Lot of different types of food. They customized one dish for us and offered extra desert. Nice ambience.

Time for an updated review! Haven’t been here in months. There has been some subtle changes — portion size now a little bigger, and food now a tad milder. I consider these changes to be huge improvements. Chatted with the manager about how difficult it is to figure out customer taste. Her guess is that because the new Chinese restaurants in this strip mall feature big portions for cheap, customers who come to this strip mall will demand bigger portions. I don’t mind more food, but I hope they don’t sacrifice food quality!!! My reason for coming here is because the quality of ingredients is much higher here than at most Chinese restaurants.

Whenever I come to this place, I ended up with diarrhea and stomachache. The food is good and cheap. But they definitely not clean and safe. Don’t come to the place.

Been here a dozen times and 90% of the dishes I had were very good. And that is definitely a complement for any restaurant. The dishes have strong Hong Kong/Cantonese influence but managed to stay modern and classy. They also have stamp cards that give you free dessert/drink/dish. BTW they also take reservation for big groups.

wow Unilocal removed pics I posted for a friend that didn’t have Unilocal showing them prep food in the back ally/yard, defrosting meat in the open air, and chopping vegs on a wooden board. so disappointing that a citizen of 40 years in Fremont cant let other folks beware!

The waiter who served us today was both hospitable and friendly. He would show hospitality by providing us with what we needed such as straws and utensils and much more in a very diligent manner. He also, willingly volunteered to pack up our leftover food which shows that he cares about his customers. He was also friendly because he did not rush us while we ate which made the meal so much happier. I learned that this waiter has only been working at Kung Fu Kitchen for three days. He deserves a promotion because he is very responsible in his service.

Extensive menu. So hard to pick what I wanted but I didn’t want to be too adventurous in case I might not like it. Nothing tasted bad from what I ordered, everything was okay. Huge portions. Ordered a BBQ pork with rice noodles. Tons of noodles and it tasted okay. But I didn’t like the BBQ pork because it had too much fat and it was gross. Every noodle dish had a ton of noodles but they weren’t skimping on the other ingredients. Egg white fried rice was huge. Ate half, got the rest to go and it still filled up a whole to go box. Got roasted duck and soy sauce chicken but it was mostly bone. Also try the papaya milk! Service is nice but it’s hard to flag them down unless you literally call out to them.

So when I try a new place I start with the basics. Here I ordered beef brocoli that tasted more like ginger than anything else and the consistency of the meat was kinda gross. The rice has sea weed which was weird and the rolls blaaa. Chow mien soggy noodles that is a total deal breaker for me! Wont go back ever…

Came here not really expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised! I got the char siu and siu yuk, and have to say it was some of the best I’ve had. The fat on the char siu was really evenly distributed, and wasn’t too fatty or too lean while the siu yuk was crispy. The second time I came here I got the char siu noodle soup, and papaya smoothie for lunch. The portion size was much larger than I expected, and the papaya smoothie was great.

Good but not great Chinese food. But definitely above average. The biggest problem with this place is reflected in the other reviews, which is that their customer service is quite lacking. The owner and cashier is somewhat apathetic, which although is not unusual for a Chinese restaurant, is just a bit unusual for a place that seems so much more updated and«hip.» The food here is Cantonese, but they try to do a couple of Mandarin and Shanghainese dishes that I really think are to their detriment. They should stick to what they know. But the Cantonese dishes, from won ton mein, to chow fun, to any of their clay pots are pretty solid. They are pretty good with beef here, and I would say stay away from the vegetables as I tend to think that they were too over cooked. Chicken and fish dishes are slightly above average, although I would add that things are a bit too salty here for my taste. Again, stick to the Cantonese dishes is what I would warn. But take my criticisms here with a grain of salt. I never truly liked Cantonese food; but then if you have more of a Mandarin tongue like mine, your feelings coming out of this place will not be too far off either.

Came here around 8pm with my family on a Sunday night. The place was fairly busy, but we got seated fast and the menu was very presentable w great variety. Loved the décor of the place, had a relaxing feel and modern look to it. We ordered the: –Thai Fried Rice –HK style bbq pork noodles –Sauteed egg white bitter melon –Fried salty pumpkin –Turtle clay pot –Papaya milk drink The food came fast and I’m pretty surprised to say, all the dishes were on point(I didn’t try the turtle pot though), with generous portions and great savory taste. The only possible downsides were that the fried pumpkin was really oily(but then again, it is fried) but oh so worth it, and… yea that’s all I can think of. Really enjoyed that meal and experience.

They do not care about their customers and their food are mediocre at best. There should not be a reason for a restaurant like this to be around. And why are they block out good parking spaces in the front with buckets? Shady

I came here with my family on a Saturday afternoon and there was a short wait. The restaurant has a very nice décor. I definitely loved their wood on the wall type of theme. The restaurant was a lot cleaner than I expected, for a Chinese restaurant at least. Everything was pretty«modern,» from decorations to the dinning utensils. Their menus are definitely one of the much better ones for a Chinese restaurants because they spent time and money in including pretty pictures and having the menu turned into a laminated type of booklet. We took some time to look at the menus and ended up ordering the Thai fried rice, stir-fried noodle beef, braised pork hock flat noodle soup and the assorted pig organs porridge. The food didn’t take too long to come out. All the food were great! I especially love the Thai fried rice because it’s so flavorful and I’ve never had that before. It is a little on the spicy side, but it was really delicious! The porridge and the stir-fried noodle with beef was decent as well. I didn’t get to try the noodle soup, but it sounded like it was pretty decent also. I was pretty satisfied with the meal. Overall, I would come back again. It’s decent and it’s one of the nicer Chinese restaurants in the area. It’s kind of pricier than some places, but not too much. It’s a nice place to grab a quick bite as well.

This place is good for a quick and hassle free dinner and prices are competitive. It can get pretty crowded here around dinner time, but the wait usually isn’t bad. Chow mein, udon, and chow fun are really good here, and everything else is pretty descent. Food comes out piping hot and within a reasonable timeframe.

Food: 3 We ordered the bbq pork and chicken combo with ginger onion on the side. We also ordered their chicken wings(used to be my favorite) but for some reason it was a miss. It smelled funny like fish sauce was used so we sent the food back. Usually in most Chinese restaurants they don’t take back things, but he went back and talked to the chef and they were pretty nice about asking if we wanted another dish or just cancel. Chef admits fault. The BBQ pork is good but the meat is a little too fatty. Actually it’s really fatty. Could use leaner meat. We also ordered the 4 treasure soup, which we enjoyed a lot. Service: 4.5 The skinny Chinese boy served us and he is very polite. He was the one that offered to take our order back. For a Chinese restaurant I feel this is the best service you’re gonna get. He checked on how we were doing quite often, and took back our food and removed it from the bill. Our overall experience was okay, but I want to give them a 4 star because they’re pretty decent and our experience wasn’t bad.

My parents love coming here. The food is good but the prices can be kind of high. Their fish filet(wha she order) congee is very good and would recommend that to anyone. We also get their won ton mein, duck over rice and some sort of chow mein. Their service is pretty good even though they tend to look frazzled and short-staffed. It can be pretty hard to find just driving by as it’s in the plaza where you enter the Motel 6 off of Fremont Blvd. Oh! Their cha sui is pretty fatty, not much meat.

Location: Off of fremont blvd, in the plaza where lucky’s is at. Parking available. Customer Service: I’ve only done take out! But they seemed nice! Décor: I love the décor of this place seriously! Especially the back wall with all that art! It’s just a nice restaurant all together! Presentation of Food: Only done take out! How did the food taste: It was great! My aunt actually did a huge take out order for a family party and everything was delicious! For fremont it’s a good chinese restaurant! I’ve been spoiled ever since I moved out of fremont since I live closer to Oakland’s chinatown now, but when I ate at this place it made think«finally a good spot in fremont for people to get legit tasting chinese food» not quickie chinese food to go! Overall Experience: I would definetely love to come back and try the other dishes and actually dine in!

I’ve been to this establishment three or four times. Most times it has been really good. Weird service, yummy food, and a lot of different drinks. I like their spicy green beans a lot. I have this dish all over Fremont and I like it here. I’ve tried the Macau noodle and it’s really good too. What I didn’t like about the last visit and why I’m giving it only two stars is a good safety issue. I found some wire in my pork with bamboo shoot. It may be from a wire brush used to clean things in the kitchen. But to me it looks like a staple that someone unbent and tossed in with the pork. I’m a mom and eat really quickly and only when I have time to do so. If I had gotten this particular pork chunk at dinner time, I would be in the ER. Fortunately I packed it for lunch and was able to eat at a more leisurely pace at my office. Thanks Kung fu kitchen! Also their loyalty card is only for dine in and there is a $ 25 minimum on credit cards. Not a big deal. We eat a lot! No changing table available. And there is a mesmerizing terrarium available for babies to look at. Clean modern design. Like if giant robot had a Chinese restaurant.

I came here since I was in the area and was pretty hungry. We had heard about this restaurant from a family friend so decided to check it out since we were in the neighborhood. We were seated pretty quickly and proceeded to order a fried rice, singapore rice noodles, and a szechuan spicy beef dish. The fried rice came with sliced crispy roast pork, shrimp, and a random assortment of veggies. The rice noodles were pink and sweet, this was probably my most favorite dish. The szechuan spicy beef dish was not how I expected it to be, the spicy oil was more of a brown than red color and it was also not very spicy at all. I don’t think I would order any of their szechuan dishes again. I want to come here and try out more dishes since they have a very large selection.

Disappointing from start to finish, to be quite honest. Kung Fu Kitchen is a solid 2 stars — far from disgusting, but definitely not worth it. Atmosphere: I do appreciate how clean their restaurant looks. It has a modern-esque Hong Kong café feel to them and I like the style. They do have a few tables for groups but if you’re coming here with a large group you might need to squish together just a tad. Customer Service: Dreadful. There were a handful of other tables(the restaurant was maybe about 1⁄3rd full) and it was a MISSION to flag down a server to take our order. We had a large group as well so it’s not as if we could be easily overlooked? The server then came with our drinks and rushed off before we got a chance to open our mouths and ask if we could order. By no means do I ever complain about apathetic Asian service, but a lack of efficiency? That’s what puts me off. Food: Meh. The majority of the dishes we ordered were far too bland. I’d like to give some special attention to the«House Special Braised Pork Hock Lo Mein». 0 flavour and that’s no exaggeration. It felt like I was eating textured water. After a few bites, I just couldn’t be bothered any more. The noodle dish was a special honourary mention, but many of the other dishes lacked pizazz as well. The string beans had no taste and the Sauteed Eggplant with Pork & Salted Fish had 0 trace of salted fish. — None of the dishes were disgusting, which is why Kung Fu Kitchen is saved from the 1 star. The prices aren’t too steep either(you bet your ass the rating would be a lot lower if this was the case), but when you can get more flavours from Panda Express than a supposedly authentic Chinese restaurant, you KNOW something’s wrong with that story.
