Bad service and cold food. VERY expensive. We were passed over for seating twice in the inefficient waiting process. Finally sat in the bar. Waited 45 minutes for food and it arrived cold. $ 70(without tip) for tuna sandwich, grilled cheese and mandarin salad.

Well made food and casual dining in a spectacular setting. We had entrée salads which were perfect. The steak with blue cheese and tiny onion rings on greens was delicious. The grilled salmon entrée salad was great. No complaints about service… waitress was very nice and food came in a reasonable amount of time. As for cost… pretty reasonable for a knock-out setting like this and food with big city sophistication.

One extra star for the great restoration of this historic treasure. The shrimp cocktail was outstanding. The chicken wings were good, moist and hot. Guinness on tap, bonus.

During our recent stay at West Baden Springs Hotel we decided to check out Ballard’s in the Atrium for lunch. We started with cocktails, which were fabulous. I had a martini cocktail called The Marilyn. It was really tasty and felt very fancy lounging in the glorious atrium of the West Baden Springs Hotel. Prior to being served we were given a cheesy snack mix that was delicious and really hit the spot, since we were very hungry after traveling all that morning. Ballard’s offers a lighter fare, perfect for lunch, so I opted for an artisanal grilled cheese with tomato jam, served with house-made kettle chips. B opted for a club served with fries. Both were prepared perfectly. Though I didn’t get the fries I tried a couple of B’s, and they were fantastic! Perhaps the best item of the meal. The food was great, but the best part of the dining experience truly is kicking back under the atrium as the natural light peers in through the skylights. If you find yourself at West Baden Springs Hotel, definitely check out Ballard’s. If you’re not in the mood for a meal, you can also check out Ballard’s Bar, which is part of Ballard’s in the Atrium, and allows for seating inside or outside of the atrium. Though, I highly recommend choosing to sit in the atrium and enjoy that majestic view.

Completely disappointed. It took our server(if you want to call her that) 13 minutes to even acknowledge us. The Bloody Mary was absolutely disgusting, so I took it up to the bar and the beverage manager fixed me another one that was much better, something the server should have checked on, but heaven forbid she do her job correctly! I had a bowl of soup which was tasty but we were all so frustrated with our empty waters and bad drinks that it canceled out any good taste in anything at this point. This is my second visit to Ballards and both have been such a bad experience. Do servers even care around West Baden? I truly think not. The ambience is very pretty, but it’s not worth begging for service. Steer clear of Ballards.

We had a good dinner: calamari, Cobb salad, and chocolate dome. The ambience sitting inside the dome was great.

We ate dinner here two nights in a row when we came for a weekend. I enjoyed the Fish and Chips the first night then the Artichoke Pesto Pizza with Chicken the second night. Both good but the menu items are a bit pricey, but it is a resort hotel so you’re paying extra for that. My boyfriend was less than satisfied with his food the second night but he did enjoy the burger the first night. I had the Marilyn cocktail the first night and enjoyed it so much I ordered it again the second night. We ordered the Blue Sunday(?) Cocktail on the first night as well and while the menu states it’s unforgettable, we were eager to forget it. The staff was pleasant overall. Friday night we couldn’t eat until 930 because of the 45 – 60 minute wait so go early on busy nights. A bit of a breeze that night as well as the doors kept opening for newly arriving guests. We put our coats on halfway through the dinner. The second night the inner doors were closed and the temperature was much pleasanter. The atrium the restaurant sits in is absolutely incredible. Overall, the food is good but not equal to the price.

Food was decent but when an order comes out wrong the solution should not be to toss uncooked pepperoni and bad parmesan on a cheese pizza and call it a pepperoni pizza. It’s ok to make mistake but the solution shouldn’t be to deliver sub quality food. Other than poor customer service the other food and drink was good

Nice dining in the dome at West Baden Springs unique hotel where we could enjoy the holiday festivities. Tami had the tortellini which was nicely prepared, flavorful and a well sized portion. I had the cheese dip appetizer and a dinner salad and was well pleased. There was a wine tasting with paired foods being prepared by a chef in one portion of the dining area. I’ll try that next time(reservations required). Both our server and the food service manager were very attentive and pleasant. The bar boasts a very nice wine list. After completing our dinner, we were able to take our glasses of wine to the library to listen to a jazz combo.

Come see the dome, but eat elsewhere. The food was ok, but not good enough for the price. I had the tomato bisque and tuna sandwich. They were both nothing special. The staff was not very personable. Our waitress seemed very annoyed that our kids couldn’t keep still(aka being kids). We were even scolded for it. Don’t go here with your kids unless you want to feel like being judged for not having a catatonic youngin’. We didn’t even get the bowl of crackers that the other tables got. The hotel is beautiful and if you really have your heart set on eating under the dome then this is the place to do so. Overall, I recommend sitting on the big green love sofas to stare up at the dome and then leaving to eat somewhere else. There are plenty of places with better staff and food.

Food and drinks were great. A little expensive for a couple sandwiches and an Old-Fashion was $ 10

We ordered room service from this place two nights in a row. If they were consisted then this would be 5 stars. The first night the wings were awesome. Super super crispy with lots of sauce. The onion rings were just ok. The second night the wings were ok but the onion rings were great. But owner all for room service it exceeded expectation and was reasonably priced.

Terrific bar food and very good beer. Perhaps the best part is enjoying a relaxing meal in the jaw-dropping atrium of the West Baden Springs Hotel. Highly recommend the appetizers, especially the calamari(yes, in Indiana!). Soups can be a little rich, but why not? Salads are fresh. I actually think a better meal can be had here for a much fairer price than at Sinclair’s down the hall.

This restaurant is located in the atrium of the beautiful West Baden hotel. Unfortunately the food and especially the service don’t live up to what you would expect from a hotel this nice. It is self seating(but no one tells you that and no sign). The wait staff will see you and walk right by and not acknowledge you. The food was OK but both nights we ate there one of our dishes was cold. The menu is the same as the Sinclair Cafes for lunch and comes from the same kitchen. Unfortunately I expected more. Only ate there the second day due to lack of choices in the hotel.

Service was slow, the atrium was beautiful but loud. As for the food, the prices were reasonable. The drink prices did not seem congruent with the food pricing(least expensive was $ 12 for a martini, $ 10 for a glass of wine). The fries were the highlight of the food we ordered; shoestring cut, just the right amount or crisp and salt. My caesar salad was just ok, although other the other girls really liked theirs.

Very nice bar with a tasty bar menu. Over the course of our weekend it was my favorite place to hang out. It’s a 5 star drop dead gorgeous resort so expect pricey. The drinks were very nice and we really enjoyed their specialty martinis even if the consistency wasn’t quite there(drink garnishes varied from round to round) Sandwiches were nice. The pizza toppings were spot on, the crust was not quite thin, not quite thick, but dense and hard to cut.
