I guess it was the only place open on a Sunday? My husband is a cook, and I’ve been a waitress for a decade, so we recognized what must have been either sysco or fsa food pretty quickly. That being said, it’s way overpriced for frozen and re-heated food. Whoever does the ordering really needs to step their game up, we went to market Chef the next day, and they had cheaper sandwiches, that were made with local ingredients. The brunette who took our order was super nice, she is the only reason this review got any stars at all.

Love me some Bean. Have you seen the view from the harbor? Have you had a cup to go so you can tour the downtown area with it’s amazing views? Coffee is a staple in Friday Harbor and this is a great local place in the heart of the downtown to get your caffeine on.

Friendly staff, the blueberry scone was delicious, and great coffee. I haven’t been to any other coffee shops in Friday Harbor but this already is my favorite one!

A delightful café and coffee bar! Great sandwiches and salads, delicious coffee and tea, and a very friendly staff! We discovered this place thanks to Unilocal. They have two great vegetarian paninis including a cheese roasted peppers with pesto — which was wonderful! It was a hearty lunch after whale watching today. Also I sampled and bought some of their homemade Carmel. WOW! It is a must!

I like the friendly atmosphere of this cute café, where I had a cup of green tea. The service staff are friendly, and there was an electrical outlet where I sat, which allowed me to charge my phone because I was camping and had no way to charge up. Thanks, Bean Café, for letting me charge my phone battery!

Service a little impersonal, but a nice selection of beers, tasty coffee and sandwiches, and right near the ferry and waterfront. WiFi very fast and free.

Delicious coffees(possibly best on the island?), ample seating, hot and cold treats to eat, and a live feed of the ferry dock so you can look up, see the ferry, yell«OHCRAP!», scoop up all of your things, and rush out the door. It’s perfect. Absolutely perfect.

Friendly and fast service, despite long lines in the morning! They open @ 7am and are ready to go at that time. Lavender latte for the win! Absolutely fabulous! Parfaits are delicious as well!

We went here for breakfast and had one of the worst experiences. The lady who was at the cash counter was — Unwelcoming and ignorant. That’s not what I want see before my first meal of the day. — Asked me to repeat my order more then twice. Probably because she was not paying attention. We ordered 2 Panini’s and tea. Tea was pathetic and panini’s bread was too thick and brittle. At a place like this, I would have expected the sandwiches to come with fries instead of potato chips. The only sauce available was sriracha, no tomato or mustard. I am never returning here and would not recommend this to any one else.

I came one morning in search of the place on the island that can do a latte the best, The Bean Café is not that place, and to date I have not found a great latte on the island. I would have been willing to give the Bean Café another try, but when you fill your roster with teenagers that do not care about anything other then themselves, you end up with poor customer service and employees that have an attitude towards customers.

Great place to relax for a minute before or after the ferry and to just get your bearings. The food and coffee are great and the staff is super friendly. They even have monitors on the inside of the café that show the ferry coming in and out so that you can keep track of when you need to head out. Love this place and it has such a laid back feel, will be back.

Came to eat here while on a day trip to Friday Harbor. Nice little coffeehouse with a small menu offering sandwiches, salads, and other breakfast varieties all made in the kitchen. I decided for the lunch option of a BLTA which was good, nice portion size, my boyfriend got the chipotle chicken panini which had a lot of flavor and was filling. The breakfast sandwiches looked awesome too. The only reason I wouldn’t give it one more star is that it’s pretty pricey for what you are getting. For two sandwiches, a chai, and an ice tea it was $ 30.

Overall waited 20min for a wrap. A wrap that was more like a panini? Weird idk but it wasn’t even good. Super slow service. Wish the taqueria next door was open -.- they should maybe have more than one person(who by the way moves as slow as a sloth) making all of the orders… A couple who ordered 10min after us got their order first… Totally annoyed.

My mom and I are big fans! Great place to hang out in Friday Harbor while you wait for your ferry. Also great for breakfast! Love the steel cut oatmeal! It is amazing. They make some awesome smoked sea salt caramel. Buy that! Great lattes. Friendly staff, cool relaxed atmosphere. Overall nice place. Big fans of the bean!

Breakfast burritos great, service not so. The nice guy at the register got the order wrong. Blond gal prepping food behind the counter was a jerk about it. Tourist trap attitude with good food. Meh.
