Great food and atmosphere! I come here quite regularly and always have a nice experience. Prices are not too bad either. This is definitely a nice and cozy place to come to if you’re in the area. I’ve tired their noodles, fried rice and curry dishes and fried ice cream. Everything always tastes so yummy.

This was our restaurant by default. We had a horrific experience down the block so opted to walk down to try this place for the first time. I mean nothing could be as bad has what we had at the Crêpe n Tearia. I ordered the Thai Fried rice with chicken and pineapple and G had the Pad Thai. Thai fried rice seemed safe considering the previously not eaten meal and I was right. The fried rice was good and there was plenty of chicken in the dish. It was plated nicely with cucumber. The rice was hot and good but could have been fried a bit longer and the restaurant was a bit skimpy on the cashews. Was the fried rice good, yes, was it great, no. G said that his Pad Thai was very good and I will have to take his word for it as I did not taste it. Before the meal was over, I noticed that another customer had ordered the Thai Iced Tea. I totally forgot how much I love this drink, so I ordered one. They serve the Thai Iced tea in mason jars, how interesting. The tea was strong but good. It was a different type of tea than I am accustomed to having at Thai restaurants. Again, the Thai Iced tea was good, but not great. I have been to restaurants where the tea has been so good that you can order a second. Not the case tonight. One was plenty. The food was tasty, fragrant, hot and all around ok. Would I recommend this place, not necessarily but it was ok. We both said it was decent and the restaurant seemed clean. The bill was around $ 27.00. The one thing I did not like seeing was the oversized fishes in a very small tank. Yes I know they are fish, but these fish seriously need a bigger tank. One of the fish in the tank was being a fish bully and picking on another fish. Fish frustration, maybe, I don’t know, but as I left it seemed as if one of the fish was looking at me and pleading with his eyes… get me out of here… please. So please owners of Thai Taste… get a bigger fish tank or re-home two of those big fish. Mr. Orange fish is being a big bully to the other ones.

They were terrible. Tried to call in an order, and let me tell you… the headache of trying to sort things out after having already waited for an hour, for an order it turns out they’d never even started… Unbelievable. I am never straying from BKNY again when in the mood for thai.

A cute and cozy place near SJU! I’ve been here like three times and had good experience. Tom Yum Goong is da bomb! Prolly da best place to get tom yum in town(around Queens area) for me. Pad Thai is just okay nothing special. Garlic Duck used to be my favorite dish but the last time I was here, I don’t know what happened to the duck skin. It wasn’t crispy as usual and yeah quite disappointing. I suggest trying Crabmeat Fried Rice. It’s tasty and the portion is just enough for you to enjoy other dishes. Thai Iced Tea is great!(and they have just switched from using cups to jars). Fried Ice Cream makes a good dessert, with raspberry sauce on top. It’s close to my bf place so we would definitely keep coming back when we’re too lazy either to cook or to go to the city lol.

Came here on a rainy but quiet Thursday afternoon for lunch and was delighted to go for some Thai! This restaurant has a decent selection of lunch specials which is Monday-Friday from 11:30am-3:30pm. This includes your choice of mini appetizer(Salad, Spring Roll, Seafood Roll, Vegetable Dumpling Or Soup Of The Day.) You then select the type of meat you would like for the main course(Curry with rice, Noodles, etc) I selected the Soup Of The Day in which was wontons in which I was secretly craving! The Wonton soup comes in three pieces and is made of chicken. My main dish is the Massaman Curry; which consists of potatoes, onion, peanuts, and coconut milk. Portion sizes appear smaller than typical places but nonetheless… AMAZING. Everything in it was delicious, as for the potatoes gave it that rich texture, and the peanuts really gave it that crunch. Also ordered their Thai Iced Tea and would definitely recommend! Would like to return sometime and try out their dinner! Great service as well!

I ended up here last night with my 2 sons because we were craving Thai food. BKNY was slammed so we came here and decided to give it a try. Strike 1: As soon as we sat down, someone took our drink order. We ordered 2 Thai iced teas and a coconut juice. The iced teas came out right away but the server came back and asked what else we ordered. I told him a coconut juice and he walked away. Now a waitress came by and took our dinner order and mentioned I ordered a coconut juice for my son. She acknowledged it and walked away. We didn’t get the juice until our appetizer came out. How hard is it to get coconut juice?!(P.S. the iced tea is so heavy on the milk you can hardly taste the tea) Strike 2: My biggest pet peeve at a restaurant is when entrees don’t come out together. I can understand if it’s a huge group since it can be hard to coordinate. But there was 3 of us. I ordered a pad Thai which came out shortly after the appetizer. We waited a good 10 minutes before another dish came out and then another 10 minutes before the last dish came out. My kids were so hungry they lost their appetites. Every time I asked where’s the rest of our food, they kept saying it’s coming. That’s so annoying! Strike 3: The bill comes and for an appetizer, 3 entrees and 3 drinks it comes out to about $ 53. That’s so overpriced for the quality of food. Everything was salty and heavy on the fish sauce. I wouldn’t mind paying that if the food was good, but it’s not! My son’s beef pineapple fried rice was $ 13. $ 13 for rice pineapple and beef… wtf. We all ended up not even finishing our food. I had the worst stomach ache after as well. Yea I’m not returning.

Decent thai restaurant. It’s close by my school, so whenever i’m craving for thai food, it’s right there. Super convenient. The prices are not too bad. I like to go during their lunch special. $ 8-$ 10(depending what protein you choose) for appetizer, a choice of protein, and a entrée. I usually get their chicken pad thai & it is YUMS. It’s probably one of the better pad thai I have had. Their pad kee mao is good also! It’s not as spicy as I thought it would be, but there is a reasonable amount of spice. The only bad thing is their service is inconsistent. There are times where I would get my food within a few minutes and there are times where I would wait half an hour and still not get my food. Other than that, it’s very clean inside and affordable :)

I was worried about ordering because the reviews aren’t very good. I decided ordered anyway because I was hungry at my sister’s house in Queens. This food was good and I’m caribbean, so I know good food. They delivered pretty quick. The food was spicy as expected and good as hell. I ordered Basil rice with shrimp and Spring rolls. I will order again. I called them and told them the food was good. Ordered with my card over the phone.

It’s not a fancy place, but the food is solid. We ordered curry puffs, which were a bit too greasy for me. It would’ve been nice to soak the extra grease out, or if they fried it at a higher temp so that it less likely to absorb the grease. It was definitely duck night for us… Duck Red Curry and Duck Pad Thai. Unlike some restaurants, we didn’t have to search for pieces of duck. It was a good portion of duck. The red curry was really good, the flavor a were spot on, and the green beans super fresh, and cooked perfectly to offer the right amount of crunch. I didn’t try the Duck Pad Thai, but that plate quickly emptied in front of my eye, so it must have been good. :-) Definitely coming back again.

It took our waiter quite some time before he took our order. The place is small and it seemed like there was only one person working(there’s two). Food took quite some time to get to us. We ordered the following: — duck sidewalk noodle — it wasn’t bad, but wasn’t tasty either. — shrimp with green curry — the shrimp was nice and plump, but for some reason the curry tasted off like they used canned vegetables or something. there was a distinct metallic after taste which I didn’t like. — shrimp pad see ew — really good. but really small portion! i had to order another… — chicken pad see ew — not as good as the shrimp, it seemed like it was cooked by a different chef, still tasty. — fried banana with ice cream and honey — really yummy! All in all, it was good, not great. I would come back and try the other dishes.

For some reason they started including the mandatory TIP in the bill when dining in. I think this was a reaction to perhaps a certain demographic or barrage of «non-tippers» or the cheap element frequenting this place. I ate here numerous times and all of a sudden, TIP was automatically included? WTF? Okay, so i decided to give this place a temporary break. i always offer 15% or more regardless so i did not appreciate this auto-addition just because to many poor & broke decide they want to dine OUT but can not afford to leave a TIP! So after a few weeks, I decided to go back and surprise, surprise, the AUTO– TIP practice has been removed. Now you as a customer can once again decide how much to TIP. maybe enough people complained or decided to NOT dine here. Anyway, i also noticed when I came here with family who was visiting, we placed a large order with appetizers and noticed two sets of Asian patrons came in AFTER us and they were served their dishes BEFORE we got ours. I know Thais are very nationalistic, so this did not surprise me but again I do not agree with that practice and will no longer recommend or dine in this place. The food itself was okay, portions were small for the cost, especially the appetizers(rip off) and one can find better. No thanks.

Great spot for Thai food. I tried the fish cakes & mango salad for appetizers. Both were good. My only suggestion would be to use mangoes that are less ripe. The main courses were basil fried rice with salmon and duck served in green curry(bamboo shoots, eggplant, string beans & coconut milk) with jasmine rice. Both meals were tasty and satisfying.

Friendly & welcoming. For appetizers I ordered the Crab Rangoon & Coconut shrimp which was delicious. And for the main course was green curry chicken which comes with white jasmine rice. As well as the shrimp Thai fried rice. The food was bland BUT in a good way. The different spices made it very flavorful!

Came here for Mother’s Day since it was the only place without a crowd. Unlike the other people, I actually had a positive experience. The waitress was polite and attentive to our needs making sure we liked the food and refilled our water. For appetizers we ordered the Crab Rangoon and Thai Dumplings. For Entrees we ordered Shrimp Pad Thai and Tilapia Sidewalk Noodles. Everything was pretty good except for the Sidewalk Noodles that was a little on the salty side. I agree with another review that this place is a little on the pricey side but it was Mother’s Day so I made the exception to spend a little more than I would want to. If I ever do go back it’ll definitely be when the lunch menu prices are available.

On my most recent visit I was very disappointed with the food. The lack of quality and effort put forth into cooking my dish was quite evident. The chicken satay was bland and dry and the peanut sauce was not creamy this time it was very oily like it had been sitting around for a while and began to separate. I had to rewhip it myself to get it back to the correct texture. My massaman curry was also watery and oily, the curries here used to be so thick and creamy. Some of the potatoes in the curry were cut larger and therefore undercooked when I bit into them. There wasn’t much flavor or spice to the curry either other than the fact it was slightly sweet from the coconut milk. The jasmine rice was good, at least they got that right. I am really saddended as this is the closest Thai restaurant to me but at this point I feel it’s worth the extra time to drive down to BKNY on Francis Lewis as I enjoy their food much better. In my opinion it was not worth the wait. I placed the order to pickup and was told 25 minutes. When I arrived in 25 minutes it was still not ready. I waited about another 10 minutes. I deducted one star from my previous 4 star review.

I frequented this place during my collegiate years. I went back a few times after and had zero complaints. Today, I tried to order something to go. I called and placed my order. I was told 15 minutes. When I got there and paid I then reviewed the receipt and it said that I ordered a tofu soup. I told the cashier I didnt order that, she said oh I’m sorry I didn’t take your order. She then brought out the other woman who did take my order. I told her that I didn’t order that and I would like the correct soup. She said that she confirmed my order to me and that they will not make me another batch of soup. The cashier who originally said that she didn’t even hear my order now confirmed that she heard the other woman take my order and confirm. As soon asked for something to be corrected they got nasty with me and uncompliant. They basically told me they would not re do it & got loud and rude with me the cashier threw my $ 100 bill back at me and said you can keep your money we won’t remake the soup. I asked her to re make it and she said oh it will be about 40 minutes. Mind you, it took 15 minutes before that and there was not a soul in the resteraunt. This establishment should be ashamed of the service they provide and disgusted by the behavior of their employees. I will never again go back to this resteraunt nor will I ever recommend anyone else to eat here. If I could give zero stars, I would.

They’re back to an «A»!!! I was able to stop in here for lunch before relocating to Nevada. The drunken noodles with chicken were just as tasty as before. I also enjoyed the crispy spring rolls as my appetizer. Although I may have moved, This place will always hold a special place in my heart as my spot for«Thai lunch Fridays» in my office :)

My friends and I come here whenever we’re at school and are craving Thai food since this is the only Thai restaurant in the area. It’s a small restaurant(not as small as Manhattan holes in the wall though) but it has a really nice décor. The server is not particularly friendly though and when we asked to split the check last time, she sort of gave us an attitude… In terms of the food, I actually think it’s really good! I had my first Pad Kee Mao/Drunken Noodles here and I’ve fallen in love with them ever since! Be careful though because they are kind of spicy! I also really liked the Pad Thai as well. I actually like the Pad Thai at Thai Taste better than the one at Spice Thai because this one tastes more authentic. It has a better peanut sauce as compared to the one at Spice Thai which I thought tasted like ketchup… The Pad Thai at Thai Taste is also more saucy as compared to the Thai Taste one which I found to be kind of dry. The biggest problem I have with Thai Taste(and the main reason why I’m only giving it 3 stars) is because the portion sizes are so small! I cry every time I’m down to the last few Pad Kee Mao noodles on my plate because I’m still not completely satisfied/full! One time, I haven’t eaten the whole day and went with my friend here for dinner and was easily able to finish BOTH a Pad Thai and a Pad Kee Mao(…don’t judge me…) while at Spice Thai I was 105% full after eating my Pad Kee Mao. Despite this, I probably will be back if I’m craving Thai food… or I might try out BKNY which is a little further away!

Great little neighborhood Thai restaurant and a good bargain as well. We pass by all the time and have been trying different restaurants along this strip on Union Turnpike lately. This corner has been through a few establishments over the years, but hopefully Thai Taste will hang around. The Pad See Ew and Pad Thai are solid with good flavor. Portion sizes are on the skimpy side, but at their price point is not too bad. Just order an extra pad thai if you’re still hungry. Service was very pleasant and they kept our water glasses full, which was needed because the Tom Yum soup had some kick to it.

As a St. John’s student, this place is amazing because we have nothing better to eat on campus and this place is relatively close. The lunch special is a pretty good bang for your buck. You get an appetizer with your choice of dish. The Thai ice tea there is my favorite drink(try it! you will love it too!)u
