We happened upon Yummy Sushi when we came for a family dinner. My aunt had made a visit before, so she wanted to bring us all along for a second round. Service was quick and friendly, although we were the only ones in the restaurant, so it wouldn’t have made sense for it to not be that way. As for the food, even though this is a sushi place, the fish is not fresh. Sure, you pay less for a roll here than you would at another typical sushi restaurant, but this is one of those you-get-what-you-pay-for times. Ironically, I would recommend the ramen on their happy hour menu(happy hour is all day, btw). No, this isn’t the artisan tonkotsu clog-your-arteries kind of ramen that has been gaining popularity lately, but at $ 6/bowl, you can get a GIANT bowl of noodles and soup(the soup tastes miso based?). My personal favorite is the tempura ramen because you also get a side(and I use«side» lightly here because they give you a LOT of pieces) of deep-fried veggie goodness. It really hits the spot if you’re looking for a quick and cheap noodle soup pick-me-up and don’t care about the authenticity. Try the ramen, not the sushi. But if you’re a ramen connoisseur, then don’t try it; this isn’t that kind of ramen place.

I failed to write a review on this place when we went several months ago. That was another one of our experiment… we went there for the first time and that was our last time. The service is a typical Chinese restaurant service… WHATSERVICE? There was none. When do you ever get a good service in a Chinese restaurant? They claim yummy sushi? More like YUCKYSUSHI. I asked for extra curry sauce, and the lady replied… OHNO we only made for one serving! With that kind of service, I’d rather throw away my money than to give them to your restaurant… freakin lady. Good luck if you’re trying out this place.

The food lands more in a 3 star range, but I give them an extra star for service and honesty. We asked them if they had uni and they said yes. We decided to try it out since the owners were so nice and accommodating the first time we came here. A few minutes later, the waitress told us that the owner said the uni they had wasn’t fresh so they won’t serve it to us. Alright, I know. Their sushi isn’t fresh. Blah blah blah. But you know 9 times out of 10 they would serve you something that isn’t fresh anyway if you order it and they have it. If you leave and end up praying to the porcelain gods all night then that’s your problem. You don’t see that type of integrity anymore nowadays, especially at Asian restaurants. Onto the food… it’s average, but it’s very affordable. I usually order the tempura ramen. For $ 6, you get a big bowl of ramen and a big plate of tempura(with two shrimps and mixed veggies). It’s seriously a great deal, one you can’t find anywhere else in the area. We did try a few pieces of sushi and didn’t get sick or anything. The fish isn’t super good or fresh, but it’s better than some other places I’ve been to. They have a «happy hour» menu all day. The tempura ramen can be found on that menu. They also have various rolls on that menu that are super affordable. I definitely don’t think Yummy Sushi deserves such a low overall rating. They aren’t perfect and definitely aren’t shiny and new, but they aren’t terrible. I highly recommend giving them a try!

Absolutely love this place. The owner. The food! The staff! Every time I walk in they give me the biggest warmest welcome with all smiles:) They know my orders. What I like, and how I like it… No Avocado! I am allergic! He has never got it wrong! You guys are awesome! Thanks for the great service and great food… every time! :)

I should’ve known better. A flyer in the mail got the best of me and we decided to give yummy sushi a try. We had 3 rolls and a tempura udon. We couldn’t taste any flavor in the fish. I experienced my first bone in a sushi roll. Worse than sushi at a Chinese buffet. The tempura was greasy and the veggies were barely coated. Udon broth was just miso soup.

Yummy sushi was a stumbled upon restaurant for my dad’s birthday, and it was such a pleasure! The waitress was the sweetest woman ever, the chef said hello to us and the owner came out to chat with us. The food was beautifully decorated and tasted good. We made happy hour, got complimentary miso soup and birthday green tea ice cream with fried bananas. Tried their fresh oysters and they were delicious! I think especially at happy hour prices, this place is a great sushi restaurant.

This is possibly one of the worst sushi places in the area. Their fish is absolutely 100% not fresh. You don’t even have to taste the sushi to know. Just by looking at the color you can tell that the fish is old and frozen. Their rolls basically taste like poop. Their food items are horrible quality and they have bad customer service. Their Philadelphia rolls are just omfq the worst thing ever. No matter which sushi restaurant I go to I always order a side a Philadelphia rolls so I feel like I’m quite the expert on Philadelphia rolls. The fish was hard, frozen, old and I’m surprised I didn’t have serious stomach problems after. Don’t come here! Save your money and go to Mioki Sushi(next to Walgreens down Fremont Boulevard), or Satomi down thornton, or Miki near the fremont hub. All in decent driving distance, Miki is a little further though.

Well this place doesn’t know how to make sushi at all! They cut the salmon in a wrong way… I am not sure how this works but that so wrong! And they use the wrong kind of rice too! Fish are fresh tho!

Upon entering, the place smelled like bleach. About 3 other parties were dining. Quiet atmosphere – no music, television volume, or even chatter amongst the diners; awkward. Waitress sat us down and upon giving our orders, questioned what the entrees were and looked at every menu entry for clarification. Food was… bleh. Bento box came with rice that had hardened(potentially leftover), bland chicken, and lukewarm nigiri. Not to mention I saw the waitress plate the complimentary edamame with her bare hands. Dad asked for a fork and he received it – a plastic one. One by one, the other parties left without responding to the waitress’ «goodbye», a clear look of disdain on their faces. As another party walked in to be seated – wait, wait – there were no other vacant tables as they were occupied by dirty dishes. Awkwardness as the family looked upon her cleaning off their table, as the mother posed the question, «so…what do you guys want to do?» I should’ve asked myself the same thing.

I stumbled across this place as it was the only sushi open from 3 – 5. I’m glad I did. I highly recommend the oysters or smoked salmon. The oysters are the freshest I’ve had. It’s under new ownership, disregard the previous reviews.

I just went to this place for lunch and got it to go. This nice server lady flagged me in and was sweet to offer me tea while I’m waiting for my food. I got myself a bento box and a special roll with 10% off. They give you many more items for the bento box compare to other places for about $ 10. I liked the food. If you’re craving for sushi but on a budget, look no further. I’ll be back!

I usually am not a person to complain about every little thing in food, but truthfully, this place offered the worst sushi I have had. The rice was tasteless and really rough, like the ones that are prepackaged in the grocery stores. It was not moist at all. There was a very small selection and all are pretty same. I ordered 3 rolls and paid close to $ 40. I honestly don’t think its fair to customers and I did tell them I am not coming back.

My party and I were the only ones here on a Saturday night. My spidey senses were telling me to avoid at all costs. But the adorable server seemed so sweet and kind.(She offered me sweets.) Should have followed that spidey sense. While I thought the service was on point, the food was really just ok for my tastes. Ordered off the happy hour menu and got tempura, chicken Karaage, lion king, spider, flower roll, a bowl of ja ja ramen. The food was just ok but filling split between four people. The sushi had way too much rice. I liked the ramen though.

Soooo sad and disappointed when I went here, looked at the menu and realized it was Miki sushi no more. And I had just gone the week before when it was still Miki’s. Yummy sushi is not yummy at all, I had to apologize to my friend that I took with me promising her good sushi. The waitress got my friends sushi order wrong, took awhile to get the correct roll. We ordered different rolls but both had this sweet, thick, dark sauce on it that did not make the rolls taste any better. The rolls actually might have been ok without the sauce on it. Walked out of there disappointed. Proceeded to group text my cousins that all frequented Miki’s that it was a different owner and so not yummy. Oh, and they give this frequent stamp card… left that on the table.

Located here in the Charter Square Shopping Center is Yummy Sushi. This place has been many different Japanese Restaurants, and well this new one doesn’t hit the mark as much as we’d like it too. This place is Chinese run. The waitress spoke to us in Chinese because she could tell we we’re Chinese. We happened to be the only one dinning, it was like 2:30(lunch) on a weekday. So we got to know some things about this place. They came all the way from San Francisco to open up a Japanese Restaurant. We told the waitress that there were quite a few Japanese restaurants in the Fremont area. She was surprised when we told her that. She then asked us how the food was. We told her it was okay, when really it wasn’t all that… The food is not really that good, we won’t be back. My mom doesn’t want to return to this place because she did not enjoy her entrée. So, as Unilocal says«Meh. I’ve experienced better.» 2 stars. 1 check in here, probably my only check in here.

First couple of times was great but after not so much. It’s still a decent place to go to and they still give coupons for your next visit. Bento boxes are cheap but you get what you pay for. Yet again, I still recommend ordering off the special roll menu.

This place has changed a lot in recent years, and this is the worst it’s been. If you went when it was owned previously, the food portions are now smaller and the quality is disappointing. The service here is absolutely terrible, on multiple occasions. Once, we were asked every 5 minutes if we needed anything because they had multiple people working all of the tables without a clue as to role designation. Instead of apologizing for forgetting an order of sake, they made up an excuse as to why it wasn’t brought out yet(they were out of sake cups???). Another time, had to ask 4 times for water. WHAAAAT? Literally, just so many ridiculous things. I will not be back here. I’d rather be served by a rock. With a bunch of ugly moss on it. It’s less frustrating.

After a long day at work, I was thinking… I deserved some sushi! As Yummy Sushi was the only sushi restaurant close to my house, I decided to give it a try. Initial Impression: Very clean, orderly, and casual. Ordered to Go What I Ordered: Super Spider Roll & Caterpillar Roll(I think… again… Long day) Taste: Pretty Delicious! :) Service: Not conventionally perfect, but still great experience. Very homey feel… Like a family-owned Chinese restaurant feel. Will I go back? Definitely, and I will be bringing my parents: D

This is the second time I have come here. I came at night, around 8:40 pm. There were people sitting, so shows it can get somewhat busy. The menu has pictures in them, so you know what sushi rolls you are getting. We ordered the San Francisco roll and butterfly roll. The butterfly roll was awesome bc there had a variety of fish on top of the sushi, had octopus there!!! The service was great. The lady there was very nice. I miss the previous sushi place, Miki Sushi and grill. But this one is just as good :) I recommend this place.
