I stumbled upon this place looking for the defunct«Mian Noodle,» which apparently is turning into an Indian restaurant. I was not necessarily in the mood for Mexican and any Mexican in Fresh Meadows is automatically suspect(see Yummy Taco). Despite my low expectations I was quite happy with my carnitas burrito. This restaurant is in the same vein as Q’Doba or Chipotle(they even use the same font as Chipotle on their menus), but definitely better than the former and competes with the latter. In fact, if you’re in the area and don’t want to wait in line at Q’Doba, drop by this place instead. You can even get Jarritos. Only downside: no horchata.

I made he mistake of ordering here for cinco de mayo. I was craving a quesadilla. It took almost 2 hours to get the food delivered. I kept having to call back to make sure they didn’t forget about me. I understand it was cinco de mayo but 2 hours is a long time. I ordered a quesadilla and taco. Both were excellent and surprisingly still warm. They both came with lots of different hot sauces. Everything tastes fresh and quality. I would order again and hope it doesn’t take as long!

Surprisingly, really good! Really tasty rice and beans and moist, flavorful pork. Wayyy better than Qdoba. Small artsy seating area indoors and a little outdoors too.

Found this place because its near the movie theater. It’s small, but well spaced out. Very neat. Employees were cleaning the tables when we came in. The setup is similar to chipotle. They have burritos, tacos, quesadillas and nachos. My fiancé and I had burritos and shared an order of nachos. BEAWARE… HUGEPORTIONS! Their carnitas were so flavorful. It was my clear favorite. The chicken was fine, and I didn’t try the carne asada because, i was too stuffed halfway through my burrito. Decided to take the rest home and polish off the nachos. The price is in the neighborhood of what chipotle costs. But I’ve always finished those burritos… this was a happy defeat. Will be back for sure.

I would say the dining experience here is less than ideal. There aren’t really many places to sit, and there is nothing in particular that makes the dining room feel welcoming. In my opinion, they are a bit understaffed, as I saw delivery men running behind the counter to answer phones and make burritos, and then jumping back on their motorcycles to deliver them. Pretty cool to watch, but perhaps not the most efficient system. The food here is fine; better than most chain restaurants; and the portions are great. Prices are very reasonable too.

Delivery took over 2 hours, food was ice cold, I liked the flavor of the food so it’s a shame I’ll never order there again, I would’ve considered going there to eat instead of delivery but when I called I about where was my food I got such an attitude I can see they clearly have a problem with customer service

I ordered for delivery and it came 2 hours late. My food was semi cold and it was just not how I expected the food to be. I ordered the steak platter and it looks EXACTLY like something you would get at Qdoba or chipotle. I honestly do not see a difference what so ever. Maybe the shape of the«bowl»? But that’s about it. I also ordered a chicken quesadilla, when I opened the foil wrapper, it did not look like a quesadilla at all, more like a burrito. What a disappointment…

I really like this place. Went at least 3 times last week for lunch. They are very generous with their portions of meat and the prices are very reasonable. My co-workers found the meats to be a little over seasoned but they seemed perfect to me. I’d highly recommend.

I’m writing this review here with no malice or ill will towards the establishment! I just don’t see the need for Sabroso considering that it’s 4 blocks away from Qdoba. The price range here is exactly the same as theirs, Sabroso menu is as basic as can be. The location is a little undersized. It’s just isn’t good business to have an inferior product so close to a more established one! I tried it completely out of curiosity but, what I did not find there was a reason to return. Especially considering how my high schoolers hangout there!

It seems like it’s been exactly 3 months since I visited here and thought I’d give it another shot because I got a coupon in the mail. I went with pretty much the same thing I got last time, Pork Burrito, Steak Bowl and Chips+Guacamole. This time around the wife and I were not very impressed. I went around 5pm on a Sunday for an early dinner to go and the dining room was empty. It looked like someone might have ordered a delivery because they were busy preparing burritos when I got there. The guacamole was bland and the chips didn’t taste super fresh. The good part was the amount of food we got in our burrito and bowl but even then everything just wasn’t very flavorful and tasty. Unfortunately after two visits here, I think I prefer the queso, free guacamole and parking lot of Qdoba down the street.

Alright… so first let me start off by saying I was so excited for this place to open! It looked like it was going to be a cute little spot, I was hoping there would be some margarita action going on but unfortunately there’s not… but that’s ok, we move on from that. So when I first ordered from here I was going to write a review and I thought I’d give them a few more tries to get it right as they are a new place and I wanted to give them some time to get it together. I have ordered from this place three or four times since my initial first order, and every time there has been some kind of disappointment. The first time we ordered, it took FOREVER for delivery… if I had to guess I’d say 1.5 hours. Second time we ordered it was the same deal… the delivery was taking so long. I called them to find out the status and they were very apologetic and promptly delivered the food after that. The food was good this time around BUT they forgot our drinks… So last night when we ordered we decided to PICKUP our order this time since delivery is not ideal if you’re starving. When he asked«do you want drinks with that» I told him last time they forgot our drinks and he was again, very apologetic and gave us the free drinks this time around. BUT they double charged for guacamole, they put onions on everything when we said no onions on everything(literally after every single thing i ordered I said«no onions“and everything still came with onions on it. My boyfriend couldn’t eat his pork taco because the pork was no good(this is our second time getting the tacos and the first time we really liked them). Also I didn’t eat the majority of the lettuce in my salad because it was all browned. I’m so disappointed because I really want to like this place… but I don’t spend $ 30 on dinner for things to be double charged, items missing, and to throw out food. I’m sure we’ll try this place again… but the next time will probably be the last time.

I’m loving this new spot! Everyone at work loves it and for the price they love it even more!!! The food is awesome, they serve great portion of food. Cheap price fast delivery … We love ordering from this place and have not yet been disappointed. I absolutely love the quesadilla(pollo). Even the burrito made of pernil is banging … I do recommend this place for anyone who is in the mood for a yummy burrito

I drove past the other day and thought FINALLY this place is open. It seemed like that coming soon sign was hanging in the window forever. I live within the delivery radius of the restaurant and decided to order one lazy weekend. No issues with the delivery, it arrived pretty quickly without any hassle. The order was correct as well so that’s a plus. I definitely see why people are comparing the place to chipotle. I definitely got that same vibe from it. The menu is also pretty limited. I got the pollo asado platter. I didn’t find there to be very much chicken in this mish mosh of stuff slapped together on this platter. The flavor was okay. The ingredients seemed decent and fresh though. Honestly I’d probably get more chicken at Chipotle. I also tried the carnitas taco. It was okay but they didn’t double up on the taco so after adding the salsa the whole thing was falling apart from the moisture of the tomatoes by the time it got to me. They either need to consider putting the salsa on the side or doubling up on the soft taco shell. At nearly $ 4 for this extremely small taco I think they can afford to do so. The pork was also kind of fatty. They can definitely do a better job of separating the fat once it’s been cooked. The only real thing that I was impressed with about the whole meal was that it’s only 69 cents to add guacamole and the guac was pretty good but it was overshadowed by the giant glob of sour cream that was dumped on top. After getting down to the bottom of the plate I feel like I mostly ate corn and rice with a few nibbles of chicken. Not sure if the eat in experience is different but after looking at some other Unilocaler’s photos who dined in it’s starting to look like those who ordered for delivery are getting shafted on the meat to veggie ratio.

This place is basically like Chipotle but better. The price is about the same too.($ 7.41 for either Carnita, Chicken, or Steak Plato or Salad, Guacamole was an extra .69) they also have quesadillas and burritos. The steak is a must try. You can smell the grilled steak from the outside. I also asked the employee which is better, the carnita or steak. She said steak… well of course an employee there should know which is better. I ordered the steak salad and my friend ordered the carnitas plato. The only difference between the salad and plato is that the plato has rice and beans. The carnita is basically a piece of flavored pork where she shredded it apart to put on the bowl. It wasn’t too salty but tasted pretty basic. I’d say the steak was pretty good but pretty much the same as chipotle. The only difference here would be that they gave a huge portion. It was stacked and they gave a lot of meat. We also ordered a side of nachos and it tasted pretty fresh like they actually baked it. I don’t think you can really go wrong with this place.

my bf and i came here on a saturday night at 6pm so that would be basically prime time dinner and there was only 1 couple sitting down. we ordered take out . he got the steak burrito while i got the chicken burrito. i didnt like the fact that they only had 1 type or rice to choose from. i have to say both the steak and chicken were very flavorful but after eating the whole burrito, it was a bit salty. my bf loves chiptole and he said he would come back to sabroso and order their burritos again since we dont have a chipotle in this neighborhood but me on the other hand, im not too sure of it because it didnt wow me as much…

I ended up at Sabroso while searching Unilocal for Mexican eats. It was«Hot and New» so I decided to give them a try. Sabroso is located on Horace Harding expwy two blocks away from the shopping center(Michaels, Five Guys, Qdoba etc). I actually thrive off of taking the back streets(shortcuts Yay!) so I came up on the side block of this fast casual joint. I intially thought«what the hell its only houses over here» *confused face* but ended up seeing Sabroso right on the corner(184 and Horace Harding). Everyone says it so I guess I should too… Yes they are almost identical to Chipotle, kind of like a step brother. The quality of food(fresh and high quality meat), layout of the menu and the seating inside is extremely similar. The menu has a few more options like quesadillas and meat nachos, which is cool. Once I walked in I was a bit surprised by the layout, it was clean and modern but didn’t feel like it worked well with their logo. Their logo is a red jalapeño(mustache included) with a sombrero on that seems to be basking in some sort of happiness. I assumed it would have been a bit more festive and fun looking, like a mom and pop mexican joint but I guess not. I ordered their Pollo asado salad bowl(lettuce, chicken, pinto beans, grilled onions/peppers, pico de gallo, guacamole and their mild dressing, which surpringly is Jalapeño. I also scored a bag of chips on the house from the cashier which was a nice gesture. My first complaint is how little bit I got. From the amount of beans to the guacamole(which is additional btw) was the tiniest amount ever(I guess they got that from Chipotle too lol). The free chips I scored were half fresh half stale, did they just put more fresh chips on top of old ones? Weird! and the food itself was just mediocre. I probably won’t be returning

I really wanted to like this spot since I live fairly close, but sadly this burrito spot did not make the cut as one of my dining choices. This is a sad copy cat of «Chipotle restaurant.» From the signs, the specialty soda, even the extra charge for the guacamole. Lol. But the taste was definitely lacking«sabor.» Maybe, this place was a hit the first month it opened, and this is why it was rated so high, but I entered into a completely empty establishment with one of the workers sitting on one of the tables, and a small amount of food choices. I was disappointed also by the fact they had no brown or white rice. Just yellow rice, which was mushy tasting. Lastly, the black beans looked like they were sitting in plain water. What ever happened to authentic Latin food prep? Nuf said. :)
