The place looked good online and was overpriced. 176 a night and then with taxes and fees it was 200 a night. The reception took longer than normal. It is really confusing where the main office is because it looks like Oliver’s is connected to it. There was no bar area. The rooms were musty and moldy. The ac took 8 hours before it the room went from 85 to 74, literally 8 hours. On arrival no one had turns the ac on for us. It was a mess. The rooms were fancy with the bathroom having two different door knobs inside and out. It was like a motel 6 than had been slapped with new wall paper. The carpets were a dirty red and the tv was too small for the room size and dresser it sat on. The ac was not just terrible it was loud. Try sleeping through that. The outside walls of the place are stucco and the stairs are ok concrete stairs the kind you see at a super 8. It just felt cheap. For 200 we got ripped off. I felt like it was more of a 65 a night place. Also the people there who stayed near us were the type of people who you would see at cheaper hotels. I laid to avoid all of that but did not succeed. I only stayed there because I had to because all other hotels were full on last minute notice. My fault and I paid the price or should I say I overpaid the price as it would be paying just staying there for what the rate should be: 65 a night. Just want to warn the rest so you don’t fall victim too. Also I don’t think they have elevators.

2 Unilocal entries for this hotel in Fresno with two different spellings as well. Don’t know which one is correct. Here is a copy of my review from the other Unilocal page. Would just like to add that they have more than one meeting room available. There is a dining area at the back of the hotel as well. Was not crazy about the food that I had there for the latest business meeting. My steak was flavorless. Have not spent the night here. Only come here for business meetings. The experiences that I have had here at the Piccadilly Inn has been fine. Staff has been welcoming. Lobby and restrooms are clean. Meeting room is okay. Cannot say anything about the rooms. Maybe someday I will be able to.

There were so many problems I don’t know that I have time to list them all, but I’ll try… –We showed up and they had lost our reservation. –We gave them our credit card information to get a new reservation and an hour later, while we were lying in bed falling asleep they called our room(10:45 at night) to get our credit card information(for a 3rd time). –On our second day there we got a notice from the bank that we had been charged close to 400 dollars(at this point it should have been no more than $ 125). –We went to clear it up and had to wait until the next morning. They then charged my father-in-law’s card. Now, 4 days after checkout they have charged our first card AGAIN for $ 216 and simply told us it would have to be 5 – 7 days before they could fix it. Over the course of our stay they asked for our credit card information 5 times and charged us incorrectly twice. Oh, and the hairdryer and iron were both broken in the room. We called first to have the hairdryer replaced and they brought us a new one. We asked for a new iron and the response was«i’ll see what I can do.» We were leaving for a wedding in 45 minutes at that point. Good thing we didn’t wait since they NEVER brought the iron to our room. Simply put, there was not one part of our stay that went correctly.

Horribly managed. The manager will charge you $ 50 higher than quoted just because she doesn’t like your race or appearance. She should be fired and the hotel be reported to the better business bureau. Thankfully there are other hotel options in this town.

I would like to say that I’m extremely disappointed in every aspect of this property as well as staff and management and will never book or even refer this hotel again. Before this incident, I have booked with this hotel so often(15 + times) for my Doctor as it’s usually the cheapest when they head into the Fresno area. Due to this, the hotel is supposed to have my credentials on file so that whenever one of my Doctors show up all they would have to do is check in and grab their room key however last night this was not the case. I received a phone call from one of my Doctor stating they’re currently unable to check in. Naturally I call the hotel to see why there is an issue and to resolve it promptly as this was around 10:20 pm and I was woken up out of bed. There was a man who answered the phone and after some discussion, I find out that the hotel will not accept my current credentials on file and, proceeds to tell me every single time guest checks in they need a credit card from room incidentals. Naturally, I know this, and this is why my information is there in the first place, so this doesn’t happen. This gentleman then tells me I need to fill out a new form and send a new copy of my CC and ID even though it’s right there in front of him. I asked why will I need to send the same information your currently looking at, and this is the first time in all my time booking with this hotel I’ve had this issue and feel going through all this hassle is unnecessary. My answer back was sorry, but that’s how it is. After hearing all this, I’m starting to become a little frustrated. However, I have the all the documentation faxed to my home fill it out and then faxed it back. Five minutes later I’m answering another phone call from my Doctor, who is now telling me they won’t accept the paperwork I just completed and faxed back to them. Once again I’m on the phone with the hotel and proceed to find out from the gentleman at the front desk what is wrong with the paperwork and see I didn’t put his last name on the form… Now this is starting to get out right ridiculous as were sitting here talking out the only person in the lobby trying to check in.(honestly wish I wrote his name down) I asked the gentleman on the phone if my Doctor can just go ahead and write his last name on the form. I feel that would’ve been a simple fix, and the issued solved however he tells me, NO it has to be in the same ink… The same ink are you kidding me. Now keep in mind this is around 10:30 at night the front desk is asking for all of this. So at this point, the only thing I can do is just get it over with because the one this is affecting is my Doctor. So after having the front desk fax me all the paperwork over again and I fill out everything over and fax it back. Now I’m thinking to myself finally this issue is taken care of, boy was I wrong. About 4 minutes or so later I’m getting yet another call from my Doctor now telling me they won’t accept the paperwork. Here it is after 10:50 pm and you are telling me they won’t take the papers, so they can’t check in. Once more I find myself on the phone yet again talking to the front desk, this time, being told that the front desk manager Renee will not allow them to take the paperwork because it’s after 5:00 pm… SERIOUSLY. So after all the phones calls and faxing back and forth they sit there and deny the paperwork on top of that the room was already booked and paid in full through Expedia. At this point, I’m exasperated by what has just happened however as a gold member on Expedia, I then contacted them to try to get a refund due to the hotel not allowing my Doctor to check in. In the end, however, my request for a refund was denied by the same person who wouldn’t let my Doctor check in. The experience with the staff was repugnant and extremely unprofessional. Even though I lost 119.00 for the night, I will not be booking at this Hotel again so who loses in the end. I hope this review helps anyone looking to book through this hotel I highly recommend going someplace else and do not waste your time or money. This hotel just lost a customer for good.

There is only one reason this hotel gets a star and that is the front desk staff. Drove in from the bay area for a work dinner. Check in to my room and it was 78 degrees. Called front desk to see about air and are told they are 2 pipe hotel, so nothing to do about it. However, they did have a room towards the back of the property which are newer and have the wall type unit. Great — thank you! Walk in the room and it smells like urine. Maybe it just needed airing out. Go to my dinner across the street, come back to watch the Warriors game(room still smells), only to find that ESPN is scrambled. Okay — we’ll use WiFi and watch on the laptop. WiFi doesn’t work, use my HotSpot. Decide to get undressed, take my socks off and my feet actually stick to the carpet. Look for a plug behind the nightstand to plug in laptop… food galore on the floor along with 35 years of dust. Other nightstand? Bloody tissue behind that one. Got dressed, packed and went to the front desk to check out. The girls at the desk were sorry and said to call the manager on Monday to arrange for a refund. I would not recommend this property to anyone! The one star goes to the gal that called me about 15 minutes after I’d left to tell me she had contacted the manager and she was given authority to begin the refund process. She apologized again, I thanked her and suggested they find new cleaning service. Made the 2−½ hour drive back home in the pouring rain.

Pros: Moderately inexpensive, hot breakfast Cons: Front desk/reservations system mistake prone, aging facility Stayed here on a trip to Sequoia/Fresno area. I booked reservations way in advance and got the usual e-mail confirmation. By the time we actually went to Sequoia, though, our schedule had changed a little and instead of two nights at the Piccadilly we wanted to stay only one night. No big deal, there was still time to cancel the second night penalty free. When I called the Piccadilly, however, they only showed a one-night reservation. OK, this doesn’t hurt us since we now only want one night anyway, but what happened? I wasted about one hour calling and recalling, trying to make sure that a mysterious second night charge wouldn’t show up on my credit card. No one was able to help me, so I finally sent an e-mail self-verifying to the person who had helped me that I was only staying for one night and she had been unable to find anything in the system about second night. When we got there we trudged all the way to our room, luggage in tow, only to find that the double queen room that I had specified was not the room we were given. Back to the front desk. So we finally get to a room with two queen beds. It’s clean, but dim and dated. Considering the Piccadilly Shaw is more value priced, I don’t hold that against them. Just want to make sure nobody thinks they might be in for a pleasant surprise. Wi-fi was slow to the point of being unusable. Aside from exterior building doors not auto-locking, everything else was in working condition. Breakfast was decent, with some hot items like sausage and an amusing pancake machine that output pancakes on demand. They came out of a slot, conveyor belt style. Not as much selection as some hotels I’ve been at, but good enough. I did notice that the hotel gave us coupons for the breakfast, and the staff pretty much had to be present all the time to collect them. Gave me the feeling that they are battling freeloaders. Will I be back? I dunno. It wasn’t god awful, and some of the problems could easily be remedied through better staff training. If nothing changed, I would probably scout around for better deals first and then use the Piccadilly if I couldn’t find anything.

Whenever I have to come to Fresno to work with my clients in a particular area the Picadilly Inn is manageable. In addition, to being a source to connect with my clients one of its main purposes for me is to be around the malls and great places to eat without having to travel about 30 – 45 minutes to get there. There is a variety of places to shop and eat not only your mom and pop stores but major stores and restaurants and also national bank chains so nothing is lost in being in this area. It may not be your high-end hotel(maybe a three star) where the rooms are sub-par but clean and nothing fancy. Neither time did my Wi-Fi works. The gym has about 5 basic exercise machines and there is free parking. They have treated me good but at different times did I receive a free appetizer coupon or additional information without asking. They offer a free appetizer at Oliver’s which includes outside seating along with a TV and they offer a free ‘hot’ breakfast what more could you ask for. So if all you need is a clean, nice place to lay your head and want to be in an area where you can choose anything from Jamba Juice and See’s Candies to Watts Family BBQ(mom and pop chain) or if you are looking for a CVS, Macy’s, etc. then Picadilly Inn on Shaw could fit the bill for your needs.

I only stay here for BA weekend. It’s actually pretty nice but the room layout isn’t the greatest and parking typically fills up really quickly at night. You’ve always got to drive to the back to get to your room and there’s only a few entrances that will allow you in the building to your room.

Not impressed with my experience at the Piccadilly In Shaw. This is a motel by the average American standard. They have a nice renovated lobby but unfortunately that does not make the hotel nicer. The rooms were less than mediocre. The lines to check-in were very long. We drove down to Fresno from SF for a wedding and they wouldn’t let us check in before 3pm. In fact, we couldn’t even check in at 3 pm because there was a long wait. We checked in when we returned from the wedding at about 11pm… and there was still a long wait. Bad Service + Crappy Hotel Room + Not cheap ???

I’m just making a review based on the look and feel of what I experienced. The company I work for, checked all their employees here for one night for business. I never dealt with the customer service, so idk what the service was like. What I do know is that, my room, beds(2 queens), bathroom & everything else was clean. The beds were comfy, with several pillows. Check out the telephone in the bathroom in my photos though. Thats funny! Also what was convenient was, coffee in the room.(Keurig) If I am in this town again, I’d say I’d stay at this inn again. Pretty cool, if you’ll ask me.

I’ve stayed here at least once a year for the last 10 years for business. This last trip was for pleasure but dealing with this place was anything but that. I booked a prepaid, non-refundable rate over the phone directly with the hotel. The morning of my stay I received a message stating my card had not been charged and I’d be charged the current rate when I arrived. The message was that, verbatim, followed by «so, yeah, um, bye». When I called back a pleasant voice answered. After being placed on hold for what seemed a lifetime the manager came on the phone and said, «thank you for waiting. How may I help you?» I responded that someone else was already helping me(and I explained the issue). She responded as if she knew the whole story so it struck me as odd that she picked up the phone as if she were taking an unknown call and allowing me to go through my whole spiel. She said she couldn’t help. I explained my understanding. She said there’s nothing she can do. I tried again. I asked, «is there anything at all we can do to rectify this?» The answer? «Nah ah.» Is that an appropriate answer from a mamager? Back and forth a few more times and I clearly lost my battle. Now, the property is being remodeled. I booked a King Executive room, paid a steep rate, and got a room that hasn’t been remodeled. The mattress had a valley in the middle and was held up with 2×6’s underneath. The shower spit out brown water and dirt or sediment. I don’t write reviews to rant. I normally try to point out the good and the bad in a constructive way, but for this stay, for this hotel, and for its unbelievably unprofessional staff. I think fewer than 1 star should be available.

We have always stayed here and never really had any complaints, until now! The room they stuck us in was way in the back! We have a baby so cleanliness is important. The room was dated, A/C is ran on a thermostat so it comes on and off ALL night! So your either baking hot or freezing cold, one of the worst nights sleep ever! The tub was disgusting, I didn’t even want to shower in it! The spa is not with the pool, I’ve always thought that was a dumb thing to do. But that’s not the worst, we found cockroaches!!! I don’t think we will EVER be staying here again! If I could give it NO stars I would.

Ugh, one of the worst nights we’ve ever had in a hotel. Super noisy! We could hear the kids in the room next door, the people upstairs who sounded like they were dancing in cement boots all night long & traffic outside. Rooms were extremely dated & in need of renovation. Not enough working outlets in our room to charge our phones either.

The rooms are spacious and very clean. 3 stars for the fact that everything seems a bit run down and in need of renovation for the price. Also, we arrived early and were told our room was ready… buyer had to pay a $ 15 fee for early check in. I could see if the room wasn’t ready paying the $ 15 for the maid to rush over and clean it. But if it’s already cleaned And just sitting there empty, the$ 15 fee seems like they were gouging the customer.

We picked that hotel on the way to and from Yosemite. The price was great, and we had a king bed(room 367)! The mattress was incredibly comfortable. My husband didn’t want to leave. :) There was a mini fridge with a freezer compartment in the bedroom, which made it easier to take care of my husband’s special diet(storing non-dairy milk, ingredients for a sandwich, and ice packs). It was very tiny but it did the job. No microwave. There is a supermarket 3 minutes away by driving(Called Save Mart supermarket, and open until midnight — very convenient). Staff was very friendly. The maid woke us up at 8:55 am one day, so make sure to leave the«don’t disturb» sign on your door. Premises are very quiet and we did not hear any other guest. The only time we were aware of them was at breakfast. They have a small pancake machine!(Make sure to ring your own maple syrup, because like always in hotels, it’s corn syrup). The pool was clean and nice, with extra towels available. It’s the American setting though: no shower(or bathrooms) near the pool. That’s gross to European standards, but this is not Europe! :)

One can see the remains of a beautiful hotel and property, it clearly needs attention. The security door leading into the section of the hotels in which I stayed does not lock on either side… I checked a couple of others and that remains true for them as well. My room smelled of so much air freshener I had to wonder what they were trying to cover up. The carpets in the halls and in my room were old and had worn patches. I added a star for the included a pretty standard«hot» breakfast and for the staff, they were very friendly and responded as well as they could when I had any requests or questions.

Stayed for 2 nights. Check in was smooth. As soon as you enter the room you get this smell from the bathroom, reminded me of my great grandma’s house, which wasn’t good. Room was spacious, bed was ok. Everything besides the tv and alarm clock was outdated. Wallpaper in the bathroom was moldy and peeling. Carpet just looked icky. The pool was out of towels both days. Breakfast was ok, nothing special. For a supposed 3 star hotel I expected more. The grounds was beautiful, I loved walking through the path ways. Overall, it wasn’t to bad, just fell to meet my presumed expectations. Some room remodeling would do them a lot of good. Get rid of that nasty wallpaper.

Unquestionably showing its age. A 20th century hotel, once with a «Fresno’s finest» cache-with little upscaling in last 20 years. Strong suit: Spacious rooms with fine, firm beds; Restaurant remodel going on but should’ve started with the rooms — carpet screaming to be replaced; wallpaper a bit unglued here and there. Shower curtain so smelly, we placed it in a drawer. No close at hand plugs for recharging smartphones by night stands. Front desk mostly indifferent and failed to make good on an earlier promise for accessible room. Lobby locked at 11PM. Sign on large Piccadilly Inn marquee out front by roadway only about a reward for a beloved lost dog. Management has«checked out» and can no longer ‘rest on its laurels’ as it has been doing for decades.

Large spacious and clean room. Everything was pleasantly acceptable for my wife and I rent a room based upon Expedia reviews. Pool wasn’t clean but wasn’t the worst I’ve seen. Grounds were well manicured. Hotel sprawls over a large area. Kinda feels like it was originally maybe an apartment complex that was converted. Oliver’s wasn’t open when we visited, it was under reservations. I had seen somewhere while visiting that they have been renovating so maybe that is why the inconsistency with other reviews. The room we had, had phenomenal parking access. We practically were able to park next to the door. Wifi was tricky to get running and as an IT professional was slower than I would expect. That is my only complaint.

Not the worst place I have stayed. I stayed in standard 2 queen bed room. It was not as nice as say a Marriott but it clean and it had a mini refrigerator, 30″ TV, and a Keurig which I thought was very nice. My room was a little too warm and the AC did not turn on so I called and asked about it. Apparently, they turn off the AC after a certain date and do not turn it on until after another date! It was upper 70’s when I was there. Luckily, I was able to open the window because I was on second floor. First floor does not have that option! Unfortunately, the beds are only ok comfortable and the bathroom could use a major upgrade to tile because there is rust and wallpaper peeling off around the bathtub/shower. Also, The towels are very stiff and hard and they do not provide any robes. They also do not have elevators! However, they will send someone like security to help you take your bags up the stairs which is nice. You just have to request for help. The buffet style breakfast was good. They had scrambled eggs, sausage, muffins, cereal, toast(for which you could use this cool toaster with), and a very slow but cool pancake maker. I personally really really wish they had the waffle mix dispenser with the waffle maker instead! Then breakfast would be really nice! They had coffee, water, and OJ. Other juices like cranberry or apple juice would have been nice but OJ was better than just water. :) The grounds/pool is pretty. I do not think there is a hot tub here though. I probably would not stay here again if given the choice.

If your idea of a great, 8 a.m. wake-up call is literally hearing a JACKHAMMER work outside your window, step right up, step right up! That’s right – a JACKHAMMER. That they won’t tell you about beforehand and will be hardly sorry about when you come to the front desk to complain about it. My family has stayed here after camping at Yosemite for a couple years because it is a pretty nice hotel otherwise. Not a great one — average rooms, but I love the pool, Jacuzzi, and the continental breakfast at Oliver’s. We stay here instead of making the long trek back to LA, we decide we need a little comfy break after days of roughing it on a camp ground. It’s supposed to be when we get to sleep in. BUTNOOOOO!!! At exactly 8 a.m. on a Wednesday, we woke up to hear extensive jackhammering right outside of our first-floor window. I couldn’t believe it until I looked out the window and saw that this hotel was actually outrageous enough to allow construction like that around customers who aren’t even being given some kind of discount or warning. In addition to this, another jackhammer vehicle with its engine running the whole time watched and waited for us to pack our van and drive away. As soon as we backed up – we’re not even out of reverse yet – the jackhammer pounces on our parking spot. Just, wow. We thought it would be fair to ask for half off of the room we paid $ 109 for. The manager at the front desk said she couldn’t do anything because we ordered the room through Orbitz, but if we contacted them, she’d give us $ 20 off. We thought that was BS — should still be at least $ 50 off. We called and got $ 20 off. I called the manager back and told her she really should be more apologetic about the inconvenience and lack of hospitality, but she absolutely refused. And now I’m writing this review complete with lovely pictures of all the JACKHAMMERING, which you should confirm will not be happening if you choose to stay here. Personally, I’d rather you experiment with the customer service at another nearby hotel.

It is an ok Hotel, I stayed here on business. The place is a little old and needs some TLC. The rooms are spacious and the bed was clean and comfortable. There is also a complimentary breakfast that was pretty descent, like Holiday inn express type of Bfast. It was quiet. Everything worked in the room. I just think it is too casual of a hotel, I checked in and the reception doesn’t look good. It is messy, and the employees wear a T Shirt, I think it could be just a little more formal, but I guess you don’t get that for the price that it has bee paid, which I think wasn’t much since I did not pay for the reservation.

I specifically choose this hotel because it includes breakfast and a third rollaway bed. I had a large party, 4 adults and 2 children. We all fit in the room comfortably and the room itself was clean. I booked the room for two nights off . Once I got there, they told me they had to charge me $ 20 extra for the rollaway bed which felt really unfair, given that the description never mentioned an extra charge. Those two nights cost me $ 229.50. Not a great deal but at least we all got a good nights rest. All the included immenities were adequate but not impressive. The breakfast provided included scrambled eggs, sausage, home fries, waffles and prepackaged pastries and cereal. It did the job but was hardly impressive. The wifi was slow but I was able to watch youtube.
