped. In fact, passed the same employee three times in three different aisles. Turns out she was to be working in the framing area, which was empty when I passed it, twice.(I had to ask someone else who she was.) Not sure who runs this particular Jo-Anns, but they need to organize their staff. I left.

I go to this store because they usually have everything that I need for any craft project. They send out some awesome coupons too so I usually go in the store because I have coupons. I am pretty creative and love to knit, sew and glue stuff so this store makes me feel like I am feeding my crafting habit. One of the best Jo-Ann’s around.

I’m by no means a creative person by any stretch of the imagination, but this Jo-ann’s makes me wish that I had it in me to make my own dresses and drapes or knit a funky looking hat. But I frequent this place because i can find the things I need for my mom and sister who has the creative chromosomes i wasn’t born with. I love this store!
