Visited Yankee Peddler for the first time on Saturday with my mother. We were both impressed and enjoyed every minute of walking through the store. We felt that it was very well organized and everything was high quality and reasonably priced. The gentleman who was working there was very nice, but he kept talking and talking and eventually, I felt like I just wanted left alone to browse. I suppose that is just small town friendliness. We didn’t buy anything, but would definitely come back again.

We decided to travel to Fremont today to go Antiquing. This was our first stops in town. The gentleman behind the counter was very nice to us explaining where everything was in the store and told us to holler if we needed help. He wasn’t pushy or trying to get us to buy things. We wondered around the store and found a few wonderful things to purchase. I found a cool Kodak Print and some other things. When you first walk inside don’t be Ina hurry to walk right back out because it looks like a lot of books. There is a lot of antiques thru out the store. The store was clean and organized with friendly staff. I will return once I’m back in Fremont.

On the hunt for a very specific type of item for my china hutch, I stopped into YPW one afternoon and was immediately reminded of why I don’t like this store very much. The selection is incredibly varied, which is great for someone who likes to browse thoroughly, but the staff can be quite pushy. The clerk with an accent(cannot remember her name) was a dream to work with when trying to come up with something, but at the end of the day, it was apparent that I needed to keep looking. The gentleman at the front counter was pushy to the point of a «sales vulture;» he could smell the cash in my wallet, so to speak. If the item isn’t going to work for my home, it’s not going to work. I’m not going to buy it just to appease this guy, and I probably won’t be back because of him. Such a shame.

We found a tulip chair dining set for around $ 750. While I did like the dining set I don’t think I could handle that much Roger Sterling in my apartment. The brass bookends caught my husband’s eye. The book prices seemed rather high. Some of the books I know I could get on Amazon for less. We didn’t have time to see the whole store, the clerk was in a hurry to rush us out, she wasn’t the most friendly. We will probably come back for some of the Swedish things and to explore the rest of the store.
