I had used Mark for many years to remodel my home. Initially he was responsive, & trustworthy Projects may of taken extra time, but were completed. The 2 bathrooms he completed look great. However, last year I made the mistake of giving him an «advance» for future work. He completed a small portion of the work and then stopped responding to phone calls or text messages. I also paid for a bathroom window 2 years ago which was never delivered and the projects that were «pre-​paid» remain pending projects. I tired for months to reach out via voice messages and text messages to no avail. Tonight I found out that the tankless water heater he ordered and installed 5 years ago will cost $ 800 to vent correctly and may actually need to be replaced with a tank water heater! Do not use Mark — he has changed from trustworthy and someone who I had considered a friend to someone I would never trust again. My hope in writing this review is that no one else ends up paying for something they will never receive.

Beware and do your research before accepting a contract with this guy. He calls himself a contractor when he is relying on your money to supply for everything before getting the job done. He may have been in business for the amount of years he claimed but he lacks efficiency. He agreed on a contract with me for kitchen and Windows. He finished the kitchen but never came through with the Windows. All promised on the contract dates were late. When it’s time for the Windows, excuses after excuses after taking my deposit money. If my deposit are not refund a lawsuit will be waiting for him.

Mark Johnson Construction has a suspended license and cancelled his bond, however, he is still operating under a suspended license. Please beware.

Mark designed and built an outdoor patio, deck, and grill as well as kitchen and bathroom remodels for my family. I can’t say enough good things about Mark and his incredible talent. The work is beautiful to behold. Up close you can really see his craftsmanship. He brings so much experience and expertise to the job. He anticipated some structural problems on a remodel by offering alternate solutions and adjustments to our original design ideas that saved us a lot of time, expense, and headache. He’s personable and easy to talk to. This is no small thing when you consider how involved a remodel can be. He and his crew were always conscientious and considerate and into account our family’s comings and goings during the overhaul. From quotes, to explaining details and costs, to keeping on top of things, Mark was a joy to work with. He’s based in Central California, but has done work for a number of friends and neighbors here in the San Francisco Bay area.

Mark Johnson is a highly skilled and very professional general contractor. He has a decorator’s vision and the skills to make that a reality. His prices are fair and he is very dependable. I highly recommend him for any and all of your remodeling or general construction needs!
