I had no idea there’s a vineyard on the island! Stumbled upon this place by accident during our drive around the island in search of things to do/sites to see. This place was pretty dead when we were here even though it was a sunny day on the wknd. Inside the tasting room we were greeted by a friendly lady who offered us tastings for only $ 5 per person. The vineyard is known for its white wines where the grapes are locally harvested, however, the reds all come from Eastern Washington. Outside the tasting room is a small church and a covered seating area. Also outside is a row of small tractors on display. Everything was going well until my mom approached the fence that surrounded the vineyard. She stuck her arm through the fence to try and get an unobstructed shot and, suddenly, whack! She was electrocuted by the fence! Who puts up an electric fence these days?! Well, I didn’t have an issue with that, however, I did have an issue with the tiny, barely readable yellow sign on the fence that indicated the danger of electrical shock. Actually it was more funny than serious, but a huge FYI for anyone who visits!

Fun place to taste wine and sit outside. Most of the grapes are not grown on the island. They should have a discounted tasting pack of all wines for $x.xx. Otherwise it was a fun place to visit that also carries chocolates, salts, crackers and everything was fairly priced. This is a fun tasting room. The pours are large, and more about drinking the wine then a tasting 1 oz pour which worked for other people in the tasting room who seemed surprised to see me drink through all the wines before they finished one glass. I did not find any of the wines to not be drinkable, and the balance of reds/whites was nice. The pinot Gris went well wish fresh oysters from Westcott Bay that we picked up earlier in the day.

Wasn’t really planning on stopping by until we spotted a camel across the street(we had to do a double-take). The old white schoolhouse is right at the entrance and is enough to make us top for photos. We proceeded to enter the store where they also offer 1 oz tastings for 6 wines for $ 5. The store carries different WA wines, wine prints, bottle stoppers, cards and stationery and everything else with wine theme. The hostess was not very friendly when we walked in(no greeting or smile) — made us feel we were not welcome and are just a bunch of «looky-loos». Well, we could have easily walked out, but we chose not to have one person ruin our fun weekend. We all did the tasting and purchased 6 bottles of wine(including«Mona» named after the camel) along with other gift items. Will we stop again? We will and hopefully, the hostess will be having a better day!
