Based on the past three experiences in the past two months, I need to update from my five star review to three. The quality of the food has changed recently, something is off/different, texture, temperature, meat too dry, etc. Also, almost every time I call now, there’s things on their menu that they say they are out of, and that sucks because we usually get in the mood for certain things and then are disappointed when we can’t get things that are written on the menu. Also, ordered tacos special for a friend with allergies, plain asada, was discussed with staff, and then still had all the cilantro and onions, she couldn’t eat them when we got home. Hoping it was just a random experience. Also tried some new things on the menu. Tried Menudo for the first time ever, and maybe this wasn’t the best place to have a first time for that, I took one bite and gagged, terrible smell, maybe that’s normal, I don’t know. did not like this at all, but what do I know about menudo? Tried a quasadilla and when asked if I want everything, didn’t know what he meant, either I or him should have clarified what that meant, I didn’t know it meant putting all kinds of wet onions, peppers, and salsa into the quasadilla which totally killed it for me. Last three times, all taco meats were overcooked and not very flavorful. This place was the best, not sure what’s going on with their award winning tacos!

Cute little hole in the wall with a Panda Express trash can, but hella good tacos and tortas! For the price of typical street tacos! Has a nice little space to sit inside to escape the heat!

This place is pretty good. love that their corn tortillas actually look like corn(i see a lot of places that make me question the masa) and their tripas is bombbbbbb! Crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside… the asada I thought was a bit bland though. Maybe the tripas was just that good that the asada paled in comparison? Prices are very decent as well… I’ll be back again when I’m in the area :)

Great service and even better food I remember loving their tacos since I was a kid my family would go to their taco truck every Friday on McKinley and first and they still satisfy.

I had a couple tacos from their food truck at Goldstein’s and I cannot accurately express the amount of disappointment I got out of their $ 2 tacos. I had ordered lengua tacos and was informed that it was not available. I don’t quite understand why it was listed on the menu if that was the case, but I digress. I went with asada. You can never go wrong with asada. The asada in itself was mediocre, but the tortillas were insanely greasy and the edges were hard and stale. The amount of meat could be compared to an infant’s handful. It was an extremely stingy serving, and for being the only customers buying, you’d think they could spare an actual portion at the price of $ 2 per taco. Definitely the last taco truck I would ever opt for.

Very expensive for the size meal received. Place was not well kept. Food was okay, but not worth a trip to a very shady part of town. Too many transients and wannabe thugs hanging around the front entrance.

Still leaving a 2 star review. The food is still okay, but they have raised their prices.

The asada is amazing! I’m so happy I found this place is really good and the prices are very affordable. The prices will be going up soon but I’m sure it won’t be a drastic change. The beans and rice are okay but the meat is amazing. I had a asada sope and my boyfriend had asada tacos they were both amazing. You should definitely stop by!

Very, very good! Always pleasant service and the food is Excellent. Their Molcajete salsa is too die for and they also have great prices. Wish I could give it more than 5 stars.

I’ve been to their truck once(carne asada burrito) and their shop twice(pollo asada burrito both times). I thought they were both meh. Kinda bland. A disproportionate amount of bland rice. Nothing fantastic, even though my most recent trip was a 1AM burrito.

Starving as usual, we wanted some Mexican food from this side of town so this was definitely the closest! The tacos are pretty pricey at $ 1.50 each, I’m usually used getting 2⁄3 pieces for the same price. Burritos are priced fairly at $ 4.50, I got the vegetarian burrito of course and found it quite tasty but I’ve had WAY better. Worker was cute though so I guess that helps out, I don’t think I’m coming back unless I’m going to give my number to the cutie behind the register.

I come and go to this place more than I have time to check in; how fortunate that I live so close to this place and the hours they are open. Love the burritos and Tortas but today i got my usual 4 tacos. Can’t stop won’t stop

I’m hesitant to let everyone know about this but… we asked for chilaquiles(which does not exist on their menu) and… Belén, the owner came out and made them specially for us. Wow, who does that? Do you realize how much work it is to make chilaquiles? Do you have any idea how amazing her homemade(I said HOMEMADE!!!) rojo and verde sauce is? This lady makes those sauces herself, no friggin herdez cans in this place, no sir! Dang that was AMAZING! Sure it took a while, but I watched her cut up a stack of corn tortillas and fry them up so we would have true chilaquiles. Add in perfectly scrambled eggs, a touch of cilantro and onion, then top it with her ridiculously tasty verde sauce(we ordered only one plate with verde, she made us one plate of each, red and green!), toss in some above average beans and rice on the side, OMG! Apologies for the shouting but this place is so worth shouting about… you know how some people go door to door proselytizing? Basically what I would do for this place if I lived in the 559. Oh yeah, the carne asada burrito is also equally amazing, and all for about $ 6, which is borderline stupid cheap to my mind. Conclusion: please don’t abuse the privilege of asking for the chilaquiles, tip well if you do ask for them, and enjoy the heck out of em if you do… otherwise, enjoy everything else on the menu and be thankful that a person like Belén has bestowed upon us some of the best Mexican food I’ve ate, and that include my mothers cooking!

Tacos are really good. Meat is very very juicy and has really good flavor. The salsa is delicious. Beans had a burned taste and ruce needs more flavor. I would go back for more tacos. Rice and beans needs improvement.

If you are wanting taco truck tacos, this is the place! The tacos here are very good, I don’t really like the side of town it’s on but it was worth my drive. Will be coming back for sure!

I wanted to come here a few times before writing a review to see how consistent the food was. The first time I ate here, I had a carne asada burrito from their food trailer at Gazebo Gardens, and I was hooked. Well, a handful of trips to their brick and mortar at Shields and Maroa later, I’m happy to report this place is incredible, and super consistent. I can only attest to the carne asada and adobada tacos and burritos at this point, but let me tell you, they are delicious. The tacos are small, ricos tacos style, with a doubled up corn tortilla holding meat, cabbage, cilantro, onion, and the picante style sauce. The meat is perfectly seasoned, and well complimented by the lemon wedges that accompany the tacos. When ordering tacos, 4 is usually a good amount here, filling, tasty, and inexpensive. I love how they do the burritos here, wrapped, then grilled, served with lemon slices. I normally like to liberally apply copious amounts of hot sauce to burritos, but this place does not have a self service salsa bar. They will give you sauce if you ask, but I’ve discovered again that the lemon squeezed onto the meat compliments the flavor of the meat so well, I find myself not needing loads of picante. The food here is spectacular, and I’ll certainly be coming here more often to explore other menu offerings. If this spot had beer, and a salsa bar, I’d bump it to five stars, easy. But for now, I’ll settle for some amazing, authentic, and affordable Mexican taqueria style food.
