I’ve been coming to the SR for a few years now, and every time is hit or miss. The band that plays is always great, the shot chair is amazing and the staff is always great. I was in this past Saturday and the bouncer at the door is one I hadn’t seen before, but he was hilarious. He had the whole line laughing, getting all the girls in our a group riled up and giving the d-bags a hard time. He made standing in line more fun than it should be. Take a note from his one liners, they may come in handy.

Came here with my friends for a birthday celebration. I’m not a fan of country music, but once I got into the club I started dancing! It was a real nice experience. I like the live performance band on stage.

Love this place! Reminds me of the country bars I use to go to in Tennessee and Texas. Lots of fun!!!

Except the bouncer police-like attitude, once you enter the club — it’s actually very nice. Bartenders, servers and other people treat you very nicely. I also like the Music, layout and this mechanical bull… Lately, I heard that they changed people at the door, and now it’s much better now. Anybody else experienced that?

This was Our first stop last night! Great atmosphere, drinks, and the bouncers are sweet. I love country music so this was it for me! My friends didnt care for it too much. But, they enjoyed the drinks and eye candy. LoL We tried the drinks that lit up in a cup. Tasted like a white raspberry slushy! Yum. There was no drama and folks just had a good time chillin’. But, it does get packed! Get there early.

When you’re drunk and with good company, this place is the best place to be at! I’ve been here on two occasions. One was after graduating our nursing program two years ago. The most recent time was to celebrate a good friend’s birthday. The first time, I was super wasted, along with everyone else in our party so of course, it was a good time. I don’t remember much about the music and the nitty gritty details from that night. Just that we all had a damn good time. The most recent time, I was nearly as drunk as the first time, but nonetheless still enjoyed myself. This time, I was able to scope out the place and actually remember it. There’s a Barber chair where someone just pours liquor down your throat. Another attraction at saddle rack is the mechanical bull. It’s always a good time watching your friends be severely inebriated while riding the bull. There’s 4 bars and one dance floor. At the beginning of the night, they have a live band for entertainment. The gal that sang last night was nothing amazing, voice was mediocre, and she was rude lol. The DJ that took over afterwards sucked. Played the worst music. Tried to mix in hip hop then went back to sucky music. There’s a $ 10 – 15 cover, depending on what time you arrive. It’s $ 3 on Thursdays. I’d only come back here with good company. It’s not my scene and it wouldn’t be my first choice to go if someone said they wanted to go drink and dance lol.

I was in town and visited with some buddies who live in the Bay and had a good time overall. I’d probably visit again, why not? It was a good time! –Atmosphere, Service, Location & Parking— Located in what seems to be a industrial area of sorts tucked away with a big parking lot you’ll find The Saddle Rack. I came here with two buddies to celebrate, and we had a good time overall. Definitely a cool country bar venue with country music(who would have thought?). This place is huge! Lots of space to dance(there’s even a cage), there was a live band on stage(it was a Friday night), they had multiple bars, and a room tucked away with pool tables and I think some darts. There is a cover charge and I think on a Friday night it was $ 15. Eh… really? Dislike, but I’m sure that’s the same for Saturdays, but I would think during the week it’s probably lower. Definitely a packed house, but it wasn’t too overwhelming where you couldn’t move around at all. They have a mechanical bull, and that’s always a hit with people whether you watch others or join along. I think the price was in the $ 5 – 10 range and a waiver must be signed to ride. I could see this place being a popular joint among the surrounding areas. Service was really quick, when we first came in it was just starting to get busy so the bar near the entrance wasn’t busy. When we were on the other side of the joint there was a cocktail server/bartender(Megan) who would go around and you could order drinks with her without going to the bar. Nice! She was great to talk to as well and she was«hella» quick too, I was shocked. She would appear with drinks in a minute or so. —Drinks & Price— Prices are moderate, you can expect beers to be in the $ 7 range I think, with mixed drinks/shots/liquor in the $ 10+ range.

I can’t believe I took my wife to this place. There’s a cover charge of $ 10/head, we asked the waitress to open a tab & she said they don’t do that here. Went up to get some food & they serve nothing but«MICROWAVABLE» food that I can get better at Costco. Everything you order was in a box or plastic wrap & the lady throws em in a 4 stacked microwave. WTF??? My wife ended up getting food poisoning from the buffalo chicken strips I got her. After finishing our 1st& only beers each, we blasted outta there like a bat outta hell!!! NEVER again will I step foot in this place… I wish they had a «NEGATIVESTAR» that I can post coz they deserve a total 5 negative stars!

Definitely not a «country bar» if you won’t accept military id’s. Drive a hour to get turned away with security saying it might be fake. F*ck you. Respect the men who give up their life so you can sleep peacefully at night.

Ok the reviews I have read seem to have been written from people that have confused the bar with some place else or people really need to grow a pair. I went out to this bar last night for the first time and had a blast! I don’t even like country music in any way, shape or form but I still had an awesome time! Yes it was loud, yes the drinks were a little price, the bar food was microwaved frozen snacks, the bouncer were hired muscle to deal with rowdy beer muscles and yes most of the people where there to get DRUNK! If you think a honkeietonk bar is going to be anything other than the above mentioned you might want to try one of the many hipster poetry reading tea shacks in down town San Jose!

I really love this place. I’ve been here many times for birthday celebrations, girls night out, and sometimes just for fun. I have always been served good drinks, the staff has ALWAYS been courteous, and the music never disappoints. Best of all is the bull. Watching it and the people who ride it is so much fun. The security is always polite, and never hassle any of us. Personally I’ve never had an issue here like I’m reading in some posts. Really at any club the only time there will ever be an issue is if someone is acting a fool. Great place to come and have a good time

I don’t know why this place doesn’t have 4 stars plus! Me and a couple others went here for my friends Bachelorette party and had the time of our lives! Great crown with a lot of good energy. The electric bull is so fun and the music is great! The dancing was for sure my favorite. I had one of the greatest nights ever here! Highly recommended and arrive before 9 to pay half price cover :)!

The saddle rack is where you and your gal pals go out for birthdays. Expect to pay a way too high cover charge, get extremely white gurl wasted and ride the mechanical bull after becoming a human cocktail shaker in the barbers chair. Also, if you’re a cute girl you will for sure get asked to dance by an elderly cowboy. Cheap-ish beer specials, country music, cowboy boots. The whole shebang. Not really my jam, but I’ll go on the occasional birthday and make it a good time.

Like many other folks I’m not a big country fan but this place fills the irregular fix for country music, dust and jeans. It does have really pleasant country music and lots of dance room and easily accessible bar counters and tenders! I actually recognized two songs I heard! People are friendly… it did remind me and make me reminisce and miss the club in San Jose where I had previously seen a few famous bands! I will go back for my needed next fix in a few months or so!

I came here with a few of my coworkers on a Thursday night. I have never been here and was excited to experience something other than SF and SJEDM/hip-hop clubs. There was ample parking, but it seemed like it was in the cuts of Fremont. Cover was $ 3 if I remember correctly, which is super cheap. Upon entering, I saw an abundance of people wearing flannels and cowboy boots. I felt so out of place in my work dress lol! I heard there’s a mechanical bull here, but I decided to opt out of riding it. I thought the service here was kind of rude. The waitress that stopped by our table asking if we would like to order more drinks gave us so much attitude for no reason. Yes the music was loud, you did not have to roll your eyes because you didn’t hear us say«no thank you.» Hopefully the next time I come here, the experience would be a bit more welcoming.

A dance club in Fremont?! Wut. Saddlerack can be really awesome or really not but it depends on a lot of different things. A definite Pro is that there’s so much to do! There’s something for everyone really. TWO dance floors(one for freestyle dancing and one for line dancing) for the person who’s got to keep their feet moving. A bull ride machine for the adventurous and daring types. A shot chair for those who are really trying to party. Pool tables for the competitive(or those not too into the club scene). A dancing cage for the really brave. THREE bars and one jello-shot mini bar for everyone else! Plus plenty of seating and a live band to keep the night going. Still, there are some cons. The cover is pretty steep especially if you arrive after 9(which really is almost everyone). The people who work there are either really nice or pretty standoffish so you’re at a hit or miss here. People start arriving later and leave earlyish too. To be honest, you’ve just got to be with the right people and you gotta be into the whole scene too. You should at least like some country music and it’s more fun if you’re with people who are willing to dance or do other fun things. The crowd is really diverse. You’ve got young 20’s crowd all the way up to older more experienced line dancing experts. It’s so interesting… but can also be pretty cool! One last thing, honestly… how does everyone know all the line dances?! A song comes on and all of a sudden people just know exactly which line dance to do and how to do it. I’m over here like… yo why didn’t I get the invite when we rehearsed this y’all? And I never even ONCE heard some achy breaky heart for the electric slide aka the one line dance I really really know. Sigh.

Came here for my friend Alejandro’s 23rd Birthday whooh! From what people have told me, I was expecting this place to be much better, but it was a decent night. Came before 9 because it was $ 10VS $ 20 after 9pm, that is absurd. I’m guessing it is so high to pay for the live music which was really good, however it should really only be like $ 5MAX to get into a bar. There are a lot of elements here like the different bars, the bull ride, the shot chair. At first I was SO out of my element and wanted to leave but after a few drinks, you can start to have fun lol, also the band started playing some pop songs from maroon 5, bruno mars, and pharrel williams, which made it easier to dance too. As for the crowd, seems like people usually come in groups, the girls were sweet, met some new friends, there seems to be an older crowd. Also, the beers are all in bottles… and are $ 6.50. They have blue moon which is good but they don’t have any beers on tap which sucks. I didn’t do the bull ride because I was wearing heels, big mistake. The dress code is pretty casual. I’ll wear some boots if I go again. Overall, I would prefer to go elsewhere because I’m a college student on a broke going out fund, but I’d come here if someone invited me again. I’d recommend everyone to go at least once to see how they like it!

Kind of a staple in the Bay Area. We all enjoy coming to the rack and have never had a bad night. Several folks come here every weekend. Security is friendly if youre respectful to them, which is true at most of most bars. 3 bars + a shot chair and servers walking around constantly. I will always choose the Rack over broken spoke, there’s no comparison.

So I ended up here after a friend’s wedding on a Saturday night. Someone really want to ride the mechanical bull. On a Saturday night, although this places was packed, there’s plenty of room. This place is huge… much bigger than I expected. Feel free to come in cowboy hats and cowboy boots. Actually, the majority were dressed to the theme. There’s a dance floor up front and plenty of seating all around. The mechanical bull is all the way in the back on the right. Upon arriving, I found out that cover was $ 20. That’s way too steep in my opinion. And the lady who was doing payments was so mean. She was acting all pissy and moody. She tossed my credit card back at me and yelled at me to sign the receipt like I was an idiot. So rude. Now, if you are looking for a fun country/western themed night, you should definitely check it out. The crowd was really mixed and diverse. It is a little more fun if you dress up though. If you want to ride the mechanical bull, it’s 4 bucks. Don’t be shy about trying it. There were plenty of people who tried it for the first time, and everyone cheers for you. Towards the end of the night, they had a live band singing cover songs. As I mentioned earlier, the crowd is very mixed. That being said, you also see those groups of people who get drunk and like to start fights. Within 20 minutes, two different fights broke out right next to me. One guy almost got knocked out. The security staff was pretty quick to respond for the first one. The second one was a little scary cuz there were bottles being thrown. You also see some of those trashy groups, showing a little too much and drinking more than they can handle and then you just have your normal folks, having a good time. I think if I was in the mood to do a country night, I would come back and give it another shot, but I would be a little reluctant.

To each his own haha. If you are all into that country music chill vibe, then this is the place for you. I wouldnt say I am the most open to music so if you are like me, then listen up. I like my hip hop, r&b and top 40 with ounces of edm here and there. The only country music I listen to is Taylor Swift haha. I just wanted to come here to experience it once but I am glad I did. You just chill with your friends, pretend to line dance and learn from all the old people. There is a dance floor close to the live band stage where you can partner dance or dance in a circle or whatever. People are pretty pro… and older hahh. The age ranges from mid 20s all the way to 60s or something so it really is just a place to chill. Get in before 9pm and its 10 bucks. After that it is 20. I got in before 9 so it was cheaper. Dress up! People dress in plaid and boots and shorts so just go all for it! I wish I dressed more in spirit but oh well. So while there, you can drink, eat popcorn, watch people go on the bull, get drinks from the dentist chair, and dance in that cage haha. Watching the bull is fun haha. The dude is way easier on the girls then guys because when guys get on, it is thrusting like crazy haha. Line dance or whatever dance and make a fool of yourself. I just know this isnt really my cup of tea but always try something once.

$ 20 cover charge is pretty steep IMO, but I was low-key forced to come here for a birthday, so I had no choice. Not a super huge fan of country music, but I really liked the vibe of this place, it was something different to experience versus the normal spots I go to that play(hip hop, pop, edm). However, I came here on a Saturday and they were mixing it up with Top 40 which was pretty cool. From what I remember, 4 bars, 1 bathroom, 1 main dance floor, 1 area for line dancing, a mechanical bull and barbershop /Dentist chair. The people that come here give off a friendly home-town feel vibe, however, some of the staff can come off slightly rude. The drink prices are pretty standard about $ 7 – 8 for beers and cocktails. Would come back only if I had to or wanted to do something different.
