I have never been dissapointed with this place. It’s the place where friends gather when everything else has closed. Donna the bartender is the greatest bartender on this side of the country, and she will make you anything you could ever ask for! A little crowded, and loud at times, the merriment is never questioned, if its too tightly packed, take your friends and stand around by the fireplace. There live music a few nights a week, trivia night, and karaōke. Definitely a place of Frenchtown history!

Cool old bar in the basement of the National Hotel. Some pretty good beers on tap and a nice selection of drinks. Live music was good and the décor was just enough to give the right atmosphere.

Chill is the word. Quiet basement bar. Reminds you of a tavern you’d see in The Lord of The Rings, minus the fighting. Great chill place in Frenchtown.

Thursday nights at 9pm, the Rathskeller in the basement of the National Hotel holds its open mic. Sign-ups start at 8:30 and then the top notch music goes on until 1am or so. The ambiance is that of an old antique pub, the barroom with its woodstove cranked up and the lounge with stone walls and low ceilings. And the nicest people you could meet. You will become a friend in no time whether you’re there to play or just listen and sing along. Fun times!
