Be careful what you say, you may have to eat your words! Such is the case with my update review. When I wrote the original review, I was teaching high school students and never planned to work with elementary students. Hah! That has all changed since I retired. I left high school students and now work with first graders. GW is a major supplier for the various items I need to reward and motivate the younger students. I can find small boxes of crayons to hand out almost like one would candy. I buy stickers by the gross as well as pencils. First graders love this stuff. The clerks are always very helpful when I need to find just the right thing. I truly love this store.

GW can be way on the pricey side, but the store has excellent quality classroom materials. I recommend going somewhere cheaper for basic essentials such as markers and crayons. For classroom posters, name tags, borders, etc, this is the place to go! GW is a teacher’s paradise!!! There are so many cute and creative classroom ideas! The employees have consistently been helpful to me as well.

GW is a standard school supply store carrying just about everything a school teacher, public or private, needs to run their classroom. I buy pencils, stickers, prize box toys, puzzles, nameplates, and teacher idea books here for my kindergarten students. I have also picked up a lot of good test preparation materials for a sixth grader that I tutor, so this is also a great place for tutors and home school parents. They also carry materials from kindergarten through at least middle school. On this particular occasion, I was picking up prize box toys, which they had an excellent selection of!

This store is soo much smaller than their Belmont store so the selection is hit or miss on classroom supplies, however it is closer to where I live so i will come here when I dont have time to go to the main store. They have almost everything that a teacher would need to start out their classroom from borders, to fadeless paper, to decorations to match each holiday or season… Overall I like this store but it is quite expensive. I try to go to office supply stores for the basics like pencils and such but go to GW for the decorations in my classroom!

They have every color of bulletin board paper and construction paper imaginable; they also have a great selection of borders in every theme a classroom teach might want. Minus two stars because they carry lots of Hispanic and Spanish-language materials and decorations to make Spanish teachers happy and kids from south of the boarder feel welcome. But they carry almost nothing reflecting the culture of the Asian kids in our community. Yeah, there is some Chinese stuff, but there aren’t nearly as many kids from the Mainland around here as there are kids from SE Asia. You can find dragons and Lunar New Year décor, but what about the Hmong New Year? Minus one star for their prices. 25 freakin’ cents for a PENCIL? That sucker better to gold plated for that price. $ 10 for a cheapo desk bell? Sure, it’s painted with with cute little apples and rulers on it, but please, $ 10? $ 12.99 for a timer shaped like and apple? Yeah, I’m a sucker for classroom kitsch, so I went ahead and bought it. Damn thing broke after a couple of weeks. Sometimes I go there with a purchase order, and sometimes I just shop there for myself. Either way, their prices really bug me.
