Terrific local bicycle shop in Niles! Was $ 10 cheaper than centripedal for a tune up on my daughters bike and he was able to take it same day when the other shops said it would take 2 days.(Was a really busy time) He was friendly and helpful and even helped people just coming in to get air for tires etc. really seems like a great local shop run by a guy who is willing to help out:)

The bottom line: This is a family-owned and friendly bike shop with a great atmosphere. If you want more details: When I saw this business open several months ago in Niles, I kept meaning to stop in and take a look, but I never got around to it. Then, a teacher at my kids’ school asked if anyone had old inner tubes for a class project. A neighbor recommended Gooseneck Bicycles, so I finally had a good excuse to go. Matthew, who owns the shop with his wife, was extremely nice when I came in to ask for the tubes. I said I’d come back soon to get bikes for my two boys. Fast forward a couple of weeks, and I did stop in with the kids to look at bikes. Matthew was again very nice and did not appear stressed out or annoyed by my kids trying to touch everything in the store, despite my constant threats to them! He has some amazing customized bikes on display and for sale as well as a range of old cruisers he refurbishes for sale. When I told him that, ideally, I was hoping to buy identical or very similar bikes since my boys are twins, he responded that I could probably find two new bikes, cheaper – how’s that for honesty? However, I told him that I wanted to support a local business. I’m also into«reduce, reuse, recycle» when possible, so I ended up buying two bikes from Gooseneck. They needed a little more cleaning up, so Matthew said he’d call me in a few days when they were ready.(I’d told him there was no rush.) The bikes look great, and I will definitely be back to buy a bike for myself later on and for repairs and maintenance. Thank you Matthew!

Homey, friendly, honest service… If that’s what you are looking for, stop by Gooseneck to see Matthew. I have a 20 year old Trek that’s used on and off. Gear wasn’t shifting and rear brake was’t doing it’s job. Unilocaled for bike shops in Fremont and decided to give Gooseneck a shot. After a quick overnight tune up service, Matthew had the bike cleaned and running like it was new. Gooseneck certainly deserves every single one of the Five Stars reviewed given… especially this one.

Mathew, the owner is super nice and very informative about bikes. He is very friendly and welcomes you into the store. I have been a novice mountain biker for about 8 years of my life and I know basically every aspect of bike maintenance And I still go to gooseneck. His shop is very reasonably priced, way cheaper than others in Fremont. He really tries to get to know all of his customers on a first name basis. My friends and I have build numerous bikes and Mathew always helps us with parts and service at a great price. This is the place to go for any bike needs.

Matthew is the man. He hooks me up every time I go to see him. He knows his stuff. They also do some bad ass custom fabrication for bikes. Go see him

Last week, I took my 1997 Trek 850 mountain bike in for Matthew to do a complete deluxe tuneup on it. I had been having so many shifting problems, for so long, that it wasn’t even fun to ride it anymore. The shifting mechanism was gummed up with old grease that was more like wax, after seven years. When I came back the next day to pick it up, not only had Matthew made it work like it did when it was new, he had even cleaned it up. Everything mechanical had been cleaned, relubricated, and adjusted. I enjoyed doing business with someone who clearly LOVES what he does. Not only that, but he’s very GOOD at what he does. And he has a great outgoing personality for working with the public. I highly recommend the maintenance services at Gooseneck Bicycles, even if you have to bring your bike here from Newark, Union City, or Hayward, it’s worth the drive.

Matthew and Aisha are very friendly and welcoming. The shop looks great and really fits in the Niles neighborhood. They had a really exciting range of used, new and custom bikes that Matthew designs. His custom design makes a lot of sense for comfort but it also has a very cool and unique look. On our second visit, our niece needed a bell for her bike and Aisha gave her one that had been a party favor at their wedding! Matthew is extremely well connected to the historic Silicon Valley bike culture(Faber’s, Phil Wood, etc) and can get almost anything you need in a couple of days. I special ordered a Nitto stem that many shops were out of stock on and Matthew had it in a less than 2 days. Great people. Great place. I hope they continue to grow and succeed.

Love this place and I’m so glad they moved into the neighborhood. Not your ordinary bike shot by a long shot. Very original and very much willing to work with their clients. I went in recently and traded in an old bike that really needed some work it and the owner gave me a fair discount on a used bike and now I’m out riding with my kid!!! I’ve also gone back and they’ve been extremely patient with my questions and always helpful. They also do some really cool custom built bikes and specialize in building up bikes based on what the customer wants. Good selection of used bikes at very reasonable prices. Give these guys some business because they deserve it.

Cool looking place. I left my phone on a bench out front and the nice honest people at Gooseneck Bicycles returned it to me with no hassle at all. They were very nice and warm. They’ve just opened and I’m excited to the bikes they get in.
