Amazing food! The tamales, molcajete and caldo were delicious! Must have the horchata with all the toppings!

Not fresh at all. I eat spicy food but the camarones rancheros are way too spicy they were more like camarones ala diabla. My husband asked for camarones en aguachile, same thing too spicy to eat. Rice was like the left over rice. Will not be coming back

Great southern Mexican food, but service is mediocre. I finally got to try some authentic Oaxaca food which is slightly different from northern Mexican food. Even tho is different is still great, they specialize in meats, beans and cheese. Not to mention the drinks, the drinks are on point. The item I ordered was called, «Clayuda» which is a crispy thin homemade corn tortilla, smothered with beans and topped with cheese and meats(almost like a pizza, sort of). Drinks are great but no fountain drinks. It was kinda weird not to have those, since every restaurant I ever been to has them. But the drinks I ordered made up for that, and I am glad it happened. The Horchata was great, topped with red sauce and pieces of melon and walnuts. The second drink was called, «Chilecayote»(brown sugared pumpkin) water drink, delicious. That was the good now the bad was the service, almost felt unwelcome by the waitresses(Hurry up and buy type). One waitress tho took the award of the day with the faces, eye-rolling, plate slamming and got some of our orders wrong. I still didn’t let it get to me since I was having a great morning. Overall food was great and I will return to try other stuff. I rate this place 3.5

Ok so this place is the bomb. It would s so amazing I never would have thought I would like the food so much. They serve the best chips and salsa and the dinner I ordered was served in a big molcajete with nopales and grilled green onions! Really good prices. The ceviche de camaron was awesome as well. Would definitely recommend this place for really good food.

I really usually like this place but this last experience was kind of a hot mess. My food was not very good, chicken soup, and my husband’s meal was okay. They serve a very unique horchata, which I enjoyed, and a nice hot chocolate/pan item. However the service was very slow and we discovered Thursday night is karaōke night, which was really loud and kind of annoying for a 630pm dinner.

I had heard and read many great things about this place, unfortunately it was an expensive let down. We ordered the huevos El ranchero, which was pretty tasteless and I had the Huarache con asada. The asada had more grisl then meat and no flavor. I got so grossed out by the meat I could not finish. The chips and salsa was pretty bad too, I don’t get that. The restaurant also had one $ but should have had $$. So we came and tried, we love new places but this one is not going to be a repeat! I did love the unfiltered Tamarindo. Country fair and El Toro are still our favorites!

Amazing food and great quality. If they had better chips and salsa, they would be perfect. Never had anything off the menu that wasn’t delicious.

Solid four stars and way better than other Mexican restaurants in the area. Keep in mind this place serves Quoxacan recipes which may be slightly different than traditional Mexican food(important). I personally enjoy the difference. I’ve been here about 5 times and I always enjoy it, the customer service is always average, I hope it improves but the food is excellent! Try it for your self!

Food here is disgusting. It does not do a good job reflecting the typical Oaxaca cuisine. I should know because I’m from there, and this particular area. I tried it after a coworker suggested I come here, and it was a huge disappointment. I asked for a plate of tasajo which was like $ 15 and it tasted like it was sitting in the fridge for many days. I was mostly served rice and beans which also tasted like they were rancid. If I wanted to eat rice and beans I could’ve made that at home for less than $ 2…my wife tried the mole and it was okay only they don’t make it from scratch. The restrooms were disgusting and smelly. I don’t know what all the fuss is about, there are many other great restaurants. Don’t waste your money here.

So, we actually happened in here by mistake, but decided to give it a try… it looked clean, however, there was NO hand soap in the bathroom and«back-up» measures were already in place. They had hand sanitizer. I wonder what the staff was using. Then I noticed a tiny brown spot on my table cloth which was white with a plastic overlay. It was a squashed baby roach. We gave the waitress $ 5.00 to cover her troubles and left immediately.

Yummers. So many delicious drinks to try! I had one with squash and it was so good. as for the food, great mole options. I loved my red mole. next time I want to try the goat dish, my friend had it and it was highly recommended. This is the sort of place you want to try something different each time, but it’s hard when what you get is so delicious.

Something’s Burning. It’s an old Kenny Rogers and the First edition song. You may not know the song but it perfectly describes my feelings about Oaxca. Sit wherever you would like. Says the friendly waitress. I review the extensive menu. There it is. Shrimp Diablo. The waitress brings me delicious tortilla chips and salsa. I order Guac, Shrimp Diablo and a coke. I sample the delicious salsa. And it begins. That slow burn that is going to keep growing. The Coke, hecho en Mexico, comes in a bottle. Delicious. Oh, I would also like a water please. The salsa burn continues to grow. Soon the delicious and freshly handmade Guac appears. As does te Shrimp Diablo. A generous portion of shrimp in a red sauce that is even hotter than the salsa. Rice, beans, wedges of Guac, lettuce and some tortillas are also included. Sweating, an a good way, from the burn and as full as I could possibly be from the delicious food, I ask for the check. As Kenny Rogers said, «Something’s burning. And I think it’s love.» Thank you!

The Mole Negro was delicious. It had robust flavors that didn’t compete, but complimented each other. The other highlight? The tamales! These tamales are wrapped in banana leaves and were so moist and flavorful. I wouldn’t say this place is inexpensive, but I would say you get fabulous value when you factor the quality of the food. Oh, and don’t forget to try the horchata compuesta. It’s a rice water drink Oaxaca style– which means some chopped melon, chopped walnuts and some sort of a squirt of red syrup. It was refreshing and tasted great.

Their rice beans and chile are great. Lots of flavor. The only thing they need to change is. stop serving store bought chips. Or at least buy them from Vallarta.

Had the black mole with chicken and the red mole with pork. Both were so incredibly good. I lapped up all the sauce with chips and tortillas. I haven’t had a whole lot of moles, but these were easily the best I’ve ever had. One of us ordered the fajitas, which were kind of meh. Overall it was bland and the chicken was dry and overcooked.

The location may not be the nicest area in town but this is a lovely gem for sure. So far we’ve been here twice and it does no disappoint. My brother, who is a fairly picky eater, really seemed to like this place and dare I say he’s even trying new things? The food is full of flavor, and had a very rustic feel. It makes me think of our trips to Mexico and the tiny little places we’d stop to eat along our road trip. It’s my first time trying food from oaxaca and I loved it. My first visit I had the clayuda which was incredibly large and quite tasty. But the best is the clayuda mixta, which my brother had today. Today I had the mole megro and it was very tasty, it was spicy with a slightly sweet hint of the chocolate and bold flavor. My mother had the botanas which was not bad but you get more bang for your buck with some of the entrees. My dad had the same thing both times, I believe it’s the molcajete de mariscos, and it was fairly large. It came with langoustine, octopus, shrimp, fish, and a side of rice and fries. Everything was cooked right on point, and seasoned well. As far as the atmosphere is concerned, the place is quite packed in the evenings it seems so it can get a bit loud and a bit cramped. The tables are fairly close together. The décor is a bit simple, nothing fancy, rustic if you will, but trust me you won’t come here for that. When it is busy the staff can be a little slow, our original waitress passed us several times before my dad went to say something at the register. The waitress we had the last time we were here quickly came to attend us and told us from now on to call for her when we come in. She was very pleasant and very attentive, and joked back with my dad when he threw out a silly joke here and there. All in all, this will be a spot we will return to in the future and hopefully for breakfast as the menu for breakfast looked delicious!
