Sunshine Kids After School

Sunshine is one of the good aftershool centers in the area.
Management is polite and communicates well with parents. If you child needs special attention then this is the after school you are looking for.
Example: if the child need to be pickedup after regular school hrs (if they are enrolled in after school activity) they will do that without a fuss. if the child need extra work they are ready to give that too.
They are great with organizing snack time, which other aftershool do not bother.
They are responsible with picking up kids and dropping off, if you get chance go see how they work as a team during those times in school. Staff will even co-​ordinate kids doing MPM math which is two doors down.
Kids get to do Accelerated Math program each day, which is good math practice.
Over all the management and staff is responsive and will listen and take action if you talk to them.

Sunshine facility is large and bright. Sunshine is great in tending to the needs of working parents by providing flexible hours. They also know the Warm Springs school system pretty well. They know when the schools shut down days are, when the field trip days are, what the home work requirements are. They are also very willing to work with parents who have special requests.
The major down side is the quality of the teaching staff. Some teachers are fine but some do a lot of yelling (eg. Mrs. Ahila) and don’t speak good English. They yell at kids to get them to line up, they yell at kids to quiet them down, they yell at kids to command attention.
Sunshine is also a little bit more expensive compared to a few other similar after school care centers.
If Sunshine can improve on these two areas, it could easily be a 4 star sfter school care center.
