Went here because I had heard good things about it and I love trying new phở restaurants. First off, the service was great. Our waiter was friendly and welcoming. Now the food, I got a large #16 which is rare steak with rice noodles. This is usually what I get at any phở restaurant I go to. It was way too salty for me. I couldn’t even finish the broth because of the amount of sodium. I was really disappointed! Maybe I’ll give it another try, but for now I can only give it 2 stars.

My favorite phở restaurant in Fresno even if it is on the other side of town. We usually eat in but for an easy night at home after working all day, I can’t wait!

This has always been my favorite Phở restaurant in Fresno. It is a hole in the wall, with bad décor, but the service is GREAT and the Phở is just superb. I always get the #16 w/spring rolls and it’s just a piece of heaven. I highly recommend this place for anyone new to Phở as well as people who are long time Phở lovers. And did I mention the service is very fast! So good!

Phở was ok, not great. So many other phở restaurants that are definitely better so I’m not coming back here.

Terrible! Ordered an XL xe lua and although they gave a ton of noodles, they only gave me about 6 pieces of meat. Paying for an XL bowl I expect to have larger quantities of both meat and noodles. The noodles were also very flavorless and clumpy. The hoisin sauce was way too liquidy(pretty sure it was watered down). The service was also extremely terrible. We tried ordering in Vietnamese, then the old lady rolls her eyes and says ‘tell me in English please’. Jesus. Then they tried to rip us off by charging us for extra meatballs when no one ordered any. Never again. Shut this place down.

I like this place. It serves a massive bowl of soup for $ 6.25.(That’s their XL size). Sometimes, the portion of meat seems smaller than it should be, but then I just order a side for $ 3. For $ 9.25 my bowl is overflowing with yummy flank and tendon. They give us a kids’ bowl of soup for $ 3 or so, and the drinks are good. We usually get the boba Thai tea(If we get drinks). It’s $ 2.25(which is pretty reasonable). Yes, it is dingy, some nice potted plants might brighten the place up. But they do have a fish tank, and the soup is an excellent value. 5 stars for value.

I ordered the phở #7, size small. The broth is somewhat fatty and did lack ingredients. .. A couple of pieces of rare beef, one tendon, a couple tripes. It came out really quickly with a plate of fresh vegetables and large lime wedges. Better phở restaurants in Fresno. Will not return or recommend.

Lackluster with flavor, yet immensely salty in taste. This Phở place is certainly affordable compared to other Phở’s in Fresno where small size starts at $ 5.25 and XL bowls are $ 6.25, «is it a value meal?» No, read on to understand why. But let me sum this up for you: If your looking for mediocre tasting phở, with huge portion of noodle for the lowest price per bowl you have come to the right place. Word to the wise, this place only accepts CASH, there is absolutely no credit card transactions allowed, you probably would be washing dishes for your meal if you didn’t have cash. As I see it, this place servers a decent bowl of phở, you see it doesn’t taste bad, but doesn’t taste amazing either, its lacking lots of aromatic flavors that a good bowl of phở needs, the fragrant spice was missing, the sweetness of the beef bones was absent, it was prominently salty, and that was all I tasted in my XL bowl of noodles. Maybe it was the salt that was manipulating my taste buds senses. Furthermore, despite the price being cheaper than other places, their«meat» portion is also much smaller, so to say this place is great value for its price is farfetched. My testimonial is based on my order of XL #1 Phở– which basically is a bowl of phở with sliced meat, tripe, and other beef parts served with a side of condiments.(Fresh Thai Basil, Handful of Fresh Beansprouts, Sliced Jalapeño for oomph and fresh cut limes): The bowl came with really fresh clean condiments, a huge bowl containing gracious portions of noodles, but was stingy with the meat. The word ambience can’t be employed here because this place is really cheap looking, it’s rather dingy, and was not given any attention to decoration by the owners for added customer experience. In a nutshell this place is really ghetto, yet surprisingly this place is kept very clean. The highlight of this place has to be the stupendous koi’s staring at me, rather impressive in size I must say and the aquarium is kept clean. The customer service was not bad, but was not perfect either. They don’t greet you when you enter, yet they were efficient enough upon ordering, I ordered my meal and within 3 minutes my bowl was served, I suppose I was pretty impressed there. Overall, this place wasn’t horrible, yet it did not impressed me. My advice for this place is to maybe reduce the saltiness in your phở slightly, maybe then I could taste your flavor.

We were passing through Fresno on our way back from Yosemite to LA and decided to stop for some food. This place looks more like a street food shop in a developing country. If you can get past the scary décor, the food is decent and very fairly priced. We got their spring rolls and their phở. Portion size was great, meats and veggies on the side were fresh, not much else to complain about.

A pretty solid 3-star bowl of chicken phở. It’s sadly hard to find an excellent bowl of chicken phở that has more than just a few pieces of overlooked and shredded breast meat on top, which is what this had. The lemongrass chicken was also decent.

Learning from prior experience, I remembered to bring cash to this place. The building is pretty old but it’s large enough to have a big lunch crowd, nevertheless the food was really good. I can’t help but have the Phở Bo every time. I got a humongous bowl and I tried my hardest to sl consume all of it but I just couldn’t. I didn’t have the stomach or pants space. if you’re looking for good Vietnamese food this would be the place, but don’t let the look of the place for you. As always be sure to bring cash

I ordered the beef brisket and tenderloin phở. Everything was good. The phở had a really good flavor… I know it’s good when I’ve eaten everything but the broth and Im still slurping the broth from my sppon and that’s what happened here. The service was fast and friendly. I’ll be back for sure.

Wow, not often to I issue a 1. Multi offense… –no basil, and didn’t tell us until after we ordered. Please, don’t pass mint off as if it were basil –phở broth kind of watery –boba was an inconsistent texture soft in some areas hard in others –strawberry boba drink taste like bubble gum, give us what we ordered

Cash only, but they have an ATM inside. The food quality was consistent for all the dishes we had: phở, dry noodles and a rice/chicken dish. All 5*. They fell short on the drinks though. They were bland. The durian drink barely had any flavor. That ended the affair on a lower note.

Took a star away for not having hot tea at 11 am and having to wait 20 minutes for a cup of tea. Took away a star for the worst phở ever. We were visiting from San Francisco so admittedly I am spoiled from all the great phở places here. Took a star away for having a microwave. No self-respecting cook would have a microwave in their kitchen. Once I heard that familiar beep beep beeping, I knew it was going to be bad, and I wasn’t wrong unfortunately. The only good thing about this place was $ 2.75 for a bottle of beer.

My family has tried quite a few phở places in Fresno over the years and we unanimously agree that Phở 99 is the best! I never know exactly what makes me like some phở places better than others, but I guess it’s something about the portions or flavors with 99. The place definitely doesn’t have much of an atmosphere – you just walk in to white walls and floors, a TV, and a really dirty fish tank. So it’s not the place you’d go for ambiance, just good food. I really wish they’d do something about that fish tank though. The service is really nice, and they made my friend a vegetarian phở from scratch even though it wasn’t on the menu. Don’t forget that it’s cash only!

It’s hard to mess up good phở, but thank goodness this place knows how to do it decently like other phở places that I’ve been to in San Francisco and San Jose. The exterior looks really unwelcoming by the bars and very raggedy signs, but once you go in, you can tell this is one of those hole-in-the-wall restaurants. I got my usual beef combination phở that I get at most restaurants and it was really good! A small was enough for me even after a 5 hour road trip from San Diego. There’s honestly not much to say except the quality was good for the price you pay(overall with tax, the total was 5.70! REALLY cheap considering other phở places I’ve been to). Noodles were good, beef slices were good, and there were a lot of green onions in my soup. At first I was surprised that we didn’t get the sprouts and mint leaves until minutes after we started eating because they forgot. Not really a big deal to me, but at least they remembered. And the sprouts looked fresh! One thing I wasn’t really used to at this restaurant was that they use old srirarcha bottles for the hoisin sauce. don’t know what I should be thinking about that. For the most part, I would come back here if I’m ever in the area for a cheap phở fix that reminds me of being at home. I wish they offered bun rieu at this restaurant though. I wasn’t really sure how the bun bo hue or boba drinks tasted here, but after knowing they could do phở right, hopefully if I come here again I’ll be willing to try those.
