Had a good time when I last came here with my friend. Sat on top to look down was cool. Was up front but the music was to loud. I know music is good loud but I guess I’m not use to it. The bands were good the times I came. The only thing was if you are going to sit at the bottom watch for falling beer from drunk people. Saw a few drunk people on top kick over beer they had on the floor. Over all it is a good place to go to listen to live music.

Fulton 55 is the biggest little live music venue in Fresno. They have a nice sized stage, an open area in front of the stage, plenty of seating, an upstairs with more seating and a different view of the show, and they actually have TWO bars. One upstairs one downstairs, they are both very small, basically just grab your drinks and go. Only on big events and shows are both bars open. Each month Fulton 55 hosts an Arthop event in which they feature art from a local artist. Usually there’s dj’s and it’s usually upstairs. Haven’t paid a cover to get in during Arthop, but after 9 sometimes they’ll charge a cover of they’ve got a band or more dj’s lined up for the night. Also, they host Motown night and have a lot of comedy events here as well. Every Sunday they have what’s called«industry night» where they have a variety of drink specials. Check Facebook events for more info on all their events. On Friday and Saturday night they usually get live bands, recently they had a trance night with a bunch of dj’s. They get all kinds of bands. Ranging from Guttermouth to Death Division to Fortunate Youth — punk, metal, reggae — They always get local bands to open the bigger acts and the shows here always go late. Sometimes they’ll have 7 – 9 bands in a single night. The area right by Fulton 55 is fine. It’s across the street from some newer looking apartment lofts and there’s plenty of parking and lighting. Now, once you go around the corner either direction about 2 blocks down you’re in a bad area. So I recommend parking close if you can. Parking is free around the area.

Came to see Sturgill Simpson, who rocked it. Fulton 55 was sold out. Two levels for viewing stage, couple of bars, area outside to smoke. Great sound, great drinks, very friendly staff. Tickets, drinks were all very affordable.

Fulton 55 is my favorite venue in Fresno for live music. The layout of the building is the biggest draw. It has a decent sized stage and ground floor and the sound system knocks. There is also a second floor area with a second bar that they open up when it gets really crowded. The lower bar can get crowded at times but it moves quick and people in line are usually sociable. Bartenders are always on point too. I love Hip-Hop and they usually bring in 15 – 20 acts a year. Can’t say how many times I’ve been here. too many to count. Seen Ghostface, Murs, the Liks, Cali Agents, Hiero, Nickatina, Casual, Spice 1, Ras Kass, KRS, Pharoah Monch, Phonte, Blu, Devin the Dude, mobb deep, Planet Asia, and several other sets that escape me at the moment. Each time I’ve had a good time with no complaints. There are usually some local opening acts that I am familiar with so even if you get to a show early you won’t have to compulsively drink to stay entertained while you wait for the headliner. I stay updated with their upcoming shows by subscribing to their email chain and following them on facebook. Just saw Slick Rick and Aceyalone are coming next month. Bonus! Oh, and make sure and get your presale tickets online if you are planning to attend a popular show. I’ve almost missed out on a couple. Anyway, if you haven’t checked this place out yet, I would highly recommend it.

Great venue to watch a show. Two levels with two different bars that are equally hard to get drinks at on busy nights… you know how it is sometimes. Go see a show! Live music is the best.

I have been to Fulton 55 for a variety of events. Some Electronic music events with DJ’s of various skill levels, some band shows and some social events. I feel that this venue serves multiple purposes very well. I myself like the look and feel of the place; it is that urban trendy deal. The dual levels are nice, the dual bars are nice, and the fact that you can view the stage area from both the lower and upper area is nice. The staff is always cool and chill and the events are usually handled very well, at least those I have attended. The sound system is decent and the overall«price» of the place is on par with most in the area, meaning cover drinks etc… Parking is an issue, but it is downtown and this is to be expected, since our downtown is more than lacking in life at all. It is on the border of the downtown/tower area, at least from my POV so it may be out of the way for some people in the area, but it is a venue worth driving to if the entertainment of the night is to your liking.

Great place to see live Music, I only wish they had a few more small side tables & bar stools or chairs, the upstairs mens restroom is weird. But overall the bartenders are attentive & nice, it’s a fun place. Parking can be an issue if it’s a really busy night, you have to find parking up the street.

Awesome venue. I love coming back here. I love the 80’s Big Brother events. The staff are really nice and not jerky like some other local venues I been too. I look forward to attending more future events.

Love this place. I’ve seen some bands here and I’ve also played here with my band. It’s a great place to see shows because you can either sit on the floor level and be right in front of the band or head to the second floor and look down on the stage. There’s a bar on both levels for bigger shows. The people who work here are super cool and professional. Love this place.

I lived in Fresno all my life and sadly, I have never been to Fulton 55 until a friends birthday came along. She lived near by so she recommended we walk there and that is how I ended up here! A group named Pinch and Basura played old school music, in English and Spanish. It was interesting to listen to the diversity and enthusiasm the group had. The place was like a hidden little treasure in downtown Fresno. It was low key, casual, free lancer type of place. I am used to Banda and Corridos and this was totally different for me. They had prince music, cumbias, Spanish rock and more! I loved it! it was nice hearing the various genres of music. Also the people were friendly and honestly did not care who was watching, at one point they had a mini mosh pit of fun and not violent at all. I would like to attend again, but I’m curious if the genre change with who ever may be preforming. That day they also had a bike appriciation fund raiser and upstairs was filled with show bikes too see. Also they give free water and the securities look intimidating but were more than friendly. Fulton 55 a little hidden treasure! :)

Went to go see my buddy Gentle Jamie perform over the summer and he put on a great show as always. My problem was with the«bartender». This girl was obviously hired because she was good looking, not for her bar tending skills. She was either drunk or high, couldn’t tell which one. Seriously, she was out of her mind. She lost my credit card and spent the next 30 – 45 minutes«looking for it»(which consisted of going back to serving other people, forgetting about me, looking up at me thinking I’m a new customer, me saying«I’m the guy who’s card you lost,» her saying«Oh yeah hold on», fake look for 10 seconds, repeat the cycle). Finally I had enough and asked to speak to the manager. I pointed out to him that his employee was clearly under the influence of something and told him what was going on. The manager pulls out all the credit cards with tabs open behind the bar and lays them out on the counter. There’s 6 or 7 cards laying there, one looking identical to mine but with a different name. That made it pretty clear that she had given my card to someone else. I told the manager I can’t wait around all night for them to find my card and he said that he would call me if it turned up. I guess at closing time the guy they gave my card to realized he had the wrong card and brought it back. So they call me at 3 am and leave a message to come down and get my card. Yeah right. I had already canceled it on the car ride home and I figured they owed me those drinks I had for all the trouble. Again, this happened over the summer and I’m only writing this review now because I just got on Unilocal.Hope that bartender doesn’t work there anymore.

First time going to this venue to see Machine Head and was very surprised. The place was a bit… cozy, but that doesn’t stop anyone from having a good time right? right. They had an upstairs balcony which alleviated the crowd, my only concern was someone spitting or tossing beer but thankfully it didn’t happen. The big reason why I’m writing this review is for the security guards. Any venue that is that aware of who they hire as security guards I figure must be well-rounded in other area’s as well. They keep things in order not by bullying people and trying to throw their«authority» around, but with respect. You gotta give respect to get respect. Talked with one named Anthony and he is without a doubt the scariest looking yet nicest security guard I’ve encountered from the many venues I’ve been too. Glad they showed me that not every security guard is a complete douche that takes their job way too seriously.

This is a cool spot, but it definitely needs to get its shit together. Came here on Wednesday to watch Ghostface perform and for the most part I enjoyed myself until people on the second floor started dropping beer bottles onto the bottom floor. I almost got hit twice. The first time a bottle fell I went over to the DJ to notify him of the incident and that there was broken glass on the floor, he let me know he would have someone clean it up and check upstairs for people acting up. As soon as I returned to my area, another one fell and grazed me. The got the people downstairs extremely pissed off and they started shouting and starting a ruckus so by that time the DJ made an announcement to have security check upstairs for people fucking around and for any bottles on the floor that may possibly slip through the barricade. No one came to clean up the TWO broken bottles and the drunk fucks upstairs kept spilling drinks onto the bottom. Something really needs to be done about this. Definitely ruined my experience. Only plus side is that the drinks were cheap, however, I think this is why people were getting sloppy. Sigh. Maybe they should get rid of the bottles and just pour the beer into cups? That way they can at least prevent beer bottles from breaking on peoples fucking heads.

As a performer(DJ) and patron, Fulton 55 is probably the best performance venue outside of the now-defunct Frank’s Place. The only reason why I don’t give this place a 5-star rating is that, from my experience, there’s always some sort of sound issue during performances. Not sure if it’s the equipment or just the acoustics of the building, but it’s always something that comes up. Outside of that, all positives in my opinion!

I’m a bit puzzled that Fresno does not have avid Unilocalers. I’m so glad I’m moving to Fresno because it’s pretty much an undiscovered oasis. So I was visiting the area looking for apartments and I… Update: I started writing this review 2 weeks ago but never finished but since then I’ve become a regular at the Fulton and I can honestly recommend it to everyone because it’s a happening place. It’s nice to have a venue that has something going on almost every single night i. e comedy, karaōke, and rock bands and even spanish rock shows. The Fulton is top notch with it’s security, sound and customer service. I highly recommend it and if you see me around say hello I’m there like almost every other night. I’ll buy you whatever is on the drink special that night. Cheers.

This venue has a cool vibe to it. This was my first visit there, even though it’s a pretty popular spot. It definitely has it’s pros and cons. I’ll list a few for you: Pros: has a loft area for additional standing/viewing areas, has clean and chic bathrooms, bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable, has security posted at the door, great sound tech, overall good vibe. Cons: inside it is hot. as. hell., not enough seating options/standing area gets things really crowded trying to move to the bar and the bathrooms, viewing ability upstairs is pretty limited, if you order anything other than beer specials or well drinks it’s extremely over-priced(p.s. $ 15 minimum for card/tab purchases), parking is hard to come by — leaving the only choices in the shady(p.c. term) surrounding neighborhoods, lots of mota smoking outside. Maybe it’s just not my scene… Even though it’s a nice venue, I didn’t feel comfortable at all while there. And unless it’s a show I really want to see, I doubt I’ll be making a strong effort to return.
