Earl spearheaded our kitchen remodel, and did a great job with the front end of the job. He is charismatic and sold me on his design aesthetic. But he over-promised and under-delivered at every step of the execution. We had several«must-haves,» including that the cabinets be primarily wood, have dovetail joints, look high-end, have a pop-up mixer stand, and have the«soft-close» feature. During the sales process, I was specifically told that what he sold us hit our criterion. He showed me pictures and small wood samples, but didn’t have the exact cabinet in the store. Based on those samples and his word we went forward. But the cabinets are not near expectation, and in many ways are contrary to the specifics we outlined in our«must-haves.» The cabinets arrived and his brother installed them. Only after the cabinets were installed did we find out that they are neither soft close nor primarily wood. And the pop-up stand? I had to call and call and call to get it installed. When it was installed, it was very cheap materials(the wood used is an unfinished plywood like you would buy at home depot, not a butcher block as we originally discussed). All of the upper cabinets have unfinished bottoms, so that you can see what looks like particle-board underneath. We could’ve gotten a higher-end look from off-the-shelf materials. In the end, we have a kitchen that is not what we ordered and in many ways exactly what we said we did not want. Unfortunately, the installation was no better. There are visible nail holes in the baseboards, left uncovered. There are visible screws in the doors of the cabinets, left uncovered. There are shims(pieces of unfinished wood) jammed underneath bottom cabinets, left exposed. Duck under the cabinets to pull out the toaster, and you’ll see writing in Sharpie, left exposed and unfinished. Even the design, in the end, is flawed. The cabinet doors hit each other, scuff, and leave black marks. To mitigate this, he installed exterior sticky plastic nodules on the face of the cabinets. Also, Earl tried to come up with a «fix» for the soft-close. After calling him multiple times, I have texts and emails showing that he knew that these cabinets did not have the features we requested, so he offered to put in a piece of hardware that would make the hinges operate as a soft close. But, again, he over-promised. Instead of an addition on the hinge, he had his brother install these large gray stoppers in the middle of every cabinet, so that instead of a clean interior line, the center of each cabinet has two big gray rods that stick out. It looks industrial and awful. And it looks like a «fix.» But can we take them out? No. Because now there are two big holes in the center of each cabinet. Yes, I’m detail oriented. But these are details that I clearly communicated to Earl at the outset were important for this job. [Note: we’ve told Earl the above complaints, and none of these things has he made right.] At bottom, we paid high-end, custom prices, but got a low-end product, poorly installed.

Hired by the homeowners to assist in kitchen design & cabinetry … BIGMISTAKE! First they said it would take 3 days to complete installation, we have been on hold for over 3 weeks because they used a Labor Ready crew to move the new cabinets in to kitchen and they dropped one in the driveway destroying the particle laminated cabinet box. They had a few other issues to resolve in regards to quality of work and finish, we had to really stay on them to try and get this job completed in timely manor. We are now experiencing yet another delay because Earl neglected to re-order a cabinet that didn’t fit because Kevin was going to «modify» it to fit, well that didn’t work so we are now on hold for another week at least, can’t finish granite tops or the tile backsplash, electrical, ect… So we walked the job with Earl yesterday, showed how and what needed to be fixed and or changed to what the customers had requested(missing soft close hinges, hinges covers that were laying everywhere, damaged shelving .) he became very angry and defensive with me questioning his lack of integrity. Just know what you might be getting into before you buy from them…

MinEarl Bier of Cabinetry Design provided the cabinets for our remodeled kitchen. I do not think it would be possible to be happier with the cabinets and their design and functionality. Earl’s reasonable pricing and quality are more than we could have asked for. We now have a truly custom kitchen. We worked closely with Earl and listened to his suggestions as well as he listened to ours. All of our cabinets and drawers are soft/auto closing which is a very nice feature. Earl suggested we go with pots and pan drawers which I would recommend for anyone. No more getting on your hands and knees to get that pot out of the back and you can see everything you have in the cabinet. THEYAREWONDERFUL!!! Earl’s brother Kevin Bier of KMB Const did the reconstruction of the kitchen and installation of cabinets. Earl’s pricing, quality and selection will not leave you wondering if you used the right cabinet supplier. If I could add a picture I would. That would say it all…
