I’ve been to both this location(Thornton) and the one on Stevenson. Although the Stevenson location is much larger, I prefer the Thornton one over Stevenson. In terms of drink quality and customer service. The workers here are much more friendly as oppose to the other location. I’m not sure why. Every time I get rung up at the other location, they seem so blank with their expression or unhappy with not just me, but with other customers as well. I’ve been a barista for over a year now(I’m not anymore however), but I always try my best to talk to my patrons and make small talk to make the time I’m ringing them up or whenever i’m making the drinks faster. Sure, some people don’t care for small talk, but I guess what I’m trying to say is… be a little happier if you’re working as a front staff? The drinks I’ve tried here are the polar cap, mocha, white mocha(iced and frappé as well) strawberry and crème frappé, green tea frappé and their red velvet frappé. I highly don’t recommend the red velvet frappé unless you really like extremely sweet drinks, which I don’t like. You could probably ask them to adjust the sweetness by adding less pumps of syrup, which I’m sure they wouldn’t mind doing. As for studying here? There’s plenty of tables so whenever I come, I’m not on that eye of the tiger lookout. A pretty nice atmosphere basically. Other than the blender being loud at times, the noise level is a minimal. The wifi is usually fast but it does lag at times. Who’s playing World of Warcraft… or League… Definitely one of the best study spots in Fremont!

Forgive the name«Suju» and the aged signage seen from the street and give this place a try! It’s pretttty awesome! And I’m sure you’ll be impressed. Yes, this place has all the beverages a coffee shop should have, and more! There’s ample seating, they have a wall full of ceramic mugs and coffee mugs for sale, and outlets! I am seriously in love with the ambiance(mostly the amount of seats this place can fit). Another great thing about this place is the noise level. It’s not super quiet like the library, but not extremely loud and distracting like a Starbucks. When I walked in 90% of people had their laptop and books in front of them, studying away. Also, there’s plenty of lighting! It’s not dark like starbucks either. Okay, enough about the ambiance. let’s move on to the food. There’s a glass case FULL of pastries, underneath a refrigerator full of snacks and bottled beverages. I skipped on all of the above and opted for a sandwich. Grabbed a sandwich«form» at the counter and filled it out. I had the chicken salad. It wasn’t amazing, then again, it’s not a sandwich shop either so what can you expect? At best, it was average. Also got a bag of chips for $ 1.00. Sandwich and chips was around $ 8. I really have no complaints. If I lived in the area I’d be a regular here. Come! Do your work! Meet with friends! It’s a great place for all of the above!

All these years later, this is still one of my go-to spots in town. Suju’s on Thornton has renovated their display and counter space. Nice touch! They always offer an array of sweet delights and I appreciate that they also have savory breakfast and sandwich options, too. Their coffee and tea options are expansive. There is always something there that will satisfy my cravings. It’s a great spot for a coffee date or a casual hang out with friends. The one thing I haven’t done is bring a larger Meetup group here and spent lengthy periods of time like I’d like. I did call their manager once to see if they welcomed that sort of thing and the response I got wasn’t as favorable as I’d hoped. I’ve also heard from other customers that they don’t always welcome the long hours of hangouts but I haven’t put it to the test yet. I will hope that if I ever bring a group of people and spend 3 – 4 hours there, they will be happy to have our business. If they do, for sure this spot will deserve 5 stars. In the meantime, I’m satisfied with 1 – 2 hour hangouts and all the treats they offer.

For some reason, I always connect the shop name ‘Suju’ to have an Indian background, for the name sound so similar to an Indian nickname for Sujata as Suju(It’s feminine). Let me check with the coffee house people next time ;) Location — The destination will be on the right on Thornton Ave when you’re coming from I-880 N exit 19. And, the café will be on the left when you enter their parking area. There are good number of parking spaces, but can expect a packed lot during busy hours. Entrance look — The access look & the surrounding area to the entry way din’t give a great impression from the parking lot area, but yeah who cares how the shop looks when the quality of the brew & the pastries they serve are Amazing! Inside setting — Lots of seats on the left once you enter with people busily working on their laptops or groups discussing their projects, a typical people friendly java shop and onto the right, there are few tables as well. There on the right you see many cute coffee mugs for sale(was so tempted to buy one, will check next time) and an ATM to withdraw cash/check your balance(not sure whether it works, haven’t tried yet). Straight ahead to the door point will be the store’s ordering area. You get to see their very many delicious and fresh looking pastries. Menu & Our Order — Huge options, reasonably priced with loads of choices to Coffee/Tea/Smoothies/Breakfast Sandwiches/Salads etc. We(me & the hubby) got caffeinated with their English Toffee Latte & Caramel latte, very flavorful & perfect choice for a first timer to the place. Their Hot Coffee Drinks comes in 3 sizes — Small(12 Oz), Med(16 Oz) & Large(20 Oz) and prices ranging from $ 1.65 to $ 4.25. We also tried one of their enticing dessert ‘Cinnamon Crumb Cake’($ 2.15) from variety of other pastry selections, prices ranging from $ 1.50 to $ 2.95(if I’m not mistaken about the pricing exactness). Asked for a warm crumb as suggested by my friend, Henry C, Thanks to him for a great recommendation! The cake was soft & crunchy, tasted fresh &YUM!!! Enjoyed our every bite– to the sense of heaven!!! More about Suju’s? What’s good about this place is that they roast Coffee beans In-House. Interesting to note from their website, «We brew the freshest cup of gourmet coffee possible. Choose the best Arabica beans every season from various plantations. We slow-grind our roasted beans just seconds before the coffee is brewed using charcoal-filtered water at constant temperature of 190 degrees to ensure that molecular and flavor characteristics remain intact to create a stimulating flavorful cup of Joe». Excellent place to hangout with your best buddies. Their pastries — looks so mouth-watering, more to try out next time(God knows how many next times?!? lol). Their drinks are sure to grab your attention!!! Of course, not to forget mentioning about their quick service and the staff were patient, polite and helpful!!! Many Thanks to Unilocal & my Unilocal network, for I wouldn’t have found this place otherwise!!! & Thank you Suju’s Coffee & Tea Team for providing us a wonderful service!!!
