I had a knee surgery done by Dr Dunklin. He did not listen to my concerns. I told him that Vicodin and its derivatives makes me sick. He insisted that I would be okay and prescribed it anyway. I got very sick as a result which was especially hard because I was having to crawl to the bathroom to throw up and then crawl back to bed. I had also advised him that I had gotten sick from the anesthesia cocktail from my surgeries in the past. I advised him that I was a widower with young kids at home and couldn’t run back and forth to the pharmacy. I had asked for Prednisone just in case I got sick. Again he refused. When it came time for billing, he is a Blue Cross provider however he still charged me above the agreed contracted amount. When he handed me the bill the day before the surgery and I protested he told me that he wouldn’t do the surgery unless I paid what he said I had to pay. So after waiting for 6 months to have this surgery it was the day before the surgery that he dropped this on me. My recovery was long and painful. Subsequently I needed an additional surgery and I went elsewhere, someplace where the doctor listened to me, and my recovery was far easier and I felt the other doctor was straightforward and did a great job. Don’t go to Dunklin!!!
