Food was mediocre, and service was ok too. It’s not terrible by any means, and is «a-ok.»

Best Mexican food in the San Juan Islands! Always great! Authentic and hits the spot. Make sure to get the blended margaritas. They are always strong. House specialty.

My Great Uncle who’s been a local in the island for 25 years said this is one of his favorite places and wanted to take us for dinner. Upon walking into the location it was completely packed for Wednesday night I have to take this as a good sign being that it is a island. The atmosphere was very lively there was a lot of people talking laughing and chatting everyone seem to be having a great time. It was almost like this was the gathering restaurant that everybody would go to. When are waiter came to take our drink order my great uncle said their margaritas are hands-down the best he’s ever had. And considering he lived in LA and Hollywood for 20 years that’s saying a lot. They had about 10 different flavors you could get and I chose the BlackBerry. If the BlackBerry was hands-down amazing, it makes me want to try all of the other flavors. When we ordered our food it was nice that the waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu. My mother has limitations on eating cheese and cannot tolerate anything spicy. All of us were able to find items that accommodate our needs and that were full of flavor. Our food came out extra Remely hot. The waiter advised us not to touch the plate as it was very hot. Sometimes I think this is a good thing and sometimes I think it’s a bad thing that I can burn myself while and enjoying my food but when I can enjoy a hot food a lot longer it’s better. Overall there was so much fun had we were there for several hours and we were not pushed to hurry up and leave like most places do. The food was fantastic the drinks were great and the company was even better. It was nice to see the owner even around making sure the quality of his restaurant stays. I can’t wait till next summer when I get to go back and will definitely be eating at this restaurant again.

Seated at a table that still needed to be cleaned off then waited more than 10 minutes and finally had to specifically ask that the table be cleared. Then had to ask for menus and water. Finally had to flag someone down to ask for our order to be taken. It almost seemed like they were understaffed, but there were several employees walking around, most just ignored us. After quite the wait we finally got food and it’s the worst Mexican food I’ve ever had. No flavor whatsoever. I would advise avoiding.

If I could give no stars I would. I’ve never in my life had such a terrible experience… I walk into a restaurant where all employees were wearing what ever they wanted, at least I assume, but I never could tell who actually worked there… I was forced to guess who was a waitress by their lifeless soul sucking gazes. Was seated and waited 15 minutes for my order to be taken. Once order was taken the 2 waitresses disappear for what I assume would be a Virginia slim break. After waiting over an hour with no refills on either drink or chips and no one bothering to try and come over while trying to get their attention. Finally an hour and 20 minutes in and a new waitress equally as depressing in demeanor shows up to apologize for the wait and says that our meal will be the next one out! Which it wasn’t… Here’s the deal, the food wasn’t anything special it was standard fare. Which is why in a rant this long the food is only mentioned in 7 words. Make that 20 words because the salsa was trash that tasted like they dumped a packet of taco seasoning in…

The salsa was bland. The service was poor. The food was a step above Taco Bell. The margaritas were pretty good, probably to compensate for the food. Would not recommend this place.

Large portions. Local feel. Very friendly. Ordered Beef Colorado MI casita burrito. It was HUGE and very tasty. They brought multiple rounds of chips and salsa. We were very pleased and would return again.

This restaurant is located within Friday Harbor Suites, a little up from the downtown part of Friday Harbor. It’s DELICIOUS. You may not get parking because it shares a parking lot with the hotel. We didn’t necessarily have high expectations because it was an easy choice after a long fun day exploring the island and we didn’t feel like leaving the hotel for dinner. But it blew us away not only in good service and friendly waitstaff but VERYGOODFOOD. We like Mexican food and have had some gourmet Mexican experiences but this is pretty up there in terms of taste and portion size. Price wasn’t too bad either. I found them accommodating with some of our kids substitution requests. Highly recommend!

I was extremely happy. I am from California and picky about Mexican food but I left pleased. The service was great, very friendly. The portions were worth the price as well, I heard they were decent size and that was true. I read some bad reviews and almost didn’t go, sometimes I know people over criticize or go at a bad time, so I went and found out for myself. Me and my wife both ordered the combo plate with enchilada/burrito with shredded beef. Nice environment my wife said, I agree. I wasn’t upset about the seating arrangements either like another Unilocaler, it’s a restaurant. you will never have privacy lol. We didn’t have to look at anyone else our whole meal, haven’t even had that luxury in larger buildings. I think everyone should give them a try. Also, they took an extra minute or two to bring us our extra order of tortillas so they said they would be free, for $ 31.96 we got the two combo plates, side of rice and choice of beans included with meal price of $ 12.95 each plus an order of rice for my son for $ 3.95, just drank water. As for them being busy or having to wait in line. false, at least on our trip. We went tonight 6÷14÷14 a Saturday, night before fathers day and got seated instantly and our food was ready in less the 20 minutes. hope this helps someone, it is expensive to eat on this island, and with limited choices! And summer price increases everywhere.

Mi Casita is the place to go for a reasonably priced, great tasting margarita. It is a little off the beaten path, but well worth the walk. Joe is my favorite bartender.

First off, the service was good. Nice hostess and waitresses. The food on the other hand is not that good. Chips were stale, guacamole was not homemade(I mean it’s not hard to make a good homemade guacamole just mix all ingredients together. The margaritas were strange tasting and the entrees were so so. The rice smelled and tasted odd. Large portions sizes.

Mi Casita’s food and service is always good for what it is – a family Mexican restaurant – and we’ve been coming here for years. Tonight we ordered shrimp fajitas and enchiladas di mare, both were exactly as expected: sizzling hot well-seasoned shrimp, peppers, onions and more served with warm tortillas and typical toppings; enchiladas had a fair amount(and I opened and looked before eating) of real crab, bay scallops, shrimp and more. And, our server was super friendly, quick, and appropriately attentive. We’ll keep coming back.

Was told by the locals that this place is «THE» place to go for Mexican on the island… wondering who I irritated to have them send me here? «Arrive at 5! Be there early or you’ll be waiting in line!» Was the warning… Wife and I got there at 4:55 and where the first ones to arrive to find a guy setting up the patio. We walked up the steps and where promptly told«uh, we’re not like open yet.». I asked him if we could grab a chair on the patio and hang out in the sun? Him«umm…I guess so…». Not an auspicious start to this little adventure. 5:05 the guy walks over and asks«so what’ll be today? Just so you know, there are no margarita’s…someone forgot to turn on the machine.» that’s okay I quipped, I like mine on the rocks no salt, so does the wife. 5:10 chips and salsa with 2 glasses of water 5:15 and the Margarita’s arrive… taste like grocery store sour mix, and a faint whiff of Poncho Ville gold… guy taking care of us, «so did you two want to order some food?». We ordered 2 quesadillas, one pork and one di mare. 5:30 margarita’s empty and the peasants are lining up like cows to a milking… staff seems very harried… 5:35 someone who I have not seen before asks me if I would like 2 more margarita’s? «Yes please» responds me like Oliver asking for a little more please Sir? 5:38 hostess following someone out of the door«but your food is ready! Are you sure you want to leave?» There where some choice explicatives delivered and the sound of a Prius making best possible time(and what is that really?) out of the parking lot. 5:40 quesadillas arrive… is this a joke is all I hear bouncing in the vaults of my shocked brain… you should see the look on my wife’s face… 5:40:45 what is that smell? Oh it’s the ‘seafood’ in the di mare quesadilla. It took 45 seconds to register the visual of slightly overcooked tortillas, naked, and so close together the fillings must be residing in another dimension between the tortilla’s… 6:00 quesadilla’s marginally picked at, no sight of our original waiter… maybe he is trying to get margarita slushies to pour? Chasing down a fleeing Prius perhaps? Oh wait! There he is, check presenter in hand and wondering if we want anything else? Did you notice the uneaten food there Mr. So $ 50.00 bucks later and much aggravation… I can safely say, follow the peoples example in the Prius instead of waiting to be bitterly disappointed by this level of gross indifference. I know Friday Harbor is a tourist driven economy… but how long before they get a clue or go under in ignominy? I know which way I would bet…

Great atmosphere, friendly people, great menu. Food was very good and the only thing that needs improvement is that the service was slow. I’ll definitely go back.

Good portions, decent food, great service, and a margarita with a serious KICK! If you get a chance to see the owner fill up the margarita dispenser, it’s quite a spectacle. Everyone cheers MOREMOREMORE! Definitely worth a try.

If you are looking for Mexican food on the island, this is the place to go. It’s a family restaurant so expect lots of kids. The seating is kind of cramped since the tables are so close together but you can also sit outside. The fare is moderately priced and the portions are big.
