The issue was not resolved. Out of the blue, I received court paperwork that said that Kings Credit and Ellis Enterprises were suing me. The women at the Credit agency, told me that Ellis and The Reef«…can charge us whatever they want». Simply not true. I started to write my rebuttal. I had phone records, copies of certified letters I sent, it turned out to be a 40 page deposition, and when I went to file it, they told me it would cost $ 325, which I could not afford. In the end I was sued for the entire bill, with no explanation and the bill for the lawyer. I called them up and tried to set up a payment plan… and they were mean and rude to me. Treated me like I was a piece of trash. They started to put paperwork through to garnish my wages unless they received my authorization to pull money from my bank account. They froze my husbands bank account as well. Now I’ve moved away and I got a better job, and I’m going to be homeless with my husband and son by June if I don’t find an apartment, but I’m getting denied left and right for apartments because this judgment is on my record. Don’t live at The Reef. You will be screwed!

This was the worst place I ever lived. Looks nice, but the management, namely, Shannon is incompetent. They do not deal with issues that are in violation of the rental agreement, such as loud music, living next to domestic violence, beer cans and cigarette butts in the flower beds. And watch out when you move out, they will take all of your deposit. Please review«California Department of Consumer Affairs for California Tenants» under section«Refunds of Security Deposits». They engage in these tactics that are not legal cause they think they are dealing with indigent people who do not know their rights or do not have the the time to pursue their legal rights. Sex offenders live in the complex and around and they keep that quiet. Breakins and vandalism to vehicles also exist. People need to come together and stop big corporations from fraudulently ripping people off. Hopefully, my spreading the message is worth more to someone else and will stop them from moving into properties owned by Scott Ellis, INC. But if you do not heed this, be prepared for what I have listed above and take pictures of everything in the apartment at the time of the walk in… they will try to rush you through and when you move out they will go through everything like a fine tooth comb. I addressed the manager, Shannon about that when she pulled on the old, mix matched color blinds and they broke out of their holdings. I asked her why she did that and that is not the purpose they serve. She said she was going to charge me and proceeded to yell this is dirty, dirty. I tried talking to her and she stomped out of apartment and yelled, «Let me do this is peace and quiet.», and then returned acting very immature for a 60 ish year old woman. I called Garrison Ellis about the unprofessionalism and he said, «Don’t worry about it.» Then I get my deposit back for about $ 50 out of a $ 500 deposit. I am a neat freak and everyone knows that about me. I was charged for things they do to every apartment when someone moves out… which is illegal as mentioned above and I don’t know how they arrived at their figures without providing proof… which they must do. My advice… find a better place than this dump…
