Kaiser Permanente Medical Center-fresno

MEDICARE NEGLECT: I am a heart patient with COPD, but my Kaiser Permanente physician will not refer me to a Cardiologist, Pulmonologist, or Ophthalmologist. With my prior insurance I met with these specialists every six months (or as needed) and received comprehensive care and service. Personally, I think Kaiser’s approach to the elderly is «Just let them die.»
FINANCIAL CHEATERS: if you convert to Kaiser from another Medicare program, Kaiser will demand that you make the initial payments in advance (even though Medicare pays in arrears). When Medicare finally started paying them directly, I had to argue with several Kaiser representatives until they, very reluctantly, agreed to repay the overcharge. Based on this experience, I concluded they will shortchange patients whenever the opportunity arises.
Needless to say, I will be dumping Kaiser Permanente during the next Medicare enrollment period. It’s a shame we are forced to wait so long…
