Yesterday I went to cash a check from MoneyGram that was a replacement for a lost money order. I handed it to the girl behind the counter and she stamped it and then asked for my ID which to me was weird because she didn’t even make sure that I was the payee before she marked it with the stores official stamp so they can cash it. Then she asked me where I got the check so I explained to her that it was replacement for a lost money order and she said oh okay. She charged me $ 43 to cash it. She started to give me the money then she told me to hold on so she could call the stores owner. He told her that I needed to provide the envelope that the check was sent in. I was like I don’t have that anymore, once I opened the envelope I threw it away. She said sorry then I can’t cash your check. I then told her that I wouldn’t be able to cash the check anywhere else because she stamped it with the stores stamp that said to be deposited only by Liquor King and their store number. She said no just cross it out, that happens all the time. I said really you stamp checks before you know whether or not you can cash them and she said well I can’t cash it until you provide me with the envelope, have a good night. I took the check to three different places that cash checks and they all said because of that stamp they could not cash it. So I called Liquor King this morning and explained what happened. The woman that I spoke to was puzzled as to why she would have ever stamped my check without checking first. I went in as soon as I could this morning, from Kerman to Blackstone and asked the girl at the counter what I could do and she said we can cash this no problem and it will only be $ 21.54. I was elated and she was so nice. She already knew exactly why I had the check and said they got a lot of them like that. She apologized for the girl the night before and I was content. I would have rated a zero if the girl from this morning hadn’t fixed the issue. Wish I would have gotten her name.

I paid $ 3.30 for a small Red Bull. I thought that was too pricey. There was a man asking for money outside of the building as well. I don’t think I would go back here. The store cashiers were friendly, though.
