Authentic Mexican food. Guac is awesome. had the steak tips with jalapeños, onions: was not a disappointment! Service was good as well. A gem as its a bit«hole in the wall“esque first time of many. Only complaint is on a hot 90 degree summer day needed a little bit more cooling and sitting by the kitchen was über loud!

Very good authentic Mexican food. Tasty and savory. Presentation is ok and the atmosphere is ok. Kind of small, but quaint. Food is worth it.

GOOOOOOOD food and service for a Mexican food in this area. It’s a tiny French town with lots of antique shops and Victorian homes. The waiter was a sweetheart, extremely nice and friendly took our order right away. The food was great. Friend and I had the shrimp tacos and vegetarian enchiladas they were tasty. They have short hours of operation that’s the only downside but other than that it was satisfying.

Had a very nice dinner here. They seem to be able to adjust menu items to suit your taste. Mole sauce is very good.

So happy with the impromptu lunch we had there. Great service, awesome food, and a take home container of the amazing habenero hot sauce we raved about without asking for it. I would recommend this place to anyone who likes authentic Mexican food.

Mediocre Mexican food. The restaurant had an awful stench similar to a moldy basement or sewer. Thankfully it was a nice day so we sat outside. We ordered chicken tacos and beef tacos but they were just bland and not very Mexican. Definitely nothing to brag about and I am sorry but I will not be returning since there are many other better options across the street..

Below average Mexican place. Location is nice. Right near the Delaware River. Food is not very good. Ordered chicken chimichanga for me. No taste at all. They forgot to put cheese in it as well. Waiter forgets to bring rice and beans. Had to remind him. Also had iced tea. Asked for a refill(at the end because he never came to check on us) and he said they ran out! All in all poor service and below average food. Won’t be revisiting this place anytime soon!

Worst service I have ever experienced ANYWHERE!!! Intially we waited for 20 minutes before I finally caught the attention of a server mentioned the delay with simply TAKINGOURORDER. After placing our order we watched as tables around us(who had arrived after we had) received their food in an UNTIMELY manner as well, however we never got ours. We finally caught the servers attention again and found that AFTEROVERANHOUR of waiting, they had lost our order. They gave us «free gauc», which DIDNOT make up for the terrible service, nor the lack of food. So we left. To sum it up: AWFUL, NEVERAGAIN!!!

We’ve eaten here twice while visiting family. The first time was fairly good, however the second time was a very poor experience with an over two hour wait for our food — including two kid’s quesadillas that should have taken 5 minutes. I get that they were busy but it was extreme and no one seemed ready to take responsibility for the wait, even when we asked for the manager. Will probably not return. A shame because the food, once it arrived, was pretty good.

The food is consistently good, but they really blow it on the details. They’ll ignore you when you walk In for around 15 minutes or so as a rule. When I finally do get seated and order drinks, I’ve never actually been served a cold soda here, despite having eaten here many times. Every time I’ve ordered take out, the drinks were warm enough to be distasteful and never have I been given any plastic utensils of even the meanest quality. Ever. In spite of mentioning this to the management before now. I’m not one to get on Unilocal and trash a business, I’d rather use Unilocal to highlight the good than bitch about the bad, but this is a pattern at this point, maybe they’ll read this?

Went to Cocina Del Sol last evening and as usual our meals were outstanding! I always get the enchiladas, since they offer a delicious vegetable filling. The chicken and beef enchiladas are also very tasty. The chips and salsa are always fresh and plentiful. We tried a dessert for the first time and OMG, it was beyond excellent! It was a crispy, fried tortilla, covered in cinnamon with 3 big scoops of ice cream on top! I will definitely get this again! Also, the servers are very nice and personable, especially Rolando, the owner’s son. The atmosphere is bright and classic Mexican, although the tables are a bit crowded. The bonus is that it is a BYOB and there are a few tables outside for dining, if that is your preference. Cocina Del Sol is our new favorite local place to dine… you can’t go wrong for authentic, delicious Mexican food that would past muster even in the finest restaurants.

Good honest Mexican food. I’ve been there a couple of times, and have not been disappointed. It’s nothing fancy. They don’t try to be something they’re not, which I like. It’s good casual food at good prices. Although it’s located in the basement of a building, the atmosphere has a good vibe. The wait staff has always been friendly and attentive.

One of the best authentic Mexican spots I have been to in the US! Everything is always fresh, consistent homemade. The service is impeccable, the servers are thoughtful and friendly and we love coming back because they remember us every time. As for the food, the enchiladas Rojas, shrimp tacos and fajitas are spot on perfectly prepared down to the mango salsa. The desserts from the churros, warm tres leches cake and Mexican hot chocolate is the most wonderful finish to an amazing meal. The atmosphere and décor is lovely, warm and inviting even on the most snowy winter night! We highly recommend if you are in frenchtown or the surrounding area!

Service friendly, but only one server during lunch on a Saturday. Hence, if you want to get in/out, it probably won’t happen. The appetizer of chorizo queso was really good. As others have mentioned, their salsa is really good. My husbands shrimp fajitas were tasty. I ordered tacos, one of each(chicken, beef, chorizo). They all had enough meat, but none had much taste. I was disappointed.

Another terrific find due to the Unilocal Nation! Stopped here for dinner after a meandering ride through Bucks County. This restaurant is located in the basement of another business, and its entrance is around the side of the building. It’s painted and accessorized in lively hues, perhaps in part to enhance the minimal natural light that filters into the space. As soon as we were seated, the waitstaff delivered freshly-made pico de gallo and warm tortilla chips. The pico de gallo was bright and the ingredients were crisp. We then ordered the guacamole, which was the chunky variety, including small diced tomato and onion. It was seasoned with lime and garlic, which were background players, so it was a mild version of guacamole. Our entrees included the Burrito Sol(beef), which was the largest burrito we have ever seen. Our waitperson advised that the burrito is one of the restaurant’s best sellers. Mr. M. gobbled it down, announcing that it was tasty. His wordless enjoyment of his dinner confirms his announced assessment. Meanwhile, I had the taco salad with shrimp. The salad was relatively simple: Lettuce, tomatoes, onions, a large quantity of mildly spiced shrimp, guacamole, a small dollop of sour cream and a sprinkling of cheese. It was not dressed, but that void was quickly filed by the remainder of the pico de gallo. It was a luncheon-sized serving, which was perfect. I would have liked a few black beans it it, but overall, it was a fine execution of a simple dish, The service was prompt and attentive. My water glass never went dry, and someone checked on us about every 10 minutes. We look forward to returning. Just one note, the lighting outside the restaurant attracts gnats, and if you are not careful, the gnats will follow you into the restaurant.

My wife and I loved the place! As mentioned by other reviewers, the restaurant is located in the basement of an old building. The décor and colors are not overbearing, and the setting overall is very pleasing. I ordered chicken enchiladas with mole oaxaqueño and my wife ordered some tacos. I can’t speak for her food, but the mole on the enchiladas was delicious. Just the right amount of chocolate and spices with a beautiful color. Definitely going back!

It was nice to find and visit Cocina Del Sol in Frenchtown. It is located in a cool subterranean setting in an old building. The owners are good Latinos and the food reflects it. The salsa was really fresh, probably made that morning. The chorizon con queso dip was cheesy and good. The chorizon was high quality and meaty, For main course I ordered the chicken sopes. I love sopes. They are my favorite dish. Cocina Del Sol did not disappoint. I generally don’t like crema on my food, but this was just the right amount and really added to the overall flavor. I am disappointed by one thing only, I believe the chicken should have be flavored more with spices. More picante. I understand, however, that local tasted run counter to flavoring the food correctly. You can not go wrong visiting Cocina Del Sol. Be sure to pack the beer, wine or tequila. This place is worth it.
